  • A step-by-step tutorial on how to sew inseam pocket with lining as part of the main garment.
I am using light soft iron-on fusible interfacing.
Apply interfacing along the pocket opening on the front part of the garment, to straighten the pocket area. Interfacing should extend a side seam and pocket opening marks by 1 cm.
Place the interfacing, adhesive side down, on the wrong side of the fabric. Use an iron on a warm setting and press one section for about 15 seconds. Use pressing instead of gliding motions. Lift and repeat until the whole piece of interfacing is fused in place. Once you finished leave fabric to rest for 15 minutes.

Thank you ! But I thought this video will show how to add side pockets with lining in a garment. The heading also says so.

Lovely video. I'm adding in-seam pockets to a skirt which I want to also add lining. Am I right in thinking I need to add the pockets to the lining fabric and then the outer fabric will just have a hole which will line for the lining with the pockets?

Hi, thank you. Yes, you need to attach lining and then do a side seam. Good luck!
