- It's a new edition of "Thoughts?" where today we'll discuss Guided Games, (more discussion about raids) and how I think the longevity of the success of the feature may be in jeopardy.

Here's a thought for an incentive:
Every time you, a seeker, helps a group complete an encounter, you will recieve Boons of Benevolence. These can be turned in for high quality cosmetics such as exclusive armour and weapon shaders and/or exclusive emotes, maybe even exclusive weapons and armour. They can also be consumed to increase your rating for Guided Games if you are so inclined to do so.
Just an idea that I think could go a long way if implemented correctly.
Sea Hitler or just luminous engrams for every 5 guided games you play
The Casuals will get triggered
Why didnt they just add an ingame browser?
ImASillyName that would be amazing
Bungie doesn't like logical ideas.
Because... they're Bungie.
In game LFG would be good but LFG can also be strict, people want a certain person with a certain loadout
lamakicker69 yeh LFG is MUST HAVE EMBLEM AND 295+
The match making for raids take way tooooooo long. Around 45 mins lol. I can find a lfg team in 5min lol.
well that is cause there's no one offering to be guides lol
BumpOnALog hahahaha thats true lol
Arnes H I tried it a few times and it takes forever!! I'm just trying to find a few for the Nightfall.
Charles Horien same here. Tbh
Charles Horien oh my clan does that every couple of days just send my account a message my name is DestroyRadam
It should just be turned into a general matchmaking imo
David Hayes That would be a huge waste of time. People would just leave
David Hayes for the love that is everything Destiny no. Not just no he'll no.
yeah they really should
Daniel Betz You're mistaken. That was heroic strikes - not Nightfall.
That's my last name too... Cool
Datto trying to learn Italian
Well most Italians don't know Italian, so it can be a challenge (I am Italian and so I know)
I had bad experience with Guided Games connected me with spanish clan which was frustrating. I asked them if they spoken English but couldn't understand so had no choice but to leave. Also waiting time over 45 mins just too long when you could be playing the game then joining the invitation in orbit
SavageRicktator the queue is long because of the amount of guiders that are searching. It’s not bungie fault
SavageRicktator learn spanish Kappa "copa, perro, espada" "mata sol"
Just get the companion app
Me too! Over an hour to connect to raid, then get with a bad team... I was just testing too!
"¿Ustedes hablan Español?" just for future reference. much love, brother
I was 295 and used Guided Games for the Inverted Spire Nightfall. I got matched with two 240s that never did the NF before and basically used it as an 'LFG', rather than being 'Guides'. What a time that was.
Virsputin oi How relevent is route in d2 Kappa
240's should not even be doing the nightfall to begin with. I couldn't do it till I was 280
Hey Datto, I just wanted to say thanks for all of your helpful videos on how to do the raid. After ive completed it twice for the first time, I went on LFG to search for people who need help doing the raid, even though I won't get any gear since ive passed it multiple times per week. I usually try to do/help raid groups once a day as my bare minimum. You have a good heart man. I always refer your videos to people who dont understand the raid as a way to pay back the help you have me. Thanks again, and happy raiding!
What I never understood was why they specifically limited it to clanmates to be guides. What if my friend and I are both clanless and want to play the nightfall together, but we don't have a third, but we can't do guided games and play in the same game together because we aren't in a clan? Why can't guided games be just normal fireteams? Why does it have to specifically be for clan members?
Jim Andreas Gustafsson DRe you need 3 people to make a clan official
Rei Tachibana just go to lfg its not that difficult to find a group for a nightfall
I love how you guys suggest they just make a clan. What if me and a mate are in different ones. It's stupid you have to have a clan
It's not matchmaking
Rei Tachibana you can try lfg. The companion app has one, and there are a couple of websites
If they just put a modified LFG website in the game at a kiosk in the tower, it would have been a far better system imo.
Shinobi_Tactics thats actually a great idea
Shinobi_Tactics what is lfg?
bob jim looking for group, sites where u can find other people to play nightfalls and raids witg
Or just use the app smh
The vast majority of the playerbase is not going to use a third party app. Bungie needs to put it in the game.
