Who's Geoffrey part about Thomas' lie being payed off in Lost Treasure was cut from the video, I didn't feel it really added to the overall plot, but I've see quite a few people mention it, so I thought I would just acknowledge that!

When it's put in a more subtle way, it was like a giant movie.
JBS and S21 though, that continuity is all out of place (and it's mostly due to the show now being a yearly-released property since 2002/03).

    • @amitysluzara2022

This was such an interesting and mind-blowing timeline! I had no idea these events connected together like this and I find it so intriguing! After seeing this, I feel like it makes A LOT more sense as to why Sir Topham Hatt was so angry at Thomas. For one thing, in 'Who's Geoffrey', Thomas lies and makes a big mess of things, another thing is that Sir Topham Hatt must've been so overwhelmed with all of these engines out of service or away that he had to buy 2 new engines. It just makes more sense now and I really enjoyed watching this! Amazing job!

S19 is honestly a underrated season. Yes, it has flaws like Henry is a scaredy-cat in his S19 episodes and a few bad episodes. But animation is much better as the animation from S13-18 and S22-S24. It has a lot of good or even great episodes. We learn new sides for characters like Edward , Cranky and Salty. Even James has his moments in this season.

Woah, there is so much I have to say about this video!
Firstly, I 100% agree with S19 being one of the best CGI seasons. It makes my top 10 seasons list for sure.
Secondly, man this timeline is more complex than I thought. I thought I was a genius for understanding the references in NHAA, but I didn't expect THIS much continuity!

Even though S19 is my least favorite of the Brenner seasons, there's still some solid gems in it, and I'm glad you made this. Seeing how much forethought went into this season by Brenner & Co. really makes me appreciate how smart things were handled back then in the writers room, and makes me appreciate S19 a lot more.

The most confusing part of the “Emily is at the Steamworks” part is that she was also at the Steamworks in “Snow Place Like Home”, which is also a series 19 episode. Does Snow Place Like Home happen at the tail end of winter, and Salty all at Sea at the start of spring? That could be the reference as well.
Also, Salty was in Lost Treasure which makes this even more confusing…

I do like season 19 and I did realize that things like Salty all at sea and no help at all being on the same day in a way. Or how James referenced Arlesburg. And well I technically knew about this in a way I didn't realize how much more there really was to it. Season 20 will always be my favorite of the CGI seasons but I think this comes pretty close. And the fact that all the stuff was able to be woven together like a sweater is impressive. Now all we have to do is wait for someone to put all the episodes and special in chronological order lol. Fantastic job with this video Adam keep up the good work and have a Happy New Year!

    Grasshopper Baked Alaska
    Ingredients:
    1/2 cup butter, cubed
    2 ounces unsweetened chocolate
    1 cup sugar
    1 teaspoon vanilla extract
    2 large eggs, room temperature
    3/4 cup all-purpose flour
    1/2 teaspoon baking powder
    1/2 teaspoon salt
2 quarts vanilla ice cream, softened
1 package (4.67 ounces) mint Andes candies, chopped
    2 tablespoons creme de menthe
    1 tablespoon creme de cacao
    Green food coloring, optional
    MERINGUE:
    8 large egg whites
    1 cup sugar
    1 teaspoon cream of tartar
    Directions:
    1. In a microwave-safe bowl, melt butter and chocolate; stir until smooth. Stir in sugar. Beat in vanilla and eggs, 1 at a time, beating well after each addition. Combine flour, baking powder and salt; stir into chocolate mixture.
    2. Transfer to a greased 8-in. round baking pan. Bake at 350° for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out with moist crumbs (do not overbake). Cool for 10 minutes before removing from pan to a wire rack to cool completely.
    3. Meanwhile, in a large bowl, combine the ice cream, Andes candies, liqueurs and, if desired, food coloring. Transfer to an 8-in. round bowl (1-1/2 qt.) lined with plastic wrap; freeze until set.
    4. In a large heavy saucepan, combine the egg whites, sugar and cream of tartar. With a hand mixer, beat on low speed for 1 minute. Continue beating over low heat until egg mixture reaches 160°, about 8 minutes. Transfer to a bowl; beat until stiff glossy peaks form and sugar is dissolved.
    5. Place brownie on an ungreased foil-lined baking sheet; top with inverted ice cream mold. Remove plastic wrap. Immediately spread meringue over ice cream, sealing to edge of brownie. Freeze until ready to serve, up to 24 hours.
    6. Bake at 400° for 2-5 minutes or until meringue is lightly browned, or use a kitchen torch to carefully toast the meringue. Transfer to a serving plate; serve immediately.
Also, to stay on topic, I like the part where the time was lined.

