I like 70’s and 80’s punk and new wave. Grew up with grandparents who listened to the great jazz crooners like Sinatra, Nat King Cole,Perry Cuomo, Tony Bennett, and Louis Prima. The Strokes are a little bit of all those things. That’s why they are always one of my favorites. Excellent live as well!
It's called Post-punk revival. They are Post-punk but they also eat even more from 50s to 60s garage rock than 80s Post-punk. That's why they sound so "beachy" in their first two albums. Legendary band.
