I was just there a few minutes before you did this Larry. I just sold my Kanstul 1500A and am about to pull the trigger on a Carol Brass 7000L but with traditional water keys and either clear lacquer or silverplate with gold trim. Whatever they'll let me get away with, heh.
hello Which trumpet do you think has better tuning and intonation Carol Brass, or Bach? I'm wondering if I'm going to buy a Carol Brass CTR-7600L-GSS or a Bach VBS1 Thanks a lot.
Larry here plays an Eclipse from the UK, nothing wrong with that of course but undermines some credibility when it comes to endorsements, Carol Brass can't be all that then!
The difference is Eclipse are very high end horns whereas Carol are on the affordable end. It's perfectly reasonable to recommend the Carol horns for those in that price range but recommend an Eclipse on the higher end
Gee Larry, you've had a lot of expensive trumpets in your experience! How'd you pay for them all? You must have a good day job?! Slotting up well. What exactly is that? And how to use or fix slotting (or non-slotting) up? Also, I have a vintage Bach Strad 43 bell. Had it since college back in the 70s. (About when you were born...and before you knew about Mynerd & Doc & Conte & Snooky). It's too big for you, only corn-fed players can handle it, so please don't try and play one without lead screamo supervision!
the guy has fine chops. you can tell each horn's characteristics immediately when he plays
Oh my goodness, those are some stunningly beautiful looking horns, I so need to try some of those!

Hey Larry, thanks for this review! I ordered the "euro" model this week. Can't wait to get it.
Did you get it? What do you think of it, a year later?
Hi Larry, impressive reviews, your profession shines through, how do these trumpets compare to Getzen? Looking for a new trumpet, all the best,
