    Thanks for this, I used this wiring diagram you put together last night on my ls400 and got my apple carplay stereo working like a dream with the factory sub! Thanks again mate

      @Luke Seb Staniland , I'm so excited it worked for you! It's a nice little hack for those cars that don't have much aftermarket products like radio harness. 😅😁

      U mentioned factory sub, was it giving the same power with an aftermarket player than it was with the factory stereo?

    • @nataliamiliano150
      @nataliamiliano150 2 роки тому +1

      @@NFGPodcast Ya it should. The amp is located underneath the shotgun seat, so if he didn’t bypass it, it should still send the same power to all speakers, including the sub.

      @@CoverAllJoeyou know anything about the LS400’s with factory nav? I got a 1999 and I want to throw out the factory nav for CarPlay. Bought a climate control unit, but not sure wiring harness is same for factory nav units

    Ah man, I'm so glad I stumbled on your video. They don't make radio harness kits for my vehicle. I'm definitely going to attempt this! Thanks for the awesome video!

    You should consider making and selling these. No other company makes them. You would corner the market

    I'm mostly done using this method, this video was super helpful. So far I have the deck powered on, all I need now is the correct factory wire to power up the amp so the speakers will come on. Do you remember which 1 it is?

    I'm really interested in tackling this in a project I have because I like the Nak speaker components, but my head unit won't push the sub anymore. How was the sound output after the swap? Just wondering if there was any degradation at all to the clarity and loudness I love about the Nakamichi head unit.

    Seeing that yours is a Nakamichi system, would this work for the basic premium pioneer system? Also did you manage to retain the factory amp & sub?

    • @CoverAllJoe
      @CoverAllJoe  3 роки тому +3

      @Drew007, it should work with any factory radio, because with this technique (taking apart the head unit) you'll be using the input and output sockets of the head unit circuit board, so direct plug in to the factory harness. Just make sure you have the wiring schematic of both the factory head unit and the aftermarket one. And yes, its running the factory amp and sub doing it this way! Buying a adapter harness kit is best option, but either its a rare find to get or like me, I Like DYI options (because im cheap)! LOL.

    I have a 95 Lexus with the nickamichi radio as well and was wondering instead of connecting everything by hand that if I can just get an adapter to just connect and plug ??

    • @CoverAllJoe
      @CoverAllJoe  2 роки тому

      @WVRTHLXSS Ibarra Jr , That I've seen or heard of, there isn't any real plug and play options for the different type of stereo the first 3 generations of the LS400 came with. That's why I went this route. ✌

    • @CoverAllJoe
      @CoverAllJoe  3 роки тому

      @Crackatoaahhh , it should be the same, since the technique (hack) is to use the factory radio plug socket from the radio board. Just keep in mind that some soldering and other electronic work needs to be done!🤓👍

      @@CoverAllJoe I do have the factory nakamichi system. My LS is a 1999. Did you connect the harness you made to the aftermarket radios connector? I can't really tell from the video.

    • @CoverAllJoe
      @CoverAllJoe  4 роки тому

      Yes, I used the aftermarket wire harness, I crimped the open end of that harness to the stock radio socket (female connector i took apart from the radio) thus making it a direct plug in to the LS radio harness.
