Opinion: I think it's better to put the clip on under the triple tree just like the 750 to have an aggressive stance, and use smaller headlight to enhance the size of the bike.
As a person who has had 450’s over fifty years, I heard you mention carb problems? Make sure your oil leak isn’t because you have gas in your oil? Extra oil will pop out your seals.

I found the culprit. The push rod oil seal popped out because it was old. Replaced and all fixed. My carbs are tuned pretty close to good as well
