That's a real nice setup.Affordable, reliable and even competitive if u wanna race it. Nice! So reflashing the ecu won't affect a piggyback fuel controller like pc5 ? Do they work well with each other?
If you already have a PC5 you probably do not need to have your stock ECU reflashed. According to PEP tuning, comma you have a wider range of tunability and features with a piggyback controller than the stock ECU. If someone needs help with their PC5 or a stock ECU reflash, comma PEP tuning can help..

If you're going to go with a high compression piston and a Cam in your machine you might be better off to go with a vortex at that point. PEP tuning can help you with tuning your vortex for whatever setup you want. A piggyback tuner would be a more affordable option as well. Still more capable than a stock ECU reflash.
We would like to do a stage 2 like you're talking about. Currently this motor is being rebuilt with a yes slightly higher compression piston, Cam, porting and valve work. Perhaps we will shoot it when the motor is back in. We have some cross country YFZ projects in the works as well.
This came across my mind and was wondering if a wiseco high compression piston will work with the 250x/ex motor or will it throw the reliability of the motor out the window.
They definitely still get used. They're just a little on the expensive side. If we were adding more motor mods we would definitely consider one. They work great.

Even though they don't make it anymore the kfx450r is a wicked atv for xc racing/trail riding. I'd recommend that atv for that style of riding way more than a yfz. The yfz is good but not kfx good.😏

The vortex ecu is the best option in my opinion. Completely changes the way it runs.

I wonder how this would compare with a 'big 3' modded LTR. I love both machines with a slight lean towards the Suzuki
We would expect the Suzuki to have a slight edge in power with equal mods. The LTR was a great machine.

So by sending in your stock ECU to get reflashed, it will eliminate the engine running lean from factory?
Yes. You can have it reflashed for an aftermarket exhaust or with the stock exhaust if you want to ride a stealth fighter.
