God has a special place he is preparing for this incredible man, he is doing the work of the Lord, what an inspiration and role model he is! Thank you for all you do Allen McCloskey, you deserve every blessing God has in store for you!!
For someone in his 90s, he's holding up well physically. Granted, his wife being dead is a knock against it, but they guy looks like he can hit 100 if he's still trucking in 2034. The "being valued by his community" probably helps. Also, as a Texan, hearing Gal-VEST-on instead of GAL-ves-ton is so weird. It's cool seeing how folks in other places can have the same name for something but with a much different inflection.
Grave digger Allen McCloskey is so dedicated to his job that he even carried out the heart-wrenching task of preparing his wife’s final resting place. The 89-year-old, from Galveston, Indiana, USA, holds the record for longest career as a grave digger (male), having dug his first grave by hand in 1952. And he’s still going strong today.
You don't often see the words 'beloved' and 'gravedigger' in the same sentence. Nevertheless, I hope he'll accept a sincere tip of the Stetson from an old cavalry corporal.
This Gentleman is Amazing!!! Great example of Humanity in deed!!!. Blessings to him & his Community!!!!
He's lived a very full life....because he gave so much to others! Thanks for sharing this.
Aaahhh...

Handwritten correspondence is a rare and exquisite gift...
