Upsell upsell upsell!! You can add a huge amount of yearly profits with upselling handyman work. So many little things wrong with houses that are missed. Or even seeing something els wrong when you’re at a rental fixing a random item.
Awesome video man. Keep on rockin’

Thanks! I agree completely. I'm embarrassed that I avoided upselling for so long.

Thanks ED! I'll be slowly and intentionally growing it out while keeping it trimmed better.

A mistake I made was agreeing to use the property owners left over materials to build a large L shaped outside bbq/cook station. They wanted a stone & mortar job on the outside of the bbq and then these huge modern looking tile pieces on the inside because that's what they had laying around from multiple properties. It ended up being a huge headache because I built the whole thing without knowing the tile size in advance, or the quanitity on hand, it was hard to go from the stone to the tile aesthetically. End of the day the whole thing just looked stupid. I've been learning the hard way it's not your job to agree to a homeowners terrible idea. If they won't agree to a process and a design that makes sense there is a slim chance either party will be happy in the end.

Don't always charge hourly. figure out what you should charge per the job.
Watch his videos on why not to charge an hourly rate for everything.

2A6X6 (E&E) right out of high school and then later cross trained into 2A8X1 (Comm/Nav) and then a large civilian career as just general avionics but usually focused on comm/nav.
