Is the Smas facelift the same as a deep plane facelift ?

No, a SMAS (Superficial Musculoaponeurotic System) facelift and a deep plane facelift are not the same thing.
A SMAS facelift involves repositioning the underlying SMAS layer of tissue in the face, which provides support to the overlying skin and soft tissues. The aim is to tighten and lift the SMAS layer, thereby reducing the appearance of sagging skin, wrinkles, and jowls.
A deep plane facelift, on the other hand, involves repositioning and lifting the deeper layers of the face, including the SMAS layer and other deeper tissues. The aim is to provide a more comprehensive and long-lasting rejuvenation of the face, as compared to a SMAS facelift.
Both procedures are surgical in nature and are used to address signs of aging in the face. The choice between the two will depend on the patient's specific needs and the surgeon's recommendation, based on factors such as the patient's age, skin quality, and the extent of facial aging. We hope it helped . Thank you
