I think the only reason Carlos knew what was going on is because Helen had spoken to him briefly after Megan killed their mom. Helen was probably able to convince her sister, who she’s very close to, that she would help her cover it up. While Megan went to get her clothes changed and what not, Helen thought she had a minute to call (the person you would want to call the most) for council…Carlos, so she went into to the bathroom where Megan wouldn’t hear her and told him the details. That’s why she was sitting on the toilet fully clothed- she was on the damn phone. Helen may have hung up abruptly because she thought she heard Megan. Megan had heard her on the phone, stormed in screaming with the rifle pointed at her, Helen immediately went into a defensive squatting position with her head down to protect her face and her sister shot her through the top of her head. Carlos probably kept trying to call her back after that and couldn’t get her. After a while he realized he had to just say what was really going on because the damn police wouldn’t take him seriously and at that point he knew his gf may have been shot too.

The question is how long between the two deaths. Meagan is obviously a liar. Obviously Carlos had been very close to Helen. Yeah I think Carlos is the strongest evidence in this case. He knows what is happening and that's why he called police. Maybe Helen didn't think of calling or obviously went up to the washroom to get away from her sister at the scariest moment of knowing her mom has just been killed.

Truth doesn't matter to an emotionally based thinker.
Because truth convicts & hurts their feelings & only their selfish feelings matter to them.
That's why they lie & use their own version of subjective truth & reject absolute truth that convicts their feelings & requires them to discipline & control their feelings.
They just reject truth & love their lie that they say is true, although it isn't.
Same, self serving, emotionally based thinking used by every criminal & the non criminals that use dysfunctional behaviors to enable them, defend them & excuse lying & crimes.

I'm willing to bet that the reason Helen didn't run for her life or call 911, was because after the mom was dead, there was a debate where Megan tried to convince Helen to help her cover it up. When Helen told her bf, all bets were off.
Megan checked both the mom's phone and saw that the bank called, and saw that Helen contacted her bf. I bet Helen never thought she was in any danger from her sister, but maybe she was hiding in the bathroom when she told her bf, and got busted. Too bad she didn't call 911.

My take is Megan killed her mother when confronted with the the attempt to fraudulently transfer funds from Mom‘s bank account. Helen witnessed or heard the gun shots. Megan pleaded with Helen not to call 911. In a state of shock, confusion & fear, she reached out to her boyfriend and confidante and perhaps asked him to call 911 or may have simply called him for support after such a traumatic event. At some point Megan realized that Helen was not onboard with covering up for her and for that reason decided to end her. Either Helen told her outright that she has to call 911 or Megan just didn’t trust that Helen would cover for her. SAD and horrific!

My theory is that Mother Pamela confronted Megan over the wire transfer attempted theft, and caused a huge fight that led to Megan killing her mother. Helen knew Megan had killed her mother, and they spent that mystery 2 hours discussing what just happened and what to say or do about it, this is when & how Helen managed to call & tell her boyfriend Carlos about Megan killing her Mom. Then while Helen is crying in the bathroom over this horrible drama, her sister went into the bathroom and shot her poor innocent sister in the head in silence her and then stage the scene. @Jamal-if7wm the timing of sentencing varies based on the charges, the court that hears the case, and probably some other things. There's probably a lot of behind the scenes things like reports and paperwork too, and in this case sentencing is just a later date than the conviction. She's currently in jail while she waits for her sentencing hearing; it's not like she's free until 1/26 if that's what you're thinking.

You can tell from the photos Helen had such an open and kind face! I feel so sorry for both her and her mother. I think Megan projected her failed bid to get money off her mother to finance her own house by twisting the story and saying it was Helen who wasn't getting a house. I think Pam was still going to build Helen a house but wouldn't give any money to Megan and this pushed over the edge. That's why she killed them both. I'm so so happy she was found guilty!
