Can someone explain why Zombie Chow is a good card to have in a priest deck? Im new to the game so what is the benefit from adding on health to the enemy hero? Only thing I can think of is if you have Auchanai on the field. Not sure if Im missing something.
Board control is what you're looking for. For a priest, you're getting a 2/3 for 1 mana, which means at best (and quite often) you trade a 1 mana for a 2 mana 3/2, if you get the chow early. Priests are all about board control.
Well I love using Priest and I realized the board control thing shortly after. My issue now is that I want to main a second hero. Any suggestions? I was thinking either Druid or Shaman.
Shaman might be good with the recent Blackrock cards, but before its release Shaman wasn't very useful. So many things counter the Shaman decks. I would suggest building a Druid deck, but expect to use a lot of dust because many of their cards are epics or legendaries. Make a ramp druid. Also, what are you wanting to do? Climb the ladder or just have fun?

I recall one game I managed to thoughtstole a foe reaper and dr.boom, and I ended up dying before either could be played. Thoughtsteal is nice when it works, but sometimes it just can't help no matter what you get.
Misplay on 8:45, should have it the chow in to the Auchenai Soulpriest, then holy smited the Auchenai Soulpriest, this play will make the chow to 5 dmg to the enemy priest instead of healing the him. :3
You really can't buff them though. Any kind of buffs to them will immediately make them OP. They're meant to be a gimmick, and even as a gimmick people have shown that they can be incredibly strong if you get a decent matchup versus your opponent's deck. If you want to buff a certain gimmick, buff pirates. Almost every pirate card is BEYOND useless in every single deck imaginable aside from Warrior, and even then, they still completely suck. Captain, both Corsairs, Parrot, and the Deckhand are unbelievably useless. Raider is decent, but not as a 2 drop minion which is at the point of the game where you HAVE to play something. If you can't play a weapon, which you can't play any weapons on turn 1 except Light's Justice (terrible), then the card is nothing but bait for 3/2 one drops or 3/2 two drops that end up getting way more value. Greenskin's only useful for super strong weapons like Gorehowl, so he's REALLY situational. His stats suck ass otherwise. Even for gimmicks, they're amongst the worst cards in general in the game.

However, now that most decks have some sort of "sticky" minions and cheap AoE, I can't see why you'd run them except for the fun factor. Even so, any sort of buff would make them absolutely broken. As you said, some pirates are decent on their own (recently Southsea Deckhand has been seeing some Rogue play), but the synergy is just not there. I can only hope that the new expansion has some pirates as well...
cdwwg You know, I actually have a functional rogue-pirate deck. I did it for the lulz when I got Greenskin in a pack from arena. Turns out, it's actually very decent, you can reliably have weapons as a rogue, and you wouldn't believe what an assasin's dagger can do when buffed with poison AND greenskin. And I'm even "handicapping" myself, using ONLY misfits, bandits, thieves, and such kind of lowlifes as minions in the deck, to make it themed, like it was a band of thieves, or some kind of mafia. My best deck, and it's the most fun to play with too! I got to rank 9 the season naxx opened too.
if ya asking priest specifically then id go with ysera but rag is overall better when speaking about all classes. just a personal tip: if you have the ability to spend 9 mana for 1 card then you most likely are already far ahead enough to win the game without it
I'd actually go with Ysera no matter what now. I used to love Rag, but unfortunately he just doesn't do enough in this meta. He's utterly worthless against aggro, gets killed for free against control (all druids and handlocks and some warriors run BGH) and the damage is simply not worth it in a deathrattle meta where most decks have a Sylvanas. And even if you do get a nearly perfect setup, there's still the chance that your 8 mana is going to go get wasted on a face attack. I'd even go as far as to say that Kel'Thuzad is better if you run a deathrattle-heavy deck.
Imo it depends. If you're facing faster decks then rag works as a Finisher or just to break their spirit. If shower decks ysera is harder to remove and its harder to mess up.