Did the Nightfall 6 times as a Seeker between all my characters (304,304 & 305), took 15-25 mins before I got matched with anyone but we did it first try every time. Didn't use my mic at all just to see how it would go with no communication between me and them, 2/6 times the other 2 guys didn't have their mics on either. All the guides seemed to know what they were doing though, even last week with the anomalies. All my experiences so far were surprising good, even while playing with people that weren't talking either. We didn't fail or reset a single one, I did help a group run this week's NF again though because one of them wanted to run it under 5 minutes to get his Rat King, we ended up with 9 mins left.
Watching raid guides (such as datto's) and then finding a casual/first-time raid group on LFG is much easier than guided games. Like datto said, there is virtually no incentive to be a guide for guided games, and especially not when you realize you can be paired up with a ten year old kid that just got to 280, got the game for christmas, starts screaming about some legendary engram he found on the ground, and ignores the mechanics and basic callouts. It's quite infuriating, actually, because the concept is really good, but the execution is just not there.
"Concept good but execution not there" is a pretty good summary for the entire game.
i hate it because IT TAKES SO LONG TO FIND A MATCH
The destiny team really just isn't prepared to have an mmo :\ it seems like they're totally in over their heads and have been since d1 launch.
Alex Wade they are just lazy bro
They're really not, though. You can tell that they put a LOT of effort into the game, they're just trying to please too many different crowds of people and it just doesnt work.
Mike Costanza
>effort
>destiny
Pick one.
Yup agree completely. You can see it so much in D2 as they’ve made it lean much more towards a streamlined FPS, it’s what they know. I feel like Destiny would be best if Bungie handled the lore, art, and some of the FPS mechanics. And had another, experienced team in to work with them to develop the mmo (multiplayer/loot) and RPG (class/subclass) aspects of the game.
The best videos are Dattos Thoughts. they are always interesting to listen to
Dat clan description tho.
"-We're the datto clan-" lul.
I see no issues with guided games in the nightfall but in the raid oh god! No never again.
Harley Pearson no offense to anybody but do you really needed to be guided through this nightfall?? You don't have to be good at destiny for the nightfall this week just not bad.
DivineChaos71 people do guided games to sometimes matchmake if they can’t find a group on Lfg. not necessarily to learn
Guided Games is a mediocre half-measure. What this game needed was an in-game LFG. A sleek interface where you could specify the activity you want to do and a text box of sorts to type in the specifics. Instead, Bungie tried to bend itself backwards and re-invent the wheel with this weird hybrid... thing.
I don't get it. I don't know if it's a technical issue or if they just flat out refuse to do it but I simply don't get why a PROPER in-game LFG isn't a thing.
Guided Games basically IS LFG. Also every game Ive ever played that had in game LFG/LFD/LFR was BAD. You get assholes, idiots, and generally the worst of the worst of players. Every time a MMO i was playing said they where going to add it I just groaned and rolled my eyes.
Guided games is nowhere near the same thing as LFG. Guided Games just throws some rando in there with you. In LFG, you can specify what kind of people you're looking for, the activity you're looking for, the amount of experience expected of them, etc etc... It just offers so many more options.
There is absolutely no reason why destinylfg.net can't essentially be in the game. If Bungie can't be bothered to make their own, just pay those guys some money, borrow their ideas and put the thing wholesale in the game. While they're at it, maybe even put destiny item manager as a separate tab on every character in game so you don't have to keep switching characters and go to tower to get gear.
Bungie should try to learn a couple ideas from the division with matchmaking for any activity
Carlos Hernandez oh so like what warframe has
I like the way the nightfall guide works, I play with my dad but we always need a third person for the nightfall, and it only took about a minute to find a seeker, and he was a pretty chill and cool person, so the one experience I had was pretty good
I’ve been using it to find a third person for the nightfall. In my experience the people I pair with are all over 300 light and know what to do. I’ve done 4 so far. When I tried to match with a nightfall as the seeker it had a 30 minute wait time and as you mentioned you can’t even do activities while you wait.
I dont get why not just put matchmaking in and be done with it instead of this guided shite.
Nightfalls can more then likely be done with matchmaking ,hell 2 out the 3 I did this week no one talked and we finished with around 3 mins left, and raids have so many seekers instead of guides that it would make more sense to me to just let the seekers pair with other seekers.
