I have this scanner and it's been working great, but one day the frequencies I got programmed in it ,they stopped..
What do you think is wrong with it??
It still scans the frequencies, but there's no talking..
@@tech-x9455 Police and Fire tend to go Digital, then silence. I can still pick up FRS, Bus, Trains, Weather, local HAMS, and a few FDs that have not switched over to Digital.
Thanks fir the great tutorial, Todd!
I use this scanner almost every day, but forget things like this. 👍👍
OMG! What did I get myself into with these bearcat scanners? It looks complicated but I will keep you vids as I go through the learning process. Thank you Sir!
The learning curve was a little nuts, but once you master it, you will find a ton out there.
Traveled back in time to watch this video , thanks I recently found my programming cable for this….or maybe it’s just a battery charge cable. 😊
it may do both :)
thanks for keeping it simple. I had hit a button putting mine in my pocket and couldn't find anything simple anywhere much less anything that worked. I was in the wrong bank of channels. Duh
Thank you for the good video on this model, helped me a lot on an older model to do the same thing. One thing that may help others on this is that on the older models of the Uniden BC72XLT (Nascar) to change banks you do not have the multipurpose knob on top just squelch and volume. So to change banks, after you press Func PSrc when you are customizing your frequencies, you must hit Func then the ^ (2) and v (8) keys to get to your desired bank.
Getting on tomorrow. Other was bad and not working. They break easy
So I am trying to use this scanner for auto racing and I would like to use the preset numbers (1-300) for each drivers corresponding race number. Is there a way to type in or skip to a specific preset without turning the top knob? For instance, I have the #72 car frequency saved in the 3rd back (60-90) as the 72nd preset. Is there a way to skip to this specific preset frequency without having to go to the 3rd bank and scroll until I'm on 72? It takes longer than you would think when you're trying to toggle between a few different drivers and the track radio frequency. Or maybe there is a better way to go about this altogether??? Any help is appreciated.
Page 41. "To manually select a channel when in Scan mode, press Hold, enter the channel number, and press Hold again. The scanner moves to the frequency stored in that channel."
Everything seems to be digitally encrypted in my area , I had one of these scanners and it still picks up Rail road but that’s about it.
We have new scanners here in the UK and we can listen to any police station again its fun again hipee
Nice radio you got there. Thumbs up on the scanner audio...love it..
Thank you Theo. I've seen comparisons with this one and the Icom and the audio was superior on the Bearcat. I'm still looking into the Icom R6 for it's wider range of frequencies.
Whats the police one? Its it rhe samw in tn ans where tour at?
Does Chicago even have a police department, lol? Police scanners used to be fun here in the downstate before most municipalities went digital, encrypted. Nice demonstration of a versatile little radio. Thanks, T!
Crazy stuff on the radio today. A B-threat was made on a McDonalds by a moron. Depressed people abound. Don't shovel that snow, you may have heart trouble. Stealing as a Father and Son team at a local Wal-Mart...it goes on and on.
Sds100
I still need help searching and finding the police area to scan and program in my area
Hey I have set up my custom search range in bank 1 (for me).
However the scanner seems to be stepping in intervals of .50, (notice the flashing 50 on the screen) I’d like it to search intervals of .25. Is there a way to do this?
I tried this all I hear is static, I put the squelch to two
Just bought a new scanner can't pickup anything but the weather
Hey can I use this as a desk top scanner?
By just using a power cube? I want to leave it plugged in and don't want to fry the batteries
Can you do a reset mine won't flash from high to low on police band it just does 155 to 157
Hey , thanks for the video . Very helpful indeed.
What is the Morse code type tones I keep hearing?
Your Welcome soupdragon12345. The tones are usually a Fire/Rescue code followed by a transmission of an order to send out a truck/unit.
What’s the megahertz for Indiana
I've tried to custom search but my Uniden UBC 75XLT scanner just carries on past the frequency limits I've set. Can you help?
Yes
Why can't I get baldwinsville fire
Will this get police transmissions?
