SOLIDWORKS: Sheet Metal Art with the Vent Command
Вставка
- Опубліковано 11 лип 2021
- In this tutorial, we cover the use of the Vent command to create artistic geometric patterns in thin designs made of sheet metal, wood, or other materials where extruded cuts/bosses or ribs are typically insufficient. This type of artwork is commonly manufactured with laser cutters or water jet CNC machines, and can be easily designed and automatically filleted using Vent.

Very interesting. You deserve more views. It's weird to watch you guys designing with inches tho
Haha thank you! I prefer metric too but most around here designing sheet metal tend to work in inches so I figured I should.
Thanx

Sir, I didn't get the point, how to draw such kind of sketches.
Hi Puneet, thanks for watching! I wanted to try to keep this video rather short, so I didn't focus on the sketch geometry, which I created using the Spline tool - you can learn more about the Spline tool in this video:

If you're a SOLIDWORKS beginner, I'd recommend watching this video on Sketching Basics first, as it shows how to create sketches and constrain them properly, which are important techniques to learn before using Splines:

I hope these are helpful!