Except the raid has no in-game explanations of what to do at all. The group is required to figure it all out themselves. Seekers are more likely to not know how the raid is done and so they need guides, therefore matching seekers with other seekers is a recipe for disaster. That's why there is no raid matchmaking.
matchmaking would be an even greater shitshow
Oh I'm fully aware matchmaking will be in general awful, however unless they make Guided Games worthwhile to clans I still think they might as well just up and do it if for no other reason then to shorten queue times since IMO possibly waiting 45mins-1hr or maybe longer I dunno I'm not daft enough to use GG is ridiculous.
so you have no idea what you're talking about but you have an opinion on it, okay. Why didn't you just say that in the first place or just not make a comment on it at all? Matchmaking would be worse than current guided games for raids, I can guarantee that considering that LFG groups already have a high enough fail rate. They just need to get incentives in place and it'll help a ton with getting it working a bit better. It will never be preferable to searching for a pick up group somewhere else, however, if the team is looking to knock it out hopefully quickly.
I think a matchmaking system would be far better than this guided game buisness from what I understand. Sure you won't get great groups all that often but wasting potentially hours doing nothing is getting noone anything which includes experience at learning the content they are going into matchmaking for. It most likely would be horrible a lot of the time but not everyone that goes into a matchmaking system is 100% clueless as to whats going on.
My clan has 10 people but we have done guided games and done it successfully. It only took about an hour and half. We had to teach him how to do the raid but he caught on extremely quick and we only wiped a few times (expected since it was his first time). He was a really cool dude and actually joined our clan. My clan is pretty much all IRL friends, and we all take the game relatively seriously (we know how to play, I've played since day one of original Destiny and so have most of the others) but small groups can do guided games, they just need to know how to do the raid, be able to explain it well, and they need to be good at the game. But Guided games could 100% use an improvement.
I love your channel matey, keep up the good work
I love helping others get through the hard stuff, the more people who get through it the more likely we are to grow as hardcore players, and I think guided games is a great idea, but clans need to be held responsible for the guide part and should complete the raid a number of times (1-3?), I just wish the queues moved faster, because it’s much faster to pull someone from an LFG site than it is to wait.
Thanks for the info. Dont believe I'll rven try it. Thought it would of been cool. But now I wouldnt want to be a burden or feel like I'm being a pain in the ass or something. Maybe it wasnt a good idea after all. Thanks for the info and time you put into your videos. Have a good one man.
The other day i had to wait 24 minutes before i could join a nightfall as a seeker. I told my Guides i understood english but i didnt spoke super well. As soon as i said this these two dudes started using racial call outs and left immediately with penalties. If ya'll want to be like this and not even try dont join as guides on the first place.. Last nightfall i joined as seeker and nobody talked to each other, ever, and we passed with 4 minutes left..
Jeremy alvarez I do nightfall carries every Wednesday (shameless plug). If you ever need help just find me and I'll help you out (providing you're PS4)
Everytime as a guide i ingored them as well just played without talking , not like the NF are difficult carrying a single person is pretty easy.
The problem is that nightfall is a simple strike with timer gimmicks thrown in. People make it out to be this un-passable mission you cannot die once at. Some folks take it way too seriously than it needs to be.
Also im 300+ and all characters. Im not that easily killed at NF lmao
just don't talk. i don't
Our clan has picked up two new people using guided games to play with that we really enjoy. So I appreciate the service
I love your point about not being able to guide if you havnt done the raid or nightfall already. I waited in a queue for 40 minutes for the nightfall this week only to be matchmaked with 2 people 20 below my power level, had no idea how to do the nightfall, and were just generally crap at the game. I was really pissed and I hope they fix this.
Don't even bother with Guided Games right now. Just go into Bungie.net and click the "Find a Fireteam" tab. There you go, saved you 45 minutes of your life.
Charles Brown or you could use the destiny app, which has integrated the fireteam tab into it with a clan chat.
I think that any group that completes the raid with a member has who has never completed the raid should get extra drops.
What people were asking for was matchmaking for raids and Nightfalls which, to some extent, they achieved that. What we didn't want was it to center around clans. What we really wanted was to do matchmaking for these types of content _without_ any barrier to entry (clans being that barrier to entry.) In the current system, it makes no sense for a clan to run Guided Games when they could either: A. Fill up the rest of their group with members from their clan, B. Fill up the rest of their group with randoms via LFGs, or C, just start an LFG on a third party website to find the group for you.
Tonight me (Bownzinho)and Jimbosia have had a really good run doing three guided games through the Pyramidion nightfall with only one issue where the game bugged out at the start. We had a good run where we matched in with two people who would talk and we had a good time with and another who wouldn't talk but could hear what we were saying. All in all I've had a good experience with this addition and will continue to try it.
