And how has this post aged!
If I might add to this Corazon roguishly disengaged (weak I know but I'm using my better one for Egbert later), Binbag's a mage who has thoroughly aged while Egbert's presence is now banned from all stage. All of this post honeymoon now Dob's turning the page. Much like the time Egbert threw a bomb in a church, how much trouble comes next is impossible to gauge. Will it compare to the dragon that's free from it's cage?

Was hoping for another "ways you ruined the dm's plans" but that would just be a play list of all the live shows that dropped at the end of this year.
Merilwen one shoting the boos would definitely feature that list

I had a similar thought. I was thinking, "Ways the Oxventurers Stunned or Nearly Broke the DM." One moment was Merilwen's Windwall spell customized into a Firewall spell and took out the guards. Johnny's reaction was priceless. I wonder if Johnny was thinking, "how did you...!?"
I also binge-watched most of the Oxventures before, during, and after the Orbpocalyse Saga last month and noticed many more times that's occurred. I'd watch it.
Ellen acting as drunk Merilwen is one of my favourite things! She’s just _so funny!_
She's quite talented at acting drunk, but my favorite Ellen Oxventure bit was when she got to be Corazon. Not only did I love everything she said during that adventure, but she appeared to really love it. She had a lot of fun with the role.
@@propheinx2250 I absolutely agree! Ellen just has the most contagious joy, so when she’s having fun with her character, it’s impossible not to enjoy watching her, and getting to mock Corazón a while would be fun for anyone lol

Yeah. I have a fairly low tolerance for drunk jokes, having spent 9 years married to an alcoholic, but Drunk Merilwen really is hilarious.

The “what?” from Corazon at 45:00 when The Barbarian Rage Mode kicks in, gets me all the time.
Drunk Merilwen is easily my highlight of the saga, I kinda wish she'd had a chance to fully let loose because it would have been a hell of a sight

Everything involving the True Heroes of Geth is absolutely top-notch. Impossible to stop laughing at the group's petty antics. Drunk Merilwen is gut-busting too!
Also, considering most NPCs only refer to the group as "who are you people?", having one greet each of them by name with a smiling face is a *major* red flag.
I like to think Andy's reaction to Johnny (realising the boss fight was over in one hit) was also Corazón's reaction to Merilwen absolutely bossing it.
Merilwen's reaction to the engagement is classic. She is definitely pissed off.
Missed the time Egbert commanded Sully to surrender. That was awesome. Maybe for another one of those "7 times the players derailed the DMs plans" videos? :)

Johnny is so fucking good as a dm. Holy shit, I completely forgot how dedicated they were to the story of Orbpocalypse. They genuinely paint how much fun you can have with every situation in your head. Johnny gets it

I wasn't able to keep up with the Oxventures over the last year or so due to life stresses, but things have calmed down now and it's been a real joy to be able to catch up with everything all at once.

Honestly, the entire Oxventures saga just proves that Oxboxtra would absolutely KILL IT if they got to make a show on Adult Swim.
Now I want to know what Drunk Merilwen thinks of Dob and Katie's relationship, seeing her volatile reaction to their engagement.
I hope we see Sully again Jonny seemed so dismayed when the oxventures just waltz through his encounter... He seemed kind of like a demented grandpa, I liked his loveable but chaotic evil vibe!
I forgot all about the "breaded man-shapes". Maybe 'repressed' is more accurate than merely 'forgot'.
I also somehow forgot the brine-and-vinegar-soaked power-move of Prudence chugging an entire jar of capers, too. I guess there were just so many big hits being doled out during the double dinner ruse that it was hard to keep track of them all.
But the Katie angst and drama, though? Utterly unforgettable. That was masterfully played by everyone at the table, and I can scarcely wait to see how it unfolds next.

Thanks for pulling this together for us! It was great to revisit this rich, well conceived and well executed story arch. All of the guild members were terrific. Wow, it is nice to be reminded that Johnny was truly outstanding with their leadership and character work especially making Katie so endearing and suspect at the same time, then pulling off both antagonist roles so beautifully in the final dinner scene. Bravo to all!
At 24:50, I was REALLY hoping to hear the phrase "terrible bardening accident."
My favorite, that did not make the list, was when Andy, Luke and Ellen reacted to what I can only think was a planned crossover with Blades In The Dark where Johnny mentioned that the prison in the first episode was owned by Astor.
Everything is so fucking funny 😄 But my favourites are Merilwen trying to impress or just get influenced by Prudence 😁
I really love the friendship between all the character. This video did a really great job of showing us how the group has changed and gotten stronger as friends through all the mayhem..
Its just so lovely to see how you all bounce off eachother and I think it is because you were friends first but ether way this campaign was amazing.

It was an erroneous interpretation of the rules though. The damage is done to anything within the area of the wall, not anything encircled by it.
@@Fraxxxi yes but isn't that the fun of dnd is to not completely go by the rules they are nothing more than guidelines anyway any good dm will add their own interpretation of the rules for their and the players fun I mean heck a great example is crit rules its supposed to just be double but some people max the hit dye and roll again not having solid rules makes the game fun imo
I know this is two months old but I’d like to clarify that what Merilwen did was actually legal. Everybody always forgets the second paragraph of Wall of Fire that states “One side of the wall, selected by you when you cast this spell, deals 5d8 fire damage to each creature that ends its turn within 10 feet of that side or inside the wall.” So what happened is that Merilwen encircled the zombies and selected the interior side of the wall to deal damage. If they used a physical map then you can get into arguments about how many were outside of that range and if some weren’t how to shape the wall so they were but they don’t so a theater of the mind ruling that all zombies were effected is one that is perfectly reasonable.
Even if it wasn't legal it was still cool af and she is really op without meaning to be
@@shadowedpokefan331 Druids in general are rather op. The fact that they have access to their entire spell list instead of just picking and choosing which spells to obtain during level up is a significant boon. Combined with their plentiful spell slots and you get a magic user that is both incredibly useful outside of combat as well as in combat.
Also I think it being legal actually makes it cooler since if you just ignore rules you kind of dilute the impressiveness of the attack.
I really want to see Johnny's notes for this arc. I have a feeling the oxventure went quite off the rails and want to see their vision

If watch him play as Barnaby in Blades in the Dark you’ll know what an excellent roleplayer he is. I like Egbert, but he wasn’t given the chance to shine.

I found Critical Role to be too much of a let's play. Oxventure puts some much needed humor into watching DnD.
I tried watching a random episode which wasn't part of the campaigns before and wasn't interested at all, restarted at campaign 1 the other day and it's better. But yeah not as funny or charming, and possibly 8 adventurers is too many?
Critical Role is less fun than Oxventure.
Johnny's disregard of the RAW makes him better than Mercer.
Yeah, and my main observation between Johnny and Mercer is that Johnny feels like part of the group while Mercer very much has a friendly teacher vibe about the way he does things.
But yeah, 40 hours in to CR, and OX like I said more fun and charming, I'm still enjoying it though.

Watching this group of adorable anarchists is always a treat.
For me the absolute best moment of this hilarious saga was Luke's/Dob's impression of Vacatus in a dinner with the real Lilliana. It wasn't the funniest moment, but that bit struck me as brilliant in execution. :D

Did we ever find out why Merilwen went all weird at the beginning of this saga? like here with the fire wall, and when the orb absorbed all the magic and she felt weird.
If I remember correctly it's because up to the last level up Ellen didn't realise that Druids are prepared casters so she always just picked a few spells and stuck with those. So that Spiel about absorbing the power and the thing with the orb was their way to subtly redcon why she suddenly has all the druid spells to choose from.
