At this point I don't even play base EU4, Anbennar is genuinely better, and you don't need to pay 20 bucks for a few half-assed mission trees. The quality of the EU4 mod should make Paradox embarrassed, and I can't wait to see where the team goes in CK3!
yes it's been hard to go back to vanilla eu4. the mission trees just are nowhere near as well used as those in anbennar. I'd really love to see them do some branched options where you can only do 1 or the other. either go left down the tall path with your free city or right down the expansion path and whichever one you don't pick is cut off. way more replayability.
This mod feels different from any alternative fantasy world, the map seems way better made then those classic boring maps, the humans had a key role and remind our times and they had to interact with magical creatures it's a lovely mix I love this

Yeah there’s definitely more branching paths that can be explored from these points (events have a little more detail on occasion) but I felt this was a solid overview of most of it
Usually it would be hard to get into a world/universe you have no knowledge of or interest in, that why conversion mods for stories like elder scrolls, game of thrones, lord of the rings, warcraft are so much easier to make and be successful, but all of those mods are limited by having to stick to a "canon", preventing them from adding more outlandish things and going too far off script. For Anbennar though, since it is mostly generic dnd stuff, it isn't too hard to get into, yet still leaves the developers and writers the freedom to do whatever cool awesome shit with their story and world, and balance it in cool and interesting ways. The EU4 mod is absolutely insane with what it has done, and their approach to decentralized community driven modding and developing has led to a lot of flavour everywhere you look. Will be great to see how the CK3 mod develops.
I wonder how Jaher's conquests will work in this mod concerning he went FURTHER than Alexander and actually conquered "China" in Anbennar, which is completely off the in-game map.
They plan on expanding the map over time just like they have been for the EU4 mod, the initial release will be Cannor, Bulwar and North Salahad but Rahen and Haless will be coming later.
Tbh I wasn't expecting this video but I'm glad it appeared. I recently started reading about some deeper lore of Anbennar and wondered if you'd make some videos about it someday, I'd specifically love to see Bulwari lore video since it's hella interesting!
I have always been interested in playing Anbennar but I am a CK player and completely suck at EU4. I had no idea they were making a CK3 version, I am hyped.
Kinda my thing too. I tried to get into EU4 but I’m not actually a strategy game player - not really anyway. I prefer RPGs for the most part. So this has me excited to at least be able to experience the world.
The human lore is nice, but it all fades in front of hundred's of years long fights and sieges of dwarven holds and thusand's years history of beer lovers

i was kind of hoping for a video talking about the starting situation of the CK3 Anbennar mod, it’s hard to get excited about the lore of something going in blind.
Yeah the "Deep Devils" are just "Sea People" and the onslaught is just bronze age collapse. You guessed it right, only Egypt/Khetarata survived this event. I love how different yet similar Halann is to our own world.
Considering they are supposed to be gods, i was not expecting a deification of mortals, like what likely happened in OTL, what with all the magic present in Anbennar. Dunno how to feel about that. It just doesn't feel right. Maybe if they somehow became powerful like gods, not just a step away from the average ancestor worship.

@@Soul_Tomato Eh, having a CK3 version of Anbennar, the EU4 version and a VIC3 version opens the possibility of a good old Mega Campaign, where you start in CK3, play until the end date, then export the world data into the next chronological game. As far as I know, it's never been done with a Mod before, although they're not as popular as they used to be, not even sure if you can import CK3 data into EU4 thinking about it. I know you can with CK2. Meh.
This video inspired me to redownload EU4, subscribe to their service to get all the DLC, download Anbennar, launch it, and remember I have never figured out how to play EU4

i wonder how the magic system will be done in this one? considerng magic was quite a big part to the game in general like literally 200 days for one siege tick to go by or instantly sieging down castles wonder what versions of those spells will remain or be in their *infancy* stage looking orward to what happpens to this but for now ill LURKE

Where you basically can cookup some spells but theyre not as effective but it would give alot of flexibility or something along those lines maybe?
That could be really cool actually. It depends on the magic school though since there would be several obviously. Idk if that mechanic would work as a catch all.

Correction: Anbennar is not dark fantasy, it's mainly high fantasy. Fantasy with dark elements does not make it automatically dark fantasy.