I played for 2 hours this morning, apart from 1 game every opponent i played was running priest. The good thing was that it seems like a lot of net decking is going on and most of them didn't know how to properly play priest. The only time game i lost was when he thought stole my ooze the turn i played doom hammer and the other thoughtsteal got him my Al'akir and Rag and a rockebiter so there wasn't much i could do… I mean i rather this meta than 2/3s zoo but its a little annoying playing against people who just steal all your cards :/
"Thoughtsteal" doesn't literally steal your cards, you know, so the only thing that happens is that the thoughtstealer gains 2 cards you also have in your deck (copies them), he doesn't gain an advantage other than drawing your cards, before you do.
Schleicherfreund I know it doesn't take the cards I'm not an idiot. Also what do you mean it doesn't give you an advantage? 3 mana for 2 cards from your opponents deck, in constructed they are likely to be really good and in arena it means card advantage… if you top deck a thoughtsteal when you are going card for card in arena its gg. Not only that but as any decent player will mulligan out late game cards the chance of a though steal getting something big and hard to deal with is higher as well. at worst it is a 1 for 2 and can be game winning in a lot of circumstances.
Because of value! 1 mana 2/3! HS most of the time is about board control, not life total, and chow being so strong and value and helping in the board control makes him a good, or even a excelent card. Some people think that he's a bad card because of his drawback and "It's to harsh to draw him in the late game!", but some people don't mind because they only see board and value, not the health of the player.
It's been like that for a couple seasons now. The bots tend to stay around 20 so they play the easiest opponents and still get the card back for that season.
crazystreet128 I'll admit to being one of the lower tier players. Highest I ever got was Rank 16 before just plain stopping for the month. I probably could have gone higher, at that time was about 4/1 w/l with that deck just didn't have the motivation to go forward. Thoughts along the lines of "Well, I'm high enough. Probably will lose lots if going further since I'm still not that skilled."
What you guys are describing is the "new season wall", it's basically where everyone is pretty much the same rank at the start of the new season so you get a clusterfuck of new players, experienced but bad players, your skill level players (the ones you're after), and pros that belong at legend but only just started getting it (again). The wall gets really tough at rank 5 when the winstreaks stop, that's usually where I grind to at the start of the new season then wait a couple of weeks before continuing. Also I'm not sure about this season in particular but the past 2 were still quite a mess due to the Naxx release and the meta being on drugs. Put it this way, if you think this is bad then wait till the expansion where rank 20 legit people will be able to beat you purely through RNG and get to rank 5 pretty easily (probably, it's RNG afterall). :P

Go for a control deck, then. I suggest maybe a Muster for Battle paladin deck.

Auchenai only affects "your" healing powers. It was not Trumps Auchenai, so it does nothing since the chow heal is "played" by Trump.

Also what do you mean it doesn't give you an advantage? 3 mana for 2 cards from your opponents deck, in constructed they are likely to be really good and in arena it means card advantage… if you top deck a thoughtsteal when you are going card for card in arena its gg. Not only that but as any decent player will mulligan out late game cards the chance of a though steal getting something big and hard to deal with is higher as well. at worst it is a 1 for 2 and can be game winning in a lot of circumstances.

Because of value! 1 mana 2/3! HS most of the time is about board control, not life total, and chow being so strong and value and helping in the board control makes him a good, or even a excelent card. Some people think that he's a bad card because of his drawback and "It's to harsh to draw him in the late game!", but some people don't mind because they only see board and value, not the health of the player.

why is it that rank 20s are harder to beat than rank 17s this season?
It's been like that for a couple seasons now. The bots tend to stay around 20 so they play the easiest opponents and still get the card back for that season.
crazystreet128 I'll admit to being one of the lower tier players. Highest I ever got was Rank 16 before just plain stopping for the month. I probably could have gone higher, at that time was about 4/1 w/l with that deck just didn't have the motivation to go forward. Thoughts along the lines of "Well, I'm high enough. Probably will lose lots if going further since I'm still not that skilled."
What you guys are describing is the "new season wall", it's basically where everyone is pretty much the same rank at the start of the new season so you get a clusterfuck of new players, experienced but bad players, your skill level players (the ones you're after), and pros that belong at legend but only just started getting it (again). The wall gets really tough at rank 5 when the winstreaks stop, that's usually where I grind to at the start of the new season then wait a couple of weeks before continuing. Also I'm not sure about this season in particular but the past 2 were still quite a mess due to the Naxx release and the meta being on drugs. Put it this way, if you think this is bad then wait till the expansion where rank 20 legit people will be able to beat you purely through RNG and get to rank 5 pretty easily (probably, it's RNG afterall). :P
