Myrmidon lost the multi but deal true damage. So they deal just as much damage overall as they used to deal in EE but are now better vs greeks/buildings and MUs.
They were pretty strong, but I think the solo unit strategy must end. That time you could spam mirmidon and win vs everything. Sadly we still have that shit strategy with Turma, again...
This was a super close matchup in AoM Extended Edition. Below are the scores I got when I ran this matchup in the latest version of EE (2.8). Negative scores indicate a win for the Champion Fanatics and positive scores a win for the Champion Myrmidons. Champion Fanatic (23) vs Champion Myrmidon (25) Round 1: 16.9% Round 2: -3.2% Round 3: -13.1% Round 4: 11.7% Round 5: 26.7% Mean +/- SD: 7.8 +/- 15.9%
Freyr's human units are the strongest human units, I think the techs he have helps a lot. Odin units are more durable because the passive to regenerate, you can raid and fight with zoning. Then we have Thor that he have more impact for the quick BSmith development and finally Loki that works better with Mythic units. I preffer Loki and Freyr, they have simpler way to play, but Odin and Thor have they especial gameplay, in my opinion.
Thanks! The Fury of the Fallen myth technology that's available to Vidar worshipers is what makes all the difference here. For reference, below are the scores I got when I reran this match-up with Fury of the Fallen removed. Champion Fanatic (23) vs Champion Berserk (38) (Freyr) (No Fury of the Fallen) Round 1: -31.2% Round 2: -30.5% Round 3: -36.1% Round 4: -26.6% Round 5: -29.2% Mean +/- SD: -30.7 +/- 3.5%
Vidar's Fury of the Fallen myth technology greatly boosts the combat performance of the Berserkers when they're in a large group. For reference, here are the scores I got when I reran this matchup with Fury of the Fallen removed. Champion Fanatic (23) vs Champion Berserk (38) (Freyr) (No Fury of the Fallen) Round 1: -31.2% Round 2: -30.5% Round 3: -36.1% Round 4: -26.6% Round 5: -29.2% Mean +/- SD: -30.7 +/- 3.5%
💪💪 both units are myth age and castle building training and also both expensive both are good units but hard to mass only late game is possible, same for myrmidons and xbow for hades
Maybe in a future video I will. However, note that the regenerating hero Fanatics miss out on either the Bite of the Shark and Frontline Heroics techs (if going the Kronos > Prometheus > Hyperion > Atlas route) or the Devotees of Atlas tech (if going the Oranos > Oceanus > Hyperion > Hekate/Helios route), so they're probably not going to fare as well as the other hero Fanatics in these battles.
I think that Gaia > Oceanus > any > Atlas is still the best god path even for Hero Fanatics (Hyperion's Heroic Renewal doesn't matter much in a head-to-head battle, and Oranos can't worship Atlas in the Mythic Age). I definitely will do hero battles at some point, but right now my focus will be on other units.
I don't know if it's very relevant, but what about adding Greek heroes to these tests by doing battles where the 4 heroes of each Greek gods fight all at once against an army that matches their totsl cost.
That's an interesting idea, though to make it more applicable to real game situations, I'd probably have the 4 heroes of each Greek god fight separately from the heroes of other Greek gods. I haven't recorded the stats of hero units yet (save for the few hero units shown in this video), but I'm definitely going to do hero battles at some point.
Lets be real here, they should loose to any dedicated conterinfantry which means they should have never won the fight against Arcus and Charriot Archers. I also feel like they should trade about even with Myrmidons and with War Elefants. As it stands right now they trivialize 90% of the Athlantian Unit Roster by simply being to good against everything. Fanatics are simply way to strong for their price and deserve a nerf, thanks for proofing this. I hope the devs see this video too.
Ranged units like the Arcus and Chariot Archer benefit a lot from micro, which comes into play in a game involving a human player, but is not taken into account in this video. My test makes the assumption that both teams will Attack Move their armies into each other, which is probably not a good way to control an army only made up of archers.
lol I can hear Myrmidon saying "give me back my old bonus multiplier" 😂
Does myrmidon get his bonus dmg against building?
They ruined that unit. Whys it so weak if it can only be built in fortress.

I was shocked how well Freyr's berserks did against these guys.
This video is really well made!

Well on my end I'm deeply shocked about Hetaroi's damages. XD
Excellent work, this is very useful
Amazing video! Great attention to detail, and I love your scientific approach to unit matchups. Looking forward to more!
Thanks so much! More to come soon.
Thanks for the Video. Very cool. Crazy how good Freyr Berserkers are. Maybe the best unit in game for their costs.

16:11 i wasn't believing that Hetairoi would had won against Fanatics😮😮
area damage

Hetairoy is op
1:24 Roman(GTA IV) is strong with this wooden machine who throw arrows.
3:20 they defeat Italian Roman Soldiers without loss.
Hell yeah
Can you make myrmidon next pls so we can compare him to fanatic 🎉🎉
That would be interesting to see for sure. I'll add your suggestion to my to-do list.
Ahora uno de la caballería de los nórdicos por favor
awesome! Could you do regenerating hero fanatics pllleeeeeaasee?

6:28 here we are❤ But Axemen have bigger number
Can you try Hero Fanatics with Oranos > Oceanatus > Hyperion?
Imho these are the best fanatics

They should rename the unit "Mary Sue" 😂😂😂😂
Fanatic are kinda op
nah, they are shitty. being weak to achers is a weakness you can't afford
@@d.reeman5820 Yeah. The only reason they are decent is because of the atlas upgrade anyways. If you remove that, they are pure dogshit.
