    Greetings from Peru! For many years .380 acp here was the max power cartridge a civilian could use for defense.

    I have owned several Glocks over the last 20 years and never changed out the sights. The factory sights and factory night sights have been on the money all the way to 25 yards for me.

    • @thedailydefender1408
      @thedailydefender1408  6 місяців тому +1

      I think the overall sight picture isn’t bad, but not night sights (if someone needs that) and they have been plastic for some time and they will dent and not hold up to one handed manipulation work well. We just see so many better sight options standard on other pistols (320s, FN REFLEX, M&P, etc….) I always find it odd they don’t provide a better sight as std but not a huge deal either way…

      I prefer the ball and cup sight picture that's more accurate for me; and the Glock factory Ameriglo option or factory night sights like on the 19X . They just work for me in a time when everyone trying to be John Wick, I guess I'm just old-school

    The GA symbol is the proof marks. You'll find it on the frame, slide, and barrel. This gun isn't bad to shoot. I've never heard anyone say that a snub nose 38 is pleasant. For a beginner or even a more experienced shooter, I'd suggest one of these over any 38 special snub nose. I'd take the HST over the hydrashock any day of the week. It's a more modern and effective round in general. All of this is my opinion and worth exactly what you paid for it.

    • @thedailydefender1408
      @thedailydefender1408  Місяць тому

      Hey thanks for the comments, I’d agree this one is easy and pleasant to shoot. I’ve been around revolvers a fairly long time now, dating myself a bit, and have no issue with a snub nose in .38 SPL getting rounds on target at 7-10 yards but again everyone’s mileage will vary. I would agree not a great starter gun at all. I’d also lean towards HST every time but federal has put time into that newer hydrashok round and it appears close to HST.

    I purchased one at a big box vendor in Cincinnati Ohio. Reasonably priced with three magazines. My wife enjoys shooting it and it is her daily carry these days.
    She has large hards for a woman and is recoil sensitive, it’s definitely a better choice for her compared to a Glock 26/27/43 etc or a Sig 365.
    I have not found a single retailer other than eBay that sells the mags that has them in stock. Magshack stocks them but they are on back order.

    Excellent vid. I have been shooting my 25 in GSSF Matches in the stock division and it has abo 27:00 ut the same recoil as the Glock 44 in 22lr, giving a superior advantage when shooting at 25 yards. I bought the 44 as a trainer for my Glock 17L and 19 but now it is really more suited as a trainer for the 25 as the recoil is very close to the same. The only difference is the 44 is much lighter and only 3-5 cents per round shooting 22lr versus 34-40 cents for 380. Still shoot pre-Obama 22lr.

    This could be a great Paradigm for training up new shooters
    Start them on a 44, and then when they have all the sight picture and Trigger control figured out move them up to this, and from this they could go to a 9mm full size with a g42 for deep concealment ( I've heard some people who know their Glocks say that the 34 and the 42 have a very similar recoil impulse)

    Glock is going to sell that antiquated gun to all the suckers willing to pay for that thing! Check out the magazines, they are designed to be used with dual or reversible mag release, which mean a possible gen 4 or 5 release and of course later MOS. We are all being played by Glock. Yep I'm a double sucker as I bought two. I wanted the softest shooting center fired gun I could find and the 25 fit the build. I have shot this bad boy in GSSF matches as stock the other was slide cut for an optic for open division. Shooting the 25 is CHEATING it shoots like a 22lr!

      You know there will be. They made a limited run of 10,000 g25 and g28. They wanted to see how well it'll sell before they make new tooling to commit making it in the US. They made the run and all tooling has been sent back to Austria already. The g25/28 is already a proven platform and there are other variants we can't get of them in the US.

      I went to do a light break in to test mine yesterday. I usually do this to make sure I don't blow a lot of money on extra mags for the gun to just not work right. I shot 120rd of various brands in 95gr fmj. All flawless. I also tested 5rd each of speer gold dot, wilson extreme defense, Hornady conical Hp, and three Remington compact handgun. All rounds shot flawless. No ftf or fte. No lie, the best .380 and the best glock I've shot, ever. The gun is far more accurate than i can be with it. Definitely worth the buy. The G28 however is the one people have reported issues with that I've seen. It seems the spring is too stiff from factory on it for that short of a slide.

  • @waltergreene9053

    Why not take 9mm ammo and make it a little less powerful than your usual 9. It could be say in between the 380 and standard 9. Less recoil in an already existing platform. Then use 380 for micro or pocket pistols

    • @thedailydefender1408
      @thedailydefender1408  6 місяців тому +3

      that sounds like your thinking of reloading which I don’t think the masses / market demographic is doing for .380 . Right, wasn’t trying to point out or highlight that .380 guns are unreliable, but rather the Glock platform has proven reliability and in a slightly larger package provides other advantages as well. Most of the videos / articles I’ve seen show most of the under performing.380 (penetration depth) issues has in some part to do with the micro pistols / barrel length, the G 25 would seem to help mitigate that.
