Yeah they are really scary beasts if you think about it. In the games they all look cartoony and so, but if you would see them in real life, you would probably sh**t your pants 😁

Holy crap, that was amazing! He used to scare me as a little kid, and boy, you captured that feeling! I wouldn't want to face him in real life without my shotgun ice!
This is a design concept a lot of games nowadays don't understand. The combination of colorful and a bit goofy, but intimidating and strong as well. Spark Mandrill is a beast of muscle and presence but his color scheme is christmas lights and bright yellows and blues. And it works.
Also, when SM punches the ground, it isn't an over the top, cartoony, punch a whole hole in the floor kind of thing. The fact that he just dents the floor makes him seem stronger. Because this building is a building, made solid and with purpose, and this thing standing before you just damaged it essentially as a stretch. You get to feel that impact more because it make the building seem made strong, but this thing before you is stronger.

But yeah, behind the cartoony look, there are actually menacing beasts. That's what I wanted to show. Glad it came through ☺️

As far as I know, they're working on one for Netflix right now. But it's early in pre-production so it might be a while. And who knows how it will turn out 🙄

Yeah I'm planning on doing some fights. Probably in episode 5. The thing is: I'm just starting animating 😅 Never done fast movements and choreography before. So that will be a huge challenge. But I already have this idea in my head so it has to be done 😁

Looks phenomenal, this is what a full budget Mega Man X game would look like if Capcom cared about us. Maybe that will change soon, MM11 sold enough for its owner to allocate the largest budget it has for a Mega Man game in a long time. It's not a AAA sized but maybe sales will grow from there and Mega Man will get the love Resident Evil and DMC get.
Not to be a downer, but I don't think so 🫤 I'd love to have something like this as a AAA game. But I'm afraid the franchise is still too niche for a big budget thing. If you're in that bubble it seems like everyone would love this, but overall we're a small group. But big enough for maybe X9 oder MM12 🙂
@@DemNikoArt Looked at sales data for contemporary 2D platformers and learned that they’re not as popular as I thought. The titans of the genre, Mario and Donkey Kong, get close to or surpass 10 million sold. They (and my age I guess) gave me the wrong idea about the lucrativeness of the 2D platformer, I had assumed the biggest non Nintendo ones could push around 5 million copies. The truth is they tend to be around 1 million mark, although sales data is limited because it’s not always published like it was in the past. So Mega Man isn’t really an underdog in the 2D platformer space, nevertheless I want it to be way bigger so it can come back.
When I said Mega Man could match RE and DMC it was mostly me trying to be optimistic, felt I was being at least somewhat realistic by not saying it could become a cash cow like MH. What’s positive is MM11 has sold 1.66 million copies making it the best selling in the entire franchise. The downside is it’s dwarfed by 2 freaking indie games, Shovel Knight sold 2.65 million and Cuphead a staggering 6 million. Not throwing shade at those games, they’re exceptionally well made. But indies have such an uphill battle to fight because they start out as total unknowns, whereas Mega Man is famous. To continue the realistic predictions the next MM title might be some kind of spinoff, possibly for mobile. It's the conclusion fans reached when its Japanese name leaked. Hopefully it all works out somehow and we get X9, ZX3 and Legends 3. I'll take a mid or MM11 sized budget versions of these games over nothing.

@@DemNikoArt I am unfamiliar with Patreon. But that might be interesting down the road. I like to make figures . I've actually thought about putting those on UA-cam, but they don't hold a candle to what you did.
Making one of the Mavericks into a 3D printable, poseable figure, that would be fun.
@@shrap3d Patreon is basically a subscription service for individuals. It's mostly around 2-7$ / month and this way people can support their favourite artists. In return they get goodies such as files, exclusive content etc.
I would definitely put your figures on UA-cam. There is definitely a demographic for this things. And not really competition to 3d.
If you'd be interested in getting some 3d files, I would be happy to try it out. But I don't know how to prepare them for printing. If you have some experience the better 🙂
@@DemNikoArt My skills are novice to mediocre. And my printer is not a good one. I have to outsource to a 3rd party like shapeways, but that comes with legal ownership of the file issues if that bothers you.
Basically you export a particular 3d printing file of your model, like an stl or obj, import it into a slicer like Cura which then allows you to compile it for printing. The process is quite easy. The nuance settings, model quality and all takes trial and error.
The last one I did was a 3.5" model of Iris.

Only recently got into Mega Man, and more specifically the X series, but I just can’t get enough. So when I saw this in my recommended, I was as hyped as could be. After looking at the more detailed Maverick shorts, I cannot wait to see what Mandrill, Kuwanger, and Armadillo are gonna look like in that style. Your stuff is damn impressive and awesome! Question though. In those shorts where Launch, Storm, and Sting are all battered up, are those supposed to be before or after they’ve been beaten by X?

@@DemNikoArt UA-cam notifications were off so I’m just seeing this now, but very nice. I only ask about when these happen because they seemed to fit with the backstory to how the Mavericks began working with Sigma. I figured the Storm Eagle one was like right after he rebelled against Sigma and the part where he fixes himself and takes off is him having a realization that he’d be better off working with Sigma instead. Also, if you’re doing Boomer Kuwanger next, then I’m definitely excited because he might actually be my favorite Maverick.

But yeah, these are actually some functional events after X1. All of the bosses survived. And I want to show the events from all perspectives. Not just good and bad but the in between. There are interesting stories in there and I use this series to explore these themes 🙂

I use blender as my 3d software of choice and I render in cycles.
