Greetings, Bleu! I'm married, 4 kids, turning 49 in July. Been struggling financially my entire adult life. I dont have a college degree, and my job (non-medical field) doesn't pay enough... I'd been examining Medical Coding for a while now, and learning yesterday that I can study independently??! There's nothing holding me back, NOW is my time! I began today, 5/2/24, and expect to have just obtained my certification BY my 50th birthday (gives me just over a year). I've watched almost all your videos, and will be adhering to YOU as my guide toward the prize! Viewing your info as my "Medical Coding Bible"! I'm profoundly grateful you've taken the time and gone to the effort of availing these things to us!! ❤
One of the things I did when I was studying A&P and med terminology was watch medical shows in my downtime to challenge myself to know what they're talking about. ER, House, Grey's Anatomy are great dramas, and I really enjoyed watching ER reality shows on TLC or Discovery. :)
I love watching those shoes as well. I'm an MA with training in several different areas so one of my fav things is to point out medical inaccuracies and stuff that wouldn't either happen at all, wouldn't be legal to happen or just isn't even a thing. So much fun.
I'm going through a university with a self-paced program, and I was overwhelmed with how to set up my study schedule. I've given myself 9 months using the Pomodoro method at 50/10 study increments. Cheers!
Hey Bleu I listen to my med terminology on my way to work, while on break and on my way home. I also write them in the evening. I love your Chanel. 💙💙💙💙💙💙 I work 40 . hours a week and we have a cattle farm and house hold chores . My husband laughs because while checking fence we are listening to medical terminology. In our side by side . He is learning it too. Thank you for all your helpful advice!!!!💙
Thank you for helping me sort my education schedule out I am working part time plus all the stuff I got going on Your channel is an essential part of my learning journey I am encouraged from reading the comments from other people around my age I just turned 61 Thank you Miss Bleu 💙
I love your channel! I've been watching CrashCourse & Ninja Nerd's UA-cam channels (because I hate my text book😝) & then I'll read 15- 20 pages a day in my textbook. Those guys are keeping me motivated through A & P & help me understand the text material. Thanks for the vid! 💙
Thank you Bleu! Before I do any online course, I'm working on Medical Terminology, anatomy and physiology. I'm purchasing the ESSENTIALS OF ANATOMY AND PHYSIOLOGY + the WORKBOOK. I ordered the anatomy flashcards and find them incredibly helpful! I really appreciate your blunt honesty and support!
Thank you so much! This information is SO helpful! I've been enrolled in a self-paced online medical billing course for some months now. I've never done self-paced online anything, on top of being a mom and wife, it's been challenging knowing where to start. This video has helped me immensely!
Thank you for this video. I'm going to be enrolling for the AHIMA class so I'm getting prepared to get into my studying routine. I'm so glad I found your channel.💙
Hi, I just found your channel, great video. Thank you ..I purchased the self paced AAPC course and it’s been a struggle. Thank you again for the video. New subscriber :)
I am currently a medical assistant who has been out of the work field for a while due to a health reason and have been working on getting certification in coding during my down time lately. Previously I had been in a university near the beginning of covid so the entire program just was not very helpful since it was not set up to be as an at home program; eventually I dropped out due to health reasons but have planned on going back to finish my last semester until I found your channel. All of your advice has really helped me come to the decision to self study for the test to hopefully get through the test. Thank you for all the advice and I was wondering do you have any study advice for someone with severe ADHD? I'm someone who is detailed oriented but always struggled with the time on cases. I take too long and half the time struggle to differentiate the correct CPT code. Any suggestions/tips? 💙
Thank you for your comment. Katie. I discussed this on tonight's episode Wednesday 18 Jan. I shared some tips I hope you find helpful. 💙 Best wishes on your journey!
I looked up the guidelines on CMS but it's 118 pages while the book is way less, now i'm worried! Did it expand that much or am i looking at the wrong thing?

💙 Hello Bleu 🙋🏻♀️
Hi Bleu which optum 360 book has the quizzes? I want to buy the right book. Thanks
ICD-10-PCS
I have the old medical coding icd10-cm, pcs, and hcpcs can I use those study and then buy the new editions for certification testing purposes?
What if you have 3 months to finish the certification and study after anatomy?
I looked up the guidelines on CMS but it's 118 pages while the book is way less, now i'm worried! Did it expand that much or am i looking at the wrong thing?
I believe I mentioned it's just the font size. If not, I'm saying it now, it's the font size.