I have heard some really bad feedback from other groups using this but I've been lucky so far. I hope I have the same luck with the raid too.
What emblem does Datto have equipped? Gold background, red in the middle and a white sword
FMAN honestly man i wish i knew as well
FMAN I got that emblem too but i don't know where i got it ftrom
when you do pub events on the flash point planet (io this week) once you finished the event there is a chance 2 bosses will spawn with alot of health if you kill both of them within 45 secs of each other you get a change for the emblem
Outranked Damn i didn't know that. How did you figure that out actually?
Cast Bound someone told me lol I would’ve not know either
Need guided games for Trials. If you have it for nightfall’s and raids then trials should be the same. If you say trials is higher skilled and requires more communication then the same can be said for raids and nightfall’s.
Jak Dragneel but the same problem may arise where lesser skilled players would exploit it to find people when they should be guiding
Russell Coight like you said it’s the same problem as if it were a raid or nightfall so there’s no difference
Jak Dragneel there is quite a difference between the two. Mechanics of pve can be picked up very quickly, where as trials players can not instantly go from awful to a God during a run. If u have a poor pvp player they will bring u down much worse than a poor pve player. Also a poor teammate may hurt someone's stats if they care about that sort of thing
Yeet Sack I understand however what you just said describes how carries work. Carries are done on a day to day basis in trials anyways so it all works out just the same. Another thing is if you’re hosting a trials carry then you should be prepared to put up with the possibility of dropping your stats. Think of it this way if people cared more about their PvE stats then no one would want to do guided anything because playing with strangers is bound to drop your stats regardless the only difference is that Trials is PvP and people care too much about the arbitrary KD numbers others have.
Minimal I know what you’re saying but what you just said is the same for raids. Yet guided games is still an option. I think there should be guided trials wether or not people use it is up to them.
in some mmos, you are able to queue up for a dungeon while doing whatever activity. I feel like this would flow in destiny very well since there are allot of little things that you can do that take a couple minutes that you can just hop in and out of. this doesn't help the lack of motivation to guide though.
So far my only complaint about guided games is the wait time. When I did it I got matched with a clan that were pretty familiar with the tactics and strategies and were able to get some stuff done
Guided games is Closed for clans that are full with 100 members. I’m in a max clan and I want to help out with guided games but I can’t. I really wish that this was changed so that people could help out
Parliament Films i feel like that has to be a bug that doesn't make sense why Bungie would do that
I would prefer to use PS4 communities
The Mighty Vit what’s that
TheShyArmy Cole It a group that you can make on PS4 and the groups can be anything game. You can find some destiny 2 communities if you go do where destiny 2 is .most d2 communities host raids and trial s
and conversely, the xbox built-in lfg works just as well
My friend and I have been guides for the nightfall once and it was ok, we didnt have enough time the first run, but did much better the second run through. Also we didnt get the emblem for being guides.... I think extra loot would be nice, but we just used it to matchmake a third guy
How the hell are you spamming those grenades? Is that a nightfall only buff combined with the Titan Chest?
Wait, Guided Games still exists?
Bungie should collaborate with planet destiny (creators of destinylfg.net) and figure out a way to implement their Lfg system into the game itself.
I've done upwards of 10 Guided Games Nightfalls(as a guide). I have matchmade with people from France, Russia, Portugal, and Brazil. I'm also US East.
You should get extra buffs based on your Oatherkeeper score that's for the whole clan (like extra clan banner stuff) as well as extra rewards for being a guide. That adds more endgame for hardcore players while getting casual players through pretty much everything the game has to offer.
6:30 was his youtuber bias showing a little... i think hes completely disconnected from what it's like to be a normal destiny player.
Just put in matchmaking with a vote kick option. Bungie just makes things harder than they need to be.
well I've been trying to do the raid since I got the stupid mile stone last year tried guided games I get a full team but it never starts and they all leave
0:03 what emblem is Datto and Fitzy wearing and how do you get it?
If bungie didn't want guided games to be abused as matchmaking, then they should have put in fucking matchmaking. I have a clan now and they are great at helping with the raid. They literally went through six hours of hell with me trying to teach me step by step. But bungie should still have put in matchmaking, even if you have to complete the raid first. And why is there no guided games for trials?
Rhys Brazier You literally went to hell for 6 hours? Stop holding out man, what was it like?
