The genius tactic in war history was to run ships by land. He needed many cannons and the men with the ships in the war. Byzantines put the huge chains from head to toe at the entrance of the Golden Horn. The battleships were carried from Bosphorus to the Golden Horn by the land. It was the most important strategic move of Sultan Mehmet that enabled him to conquer Istanbul. Without this, Istanbul probably would not have been conquered, and Mehmet the 2nd would not have been able to take the name of “ The Conqueror”.

Entertaining. Note: no evidence of use of Greek fire by defenders at the siege. In fact, the secret of its production had been so well protected, it was lost altogether long before 1453. Greatest contribution of the Eastern Romans: they guarded the eastern approaches to Christian Europe for a millennium, giving it time to get back on its feet after a long decline.

Interestingly enough, the Roman identity didn't disappear after the fall, but carried on until just before the Greek war of Independence, as the Eastern Romans thought by identifying themselves with Greece, the birthplace of Western civilsation, it would evoke a greater sympathy with Britain and France, and the strategy worked.
One of the most thrilling historical novels set in the Greek Byzantine Empire during the last Siege of Constantinople, is “The Dark Angel” (original title Johannes Angelos) by prominent Finnish writer, Mika Waltari. Truly epic.
Well done! The only cons are; 1) The lack of ships in this mod! It would be nice to see the naval aspect of the siege, especially when the blockade broke during the battle of the 18th of April by four incoming freighters, 2) There's no large/monster bombard model available as in MTW2 & 3) I think that both sides had handguns at their disposal and the defenders had also crossbows. Other than these limitations, it's pretty decent job!!
The Estern Roman Empire was realy destroyed by the Crusaders, 2 centuries before that, due to internal fights. The "empire" created afterwards was a kingdom with a small fraction of the power of the original one.
In 1204 there were 11 rebellions in Byzantium and the Empire was decaying badly. If I'm not mistaken the Byzantines are the ones who blinded Enrico Dandolo... Trebizond declared independence days before the Sack of Constantinople. Cyprus was already independent. The Byzantines commited suicide, they brought the Crusaders because of their never ending schemes. The result was the Ottomans who succeded them in many ways. That's it.

An epic tale that took place during the siege of Constantinople: on the 15th of March 1453, five ships full of Cretan Archers, under the leadership of Manousos Kallikratis (Μανούσος Καλλικράτης), left the port of Souda (Σούδα), province of Chania (Χανιά) in the island of Crete (Κρήτη), to assist their fellow Greeks and their allies defending the legendary City of Constantinople. After crossing the Aegean Sea and while sailing at the Sea of Propontis, they got involved in a Naval Battle with numerous turkish ships, sinking many of them but also losing two out of total five ships. The remaining three arrived in Constantinople, where the Archers were divided in two teams. The first team under Captain Pavlis (Καπετάν Παυλής) rushed to provide back up to the besieged gate of Saint Romanos (Πύλη του Αγίου Ρωμανού), where Emperor Constantine XI Palaiologos was fighting. The second team defended at the three towers of Vasilios, Leon and Alexios (the names of the towers, πύργοι του Βασιλείου, Λέοντος και Αλεξίου). The Cretan Archers in those towers (the era of cannons had arrived, but Cretan Archers had been famous for their relative skill since antiquity), fought bravely and killed many Turks along with their mercenaries, that even after the Queen of Cities fell, they still kept fighting, killing their enemies by the thousands. Shortly after, the Ottoman Sultan himself, admiring the spirit of those men, granted the glorious Cretans the right to flee the City unharmed. The Cretans, knowing the City was already lost, accepted, and they were allowed to return to their ships in their full combat gear and in a victorious parade they marched to their ships, where they embarked for Crete. On their way back, one ship was damaged and was forced to harbour in Mount Athos - Hagio Oros (Άγιο Όρος), where one of the Monks recorded this legendary mission. Commander Manousos Kallikratis descended from the region of Sfakia (Σφακιά) in Crete, the only place along with Agrafa (Άγραφα), Souli (Σουλι) and Mani (Μάνη), that never fell under Ottoman rule. Eternal glory to our formidable ancestors ☦️🔥🇬🇷

Ma siete sicur8
The genius tactic in war history was to run ships by land. He needed many cannons and the men with the ships in the war. Byzantines put the huge chains from head to toe at the entrance of the Golden Horn. The battleships were carried from Bosphorus to the Golden Horn by the land. It was the most important strategic move of Sultan Mehmet that enabled him to conquer Istanbul. Without this, Istanbul probably would not have been conquered, and Mehmet the 2nd would not have been able to take the name of “ The Conqueror”. Your effort is valuable, but this is a great shortcoming of your work. I hope you will make an edit as soon as possible. Believe me, it would be very nice.
The simple fact is God rules the material world always & everywhere through His infallible law of karma, no one & nothing else.
@@rajarsi6438 Then tell your god to rewrite the law of karma because your god made a simple mistake and forgot to tell Aditu Laudis that he needed to show in his video that Mehmed the Conqueror had conquered Istanbul by carrying ships from the Bosphorus to the Golden Horn. The game used in the footage has no mechanic as "moving the ships via the land", it's like asking him to grow wheat in a rice field
@@mercscar8579 In any case, Mehmet the Conqueror was ahead of his time. Istanbul desired to be conquered by different countries at least 20 times in history. He was the one who conquered Istanbul because no one else could even think of it nor could run the battleship by the land. That needed newer technology as well. Remember, he was only 21 when he conquered Istanbul.

Османы, как и все мусульмане, по истории, всегда брали огромным перевесом в численности воинов. Но даже это, часто не спасало их в войнах и они проигрывали, будучи в большем числе.
One more funny fact :
There is not a single map with a state/ nation as Greece on it before 1830 😉

Does Saladin have any other achievements than Huddin and Qudus?
That's it.

double city walls that havent been conquered for 1000 years and a river from the see to infront of the first wall to the other side of the see so its like a island u cant attack from everywhere because u have to fill up sand to several places so the waves of attacks where only on several chokepoints, militairy strategist say that the byzantine army with such walls can defend againt a 100 000 army at least 6 months , conquering the first wall doesnt mean much because there is a second wall after 20 meters, u have to put large planks to attack the second wall while its raining crossbow arrows greek fire, oil and stones, so what im trying to say is the Turks had much more courage to attack such walls with river infront and after first wall its raining crossbows arrows oil greek fire and stones thats what i call courage to still attack those walls and conquer it!

Ben Fatih’in yerinde olsaydım hiç öyle bir şey düşünemezdim (Gemileri Karasan yürütmeyi) gerçekten çok akıllıca gemileri karadan yürütmek.
Antik Yunan tarihini iyi bilen Sultan Mehmet, Korint kıstağı üzerinden karadan yürütülen yunan gemilerini de biliyordu. O operasyonun daha görkemlisini daha zor coğrafi şartlarda gerçekleştirdi.