Analog or digital?
help..I can't set mine
Anyone have any GA codes?
is there any menu function of close call just like the 396 or 436 ?
function then hit hold
all the channels are static can you help
You should be able to pick up something on the WX band. Try scanning those channels. If you get static, check the antenna's connection to make sure nothing is damaged.
I just bought one. Is it normal to get hiccups on this device? It keeps bleeping every 2 seconds. It's really annoying and i can't make out what people are saying. I am new to handheld scanners. Thanks.
The Beeps usually means low battery.
@@todderbert it's not an audible sound. It's as though the sound cuts off, every 2 seconds. I've got fresh batteries in it. I think this one is defective.
@@1sonic687 I would turn Close Call off. Try HOLD on an active frequency and see if it still is doing what you mention. Also having DLY on is good, since it doesn't cut off too soon on transmissions.
@@1sonic687 Also set Priority to DND, or off since it checks this frequency every two seconds.
@@todderbert thank you, thank you. It worked!!! Fixed. You're the best.
Yeah. I seem to need help
I have the same scanner pretty close to it and I use it for NASCAR races I go on the computer into the program and I input all of my frequencies and names I usually put the names next to the car number I have it already saved so I just open the file and put it in I changed a few names and a couple car drivers and some frequencies if needed but what I found is that for example I find Ross Chastain and he's car number one I go down to car 42 which is Ty Dillon and it says Ross Chastain which never put it there another driver which I inputted was Harrison Burton and I go to car 21 and it still says Matt dibenedetto. Everything is right on the program on the computer then I hit or click save then import and it does it but it never changes the name on the scanner it's fine on the program what is wrong with my scanner, already tried lowercase letters already tried resetting the computer program already tried resetting the scanner still won't change, any thoughts?
This model doesn't support naming.
My owner's manual says this will do citizens band
It does although the receive quality is not great in CB band.
Mine won’t search to 179 that’s what my local police runs on. Any idea why?
That frequency is not available on this model, from my review video: ua-cam.com/video/5_UyM6HcUz8/v-deo.html
Hello I am trying to purchase my brother a police/ fire scanner and idk where to begin I looked on amazon and eBay but I just don’t know which one to go with he already had one and it broke I dnt want to get him a cheapy one that’s not going to hold up I want to get him a gd one but don’t want to spend $400 either could u please help me he’s going crazy without his and I want to get him something nice and there’s so many uniden seems to be the best
I have had an excellent time so far with my Bearcat BC75XLT amzn.to/2EnyeZP , very simple to operate, and you have my videos to help guide you. At $3 more the Bearcat BC125AT is a perfect purchase amzn.to/2BNSWjF . Stays under $100 and you get the bonus Military Aircraft band. Plus that model adds 200 extra memory channels and the ability to name them. The programming software is free and easy to use, though you don't need it to fully operate the radio. Another thing you can do is buy him some rechargeable AA batteries, you will need two. The radio comes with a USB cable and you can use any USB charger or USB port to charge the radio...this is very handy. Batteries I like to use are the Amazon High Capacity AAs amzn.to/2XpZoqu .
does this scan 800 mghz
How do I just program frequencies I already know?
It is a little tricky, I just use the simple PC program they provide and hook the scanner up by USB. Should be on my Review Video: ua-cam.com/video/5_UyM6HcUz8/v-deo.html
Doesn't work for me, button 6 does not select program search, no markings on it except 6.
You may have an older model.
Bought 1 month ago.
@@tonyfendall if it is the BC75XLT , maybe they changed something?
Do you have to download from the computer.?
Will it work without even a better question for me because I have no access to one.
No computer required. The software only backs up your frequencies...I would write them down instead.
can you talk into this radio? We need it to use the landfill they direct drivers with it, but how do we respond? I read the entire manual & cant find anything. Any help would be great
This is a receive only radio. You would need a FRS style radio if you don't have a FCC license. Motorola sells decent units.
This works on trains
I live near a depot, and I hear chatter on rare occasion.