HBSanta 4 hours of calus. Just because I kept forgetting to call out my symbol so we wiped like 60 times. Also calus glitches and where he should have died, in that last stand thing, we weren't able to damage him so had to do it again. Although that only took a few tries cause I knew what to do by that point.
Jim Andreas Gustafsson DRe it's pretty easy to put in a mic required prerequisite before you're allowed to start matchmaking.
Jim Andreas Gustafsson DRe why?
Jim Andreas Gustafsson DRe that's just nit picking. The chances of that are much smaller than you actually think and if you were seriously worried about that then bungie can just put in a feature where you can kick for not talking. Yes it could be abused but then we are just going around in circles. Everything can be abused.
What I want to know: *WHY IS THERE NO GUIDED GAMES FOR PVP?*
too toxic probably
I was referring mainly to trials, duh! Plus people who do guided games tend to be better, so if I could have a guided game to guarantee better teammates, I'd take it!
Apparently there's supposed to be based on game code, just not implemented yet.
why would anyone use guided games to cary people though trials? If you want to get carried then your probably bad, so why would people put themselves at such a disadvantage? the only people that really cary in trials are streamers and streamers are going to get people from there chat, not guided games. Trials matchmaking would be extremely toxic and will never happen
Lacon Combs For trials? That would be a good area but people will get angry and start talking shit to each other
I used guided games as a seeker for the Nightfall because nobody in my 5 man clan was online. The guys were really nice and we cleared it easily, and then we did it again on prestige difficulty and got that done too.
I would say I'm an above-average, fairly hardcore player and I like the idea of guided games because most of my friends don't often do end-game activities and I can use guided games as a seeker to find a hopefully-qualified raid or nightfall team.
I still haven't completed the raid but I know how to do each section by heart now as does my team. Sometimes we just don't have a sixth and we want someone and are willing to teach.
Its funny how there are millions of people playing LITERALLY at one time on D2 and the queue for GG still takes 45 minutes to an hour. Helping 12 year olds and morons through hard content isnt as appealing as Bungie thought it would be when there is NOTHING to get from it except feeling good about yourself...
Or that que is nothing BUT those 12 year olds, morons, and add in shitheads and assholes. People who are "dedicated" to doing Raids already have full 6 man teams that know how things work and know what roles they are going to fill. As Datto said those groups arnt going to take a Rando in place of one of the people they have played with, developed a knowledge of how they play, and work well with.
Randomly pairing people in ANY game is usually a bad idea, especially RPGesque games where teamwork and communication is key. There is a reason why LFD/LFR systems have generally developed a BAD reputation in any game they are used in.
memnarch129 couldnt have said it better myself
Even the most popular games don't have More than a couple hundred thousand players n those ar games like pub g WOW LOL cod etc So THERE ARE NEVER MILLIONS OF PPL ON AT THE SAME EXACT TIME
triigga s A couple weeks ago Bungie said there were over a million players online at one time.
DarkStarMessiah 99897 Some 12 year olds are actually pretty good at the game so don't pass them off as a kid who's bad at video games
Anybody else miss the old Nightfalls that had no timers and kicked you from Orbit if your fireteam died?
EnterTheKyuubi the timer is great edition to the nightfall
EnterTheKyuubi It makes it where you can't just sit back and snipe your way to victory. The timer isn't that hard. They already giving the casuals everything they want please don't take my nightfalls
EnterTheKyuubi Wait? There's a timer in nightfalls now? I'm so glad I still haven't bought this yet
The timer is complete cringe...this game is supposed to be FUN not some fucking sweat fest at every event.
Shane Brown yea you took the words right out of my mouth lol last week made want to never do nightfall again lol
My clan has been running it pretty steadily with 3 raid runs last weekend and we picked everyone up for the clan. Granted, we are selective and won't take super low level people that we don't know, but still, it's been a great experience.
In my opinion , while queuing for these activities you should be allowed to go do whatever you want (go to the tower , any planet to patrol , strike or crucible ) and then you get a prompt on your screen letting you know you have found a group and you can accept or decline .