  • @thesudriana016
    @thesudriana016 Рік тому +11

And I thought David Mitton's map of Sodor in the Classic Series was complicated but interesting to understand, but even that was amazing yet confusing to learn about S19 and Lost Treasure.
The part where you mentioned Sam Wilkinson's statement about the production team being sick and frustrated how each season keeps spoiling the movies before and after their initial releases does explain these weird/set up and payoff continuity stuff regards to the animation or events. Truth be told I can understand where he was coming from given how each new season was aired first before the events of each new movie released in the same year occurred which often gives confusion and spoilers to younger viewers about the new locations and characters (then again, Shining Time Station also had the same problem when airing the Thomas episodes such as Two Old Hands for example, am I right?). At the same time, all of these things up until JBS kinda throws every event off when the latter and S21 had a massive continuity problem until BWBA somehow fixes all that (minus the Thomas traveling around the world and back on Sodor issue).
Then again, even the Railway Series is not strictly perfect within its continuity like Stanley (No. 2) being turned into a pumping engine in 1928 even when Duke mentioned the events that happened PRIOR to Stuart and Falcon a few years later after they arrived on the railway (even that illustration error in Bulldog's second page shows that). I guess you can say writing a series of talking trains is not all easy when continuity is the most top priority to keep consistent with, but can also cause such a headache to try and piece together.

Well, I must say, that is a fascinating video of the Season 19 timeline with the episodes and Sodor's Legend of the Lost Treasure. A bit puzzling but very great. Also, I think Philip would be at the other shunting yards during the crash scene off screen since his episodes are before the special, I'm sure of it. Overall, you're very impressive at these kind of stuff. Keep up the good work for the new year.

Thanks for explaining some of Series 19's confusing mess. I'm in the midst of working on a proper CGI timeline that includes every single episode from this era, so having at least some things cleared up can definitely help fix some things up. And hey, maybe I could help with the possibility of fixing up the Series 21 timeline. It's been a mind boggle for me, which is why I started working on the timeline in the first place. That, and how Henry is the main protagonist for the CGI era, but that's a different can of worms.

I think you should do a video about what type of real life steam locomotives does each character look like the most. I know that the Sodor Island Book explains what class of engine each character is and most of the illustrations of the characters in The Railway Series look like their actual basis but characters like Thomas, Edward, James, and Percy don’t really look like their actual basis. This is just a suggestion but I would really like it if you could make a video about it.

If I am being honest I think it goes like this Toad and the Whale, Phillip Arrives, The next day Phillip to the rescue Sir Topham Hatt's office gets redesigned and the strike happens (Conicendially it got blown up 3 days later) Salty All at Sea, Best Engine Ever (beginning) Den & Dart (Beginning), No Help at All (Beginning) Sodor's Legend of The Lost Treasure (Day 1)/Best Engine Ever rest of the episode) Then the docks get busy again and Timothy comers to help out.Thomas goes to the Harwick Branchline, Mavis comes back, Salty Come Back (This explains how he is there the next morning in lost treasure, Thomas meets Sailor John, Then he finds the treasure then later the chase then the end of SLOTLT.
However that is just me and it is completly fine to have a different interpatation on it.

This might not be too in depth, but I heard Series 12 had a rather consistent timeline. For example, ‘Arry and Bert being at the works after being crashed in Don’t Go Back. This probably isn’t in depth enough to warrant a video, but maybe a quick short. What do you think?

But in Snow Place like Home Emily is still at the steam works and it's winter so how many accidents/troubles did she have? I mean its says in Snow place like home shes waiting for new Pistons which looked like what her reasoning for her being took to the steamworks as the crew are scene working on her while she waited for Caitlin

Goodbye, Sir Topham Hatt being after Lost Treasure because Sir Tophatt's office was blown up is not 100% working for me. When I think of the aftermath of STH's office being blown up, I think of his office being decimated and not really fit for work, but in Goodbye Sir Topham Hatt, Topham is seen working in his office and during the Sir Topham Hatt Song montage we see Topham looking out his office window at James, showing that the wall Sailor John blew up is fine.
Perhaps workmen rebuilt Sir Topham Hatt's office after the explosion from Sailor John, but it was a bit of a rushed job and wasn't 100% to Topham's liking, so he decided to have the office properly redecorated during the events of Goodbye Sir Topham. Or the episode takes place before Sodor's Legend of the Lost Treasure, idk.
Besides that, most other things presented in this video work for me. Good job piecing this all together.

honestly why was Thomas even shunting gordon’s train in the first place he’s no longer station pilot for knapford ever since thomas and the breakdown train.

Thomas has appeared shunting Gordon’s coaches plenty of times since season 3 and nobody bats an eye there. My guess is this was a rare occasion.

I think his sir Toppom hats 🎩 office was redecorated before SLOTLT because all his stuff is in tact. If it was blow up wouldn’t it all be destroyed? And wouldn’t the engines know that?

Too much focus on the Steam Team and not enough focus on returnees as well.
