@David 06 didn't solve it 07 did. 06 only solved the charging issues and went to a pinch bolt swing arm and a couple minor changes to front suspension.
Carb jetting is a little lean that’s why it shoots fire out the exhaust. That’s not good for the motor it means it runs hotter than it needs to. It needs more gas on the jets and afr screw.
Each bike has parameters to be between. You generally wanna aim for the middle of the required specs for the model and year of your bike. These YFZs were known to get tighter over time so you check adjustment and use shims as needed
Can't go wrong w/ YFZ450s! Older or newer. 2006+ are the better ones. 2009+ are the best ones (fuel injected). Have a '10 YFZ450X Bill Ballance edition. Mint. Will never sell! Run Maxima semi-synthetic 10w40 oils in all your high performance 4-strokes!
When a mechanic does more then what he has been asked to do and doesn’t charge you better keep him on speed dial.
True there always gonna come back to you if you go the extra mile :)

When ur checking valve clearances, is there a specific size one you use for all bikes? Like a sweet spot for exhaust and intake