Not even watched it but I know I'll agree with him regardless
Watched it. Literally couldn't agree with it more. Everything he said is 100% spot on
Can't really disagree with Datto or else he will hit you with the Math and make you wish you disagreed in the first place
sounds like a sheep
Harby lol just because Datto is rational and smart doesnt mean you have to be a fucking tool
Victor Escalante I feel like you didn't get the grades you were expecting.....
here's my experience with guided games: my firend and I, both 304 with decent gear for the raid (coldheart 305, launcher w/ cluster bombs, merciless, etc etc) waited entire 45 min in the matchmaking as seekers . Then we were placed w/ a group of asian(?) guys who had no idea about what was happening. We were able to carrie them through the first part of the raid but then we gave up because they didn't know the strategie and they didn't speak english well enough to understand what we were trying to teach them...
I think we won't beat this raid never :(
(english is not my main language btw)
Michael Ehrmantraut watch raid guides, use lfg and you will do it easily
zac williams thank you so much for the advice! I just did the complete raid with the guys I met in LFG !
By NaughtybDog there are other Spanish people looking to do the raid, you might have to look around a bit on lfg sites but you will find a group.
My clan uses it to vet potential players who wanna join our clan, we can usually tell after a few nightfalls or a prestige run if their friendly, able to help and generally a nice person.
A good video, Datto. Another issue that you didn't mention is that there is no obligation for a seeker to leave a rating. I have been big a guide and a seeker in Nightfall.
We picked someone up ran straight through with no problems at all. As soon as the seeker got his loot, he left the fire team and then left the party without a word of thanks. He didn't leave a rating, either.
Then last week, I went in to nightfall as a seeker. I waited 45 minutes and was matched with two Japanese {I think} players, who spoke no English. This became a real problem when I realised they didn't know you had to shoot anomalies to extend the time.
After we ran out of time three times, I quit.
I've been waiting for an hour at the time this comment was made.
Some say he's still waiting to this day.
Nah i gave up, because i realized i needed a microphone.
Yeah because raids are complex activities that shouldn’t be dumbed down for people who can’t do them
@@sneaklone_ but what if you can't get a squad together? You shouldn't limit activities for people just because the don't have a sizeable enough friend group and as someone who has been using LFG's for years randoms can come together to properly do a raid.
liam khalaf so raids, which are among the only barely difficult content left in the game, should be dumbed down for you and your lfg group of destiny dads who can only play 3 hours a year
This will never happen:
All I want is me and 5 other Ai's who can 100% not fail the encounters with no bugs in them so that the only person who can fail is pretty much me.
So I can complete and actually enjoy a raid for once by using Ai's
(Sometime's people just want to complete stuff by them selfs in online games.)
Never will happen, that and actually flying a space ship.
Fox Wilson brilliant idea
I like the idea of bright engrams and exotic engrams as rewards for successfully running a guided raid
I thought the point was to get more people to do the raid or nightfall with when you don't have enough
I play games heavily by myself, which makes matchmaking more optimal for someone as me. Many of the games I play are Crucible with it's auto match making and Regular Strikes. But in the end I'm in a drought or not ranking up because certain Milestones require you to do a certain place and that place will specifically only have you queue up solo or have to find a party.
I suggested it in my how to fix Destiny 2 video but like how simple would it be to show successful guided games carried for nightfalls and raids in an emblem format. Similar to flawless trials runs or subclass kills.
My clan has helped 10+ people through this weeks nightfall, is that cause we hope for new or great loot? No we enjoy the game and love helping people through all and or any end game events . Great video again Datto love your insight, always appreciated 😎
I think a qualification test would be a good idea (for those wanting to be a guide)
My clan has 100 members and when I tried raiding with them (several times) I only managed to get 2 other clan members to join and the other 3 were from LFG.
It was my first raid run and the LFGer's had more experience than me. I get that the oath keeper score sort of helps with this issue. But its still something to think about with clans being the guides.
def need a reward for being a guide to keep intrest as a mainly solo player i love the guided nightfall as a way to pick up 2 players. i can play on my phone for 10 minutes waiting for a group. haven't tried the guided raid but not intrested in waiting over 15 mins max
I tried to do guided games and its not working just loads me in by myself I even left my clan to see if that'll work and it didn't
Hey datto what gauntlet are those? I have the full Titan raid set like I see you with here but those gauntlets look saucy compared to the raid ones with couch cushions in the shoulders
Why can't we queue and do other activities at the same time...?
it's nice to hear your word man! feeling like there is no feedback on this game, but maybe bungie will listen to you (and i really hope so).
