I live 5 doors down from Allen. I've had the privilege of knowing him (and his wife, she is missed terribly) for more than 25 years. I have never seen him have a "bad day". He's a genuinely great guy that I'm honored to have as a friend.

How blessed must you be to have a friend and neighbor like Allen! Please tell him his story is so inspiring, and I wish I knew him to. What kind soul!

That's the funny thing about being fortunate. It's not like you won at the slot machine, it took a while before you realized you had a good neighbor. And a while longer to realize how good that neighbor really was. And then years of those good experiences pile onto each other until you've got one of the most precious things in your life.
We should all be so fortunate, and patient, as you.

This is a good story about a great man. Digging grave ain't just sitting on a backhoe. I dug a few in Warren County Ohio, I was down at work and needing some help getting by raising my son. Food stamps came with community service back in 1992. So I worked for the county. It was a good experience, and I met a lot of good men.

THEIR ARE PHOTOS OF THIS WONDERFUL MAN - STANDING NEXT TO HIS WIFE ON THEIR DAY - IN 1966 - AS SHE STANDS AND SMILES AT THE CAMERA - HE STOOD THERE LOOKING AT HER SO LOVINGLY - NOT AT THE CAMERA - AND ANOTHER PIC SHOWS THEM STANDING TOGETHER IN 2015 - AND AS SHE AGAIN SMILES AT THE CAMERA - HE AGAIN IS THERE STARRING SO LOVINGLY AT HER. I WANT KIND OF RELATIONSHIP - A MAN WHO STILL LOOKS AT ME - AFTER 50 YEARS - THE WAY HE DID ON OUR WEDDING DAY ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤ WHAT A BEAUTIFUL SOUL HE IS - I JUST WANT TO GIVE HIM A BIG HUG AND SAY THANK YOU FOR JUST “BEING” 🥰

I remember pronouncing correctly a town in Idaho when I went through many years ago. Dubois. Doo-'bwah.
      Right?
Only I got instantly corrected by everyone I met: it's 'Doo-boyce.
I learned to love local cultures 😊