How does the score for the oat keeper thing work? Me and some members of my clan have done the guided NF.. And helped ppl through it and still haven't received any score... Once we're able to get the raid down quickly we'll start doing it for raids.... But have never seen the oath keepers score change after multiple guides..
I like to farm nightfall, so having the guided game option is really good for me because it means I don't always have to have friends online just to do nightfalls, and as long as the other 2 don't repeatedly run head first into the enemies everything goes perfectly fine
As somebody who guided players through raids in Destiny, I’m very glad to see this feature in Destiny 2.
My clan played guided games and the person we found was a really good fit but on the technical side we got kinda screwed. All of our team got a permanent black screen and we had to leave. We decided to wait until the next day and when we all got back together we had to re do the entire raid. Luckily everyone in my clan and the random were willing to re do it and we completed it.
So there are no guided games for leviathan anymore? Cuz i only see for nightfalls and last wish.
For raid matchmaking, they should have a que where you have to have 2 Sherpa 2 intermediate 2 novice as base then numbers can change based on priority and que time
What about clans with members that have opposite schedules? We have 4 in our clan right now, so how do we run the raid before using Guided Games if we have to run the raid before using Guided Games?
So does tether give a damage reduction on the target or whatever?
It did in D1, but now, it’s confusing and I’m not sure
My friends and I play as guides all the time, but the only times I have been able to find games as a seeker was around 3AM EST
He makes a good point about time. I've done every raid apart form this one because I just don't have the time with the way I work at the minute. I'm assuming a raid could take around 3 hours and I don't want to be a guide or a seeker knowing I will have to back out. Fair play to Bungie for trying something to make the raid more accessible though.
This is a bit related to your point about potentially bettering the community, but I've started messaging people who do well against me in PvP to congratulate them on their in-game prowess and that's been really great. I've had some really wonderful interactions with players. I'll also respond to hate messages with calm and even apologetic responses. For example, I'll apologize if I started getting toxic through retaliatory teabagging or dancing (I will still tend to lose it every now and then... not going to lie). I've just really noticed how my experience and the experience of those I interact with, friends and strangers alike, benefits from my positivity. I love this game and community. I hope I can help make it great through my newfound attitude and actions.
Great thoughts Datto
What about differing Compass Emblems for guides and guided, maybe exclusive shaders.
Datto I know it’s still early in the game but can you make a exotic armor tier video?
Doing a raid across the language barrier can be incredibly difficult or even fun. I did the entirety of wraith with everyone but me only spoking french and it was really fun.
I got stuck with a clan that didn't use mics so I had no way of knowing what to do or what phase or etc. was going on at the moment ( on that note, is it normal for guided games clans to have people not using mics?)
just waiting for that one roast bc it’s a dattos thoughts vid
Use the forums on the destiny app its pretty much the same as guide games (if you join a group who knows what to do) and it takes like 5 minutes to get a raid team
Datto I have a question about what Ive noticed when playing D2. When a guardians health gets lower, the guardian seems to take less/dulled damage. Is this true or have i just been tripping this entire time.
LFG under XBL's game hub option allows you to post for exactly what you're looking for making guided games almost a non-option. I don't know if PSN has that or not.
What is that emblem you have on in the beginning of the video? I haven’t seen that anywhere.
A lot of good points here, Definitely shouldn't get rid of guided games but it has a lot of issues. I have feeling Bungie will be relatively attentive to this issue and some changes will definitely come.
I agree. I used guided games to "carry" I guy through the nightfall. And that was nice cause it was the nightfall
I haven't used it yet but I would rather use the Xbox Destiny 2 Forum. It's really good because there are lots of posts for different activities. There are load of tags and options to show what you as a team. And it's easy to get into a team because communication options between the player and poster are very simple and easy.
Datto is there a way to join your clan? Or is it closed to people you only know?
Another thing is that I do guided nightfall’s with my friends because they’re easy enough to run through with just us coordinating. On the raid side the queue time is a deterrent and I know that people in this community are either really patient or really impatient. Which can either make for a good raid or a waste of everyone’s time.
today, my clan did a guided game, we are a spanish clan, but we managed to get two members that really know how to speak english and other one italian, after all, things ended great, we helped a german guy to finish his first raid :D. It feels cool to help people, but I think the same, it is necessary more incentive in long term gaming. And a way to separate qualificated teams from non qualificated... the guy told to us that he tried two guided games before and it was not a good experience at all... (srry for the mistakes, still learning english.. :P)
