This... This is Beautiful! You're harnessing the essence of spring within your seams with that lining. The jacket is so clean, you're really honing your skills.
Making this jacket with a lining and it turning out decently really does feel like I've finished the boss in this level and I'm moving on up to the next :)
A+!!!! This is a great video. I'm s glad to find you! As a mom of 2 creative men, I appreciate watching you master your skill, with such a clever presentation. Thank you so much!
Your Vlogs are a treat to watch. Super job on the jacket, great funky lining well done with Jim's help. As usual, music is great, together with your Mennonite friend, plants and your jacket, just perfect, definitely an A! Your a♦️in the making, now the 🌎 is your oyster👌
You really do know how to flatter. The floral really did work out well and I have a soft spot for them :) I am trying my best to just get a little better every week, be myself and harness my ambitions. 😁
Great video, thanks! QUT Fashion Studio, that's my old university in Queensland, Australia. I had no idea they had a you tube channel for their fashion school. Thanks for bring to my attention ;)
Dude...Awesome job! I cannot believe how well your lining turned out on the 'first try'. I am a beginner who has been trying to master the jacket lining and I always have problems and it never looks good. Yours looks so good, you could probably wear the jacket as a reversible.
Well thank you for the kind words. I am really happy with how it turned out as well. It turned out better than I expected. I wish you all the best with your sewing projects as well.
That's an A grade job, if I've ever seen one! The lining is a fresh surprise for anyone not expecting that flash of color. Do you label your work? You should.
A++++!! it looks awesome!! also I wish I had your green thumb every plant ive gotten has died except for my catnip only because I put it out side and left it alone lol
Well you are mighty generous, thank you. I wish you'd been my teacher in school :) As for the plants, Mennonite Corns' tip is don't overwater, especially when they're in containers that don't drain.
@@CorneliusQuiring I am a bit worried though. That silky lining fabric looks that frays easily and I'm concerned that you didn't use the serger to sew the edges together. I hope it doesn't fray on the stitches.
@@inktrooper. that is a valid point. I watched several tutorials and none of them finished the edges. Time will tell u guess. Let's see what happens when I use it. I appreciate the concern though.
@@CorneliusQuiring Yeah, you're right. I think tutorials don't tell you to finish the edges because they need to seem achievable to the average person, and if they show a serger machine I believe people would automatically think: "Too complicated" and skip it. I hope it holds well because it's beautiful. Great work, man!
@@inktrooper. I see what you're saying. This is definitely not my last jacket I make, so I will consider improvements like this for the next one. I appreciate the feedback & thoughts.
@@CorneliusQuiring I made a boo boo tonight on my machine while cleaning it. Sheered a screw head off my position arm, so now I'm off tmrw to see if there's still an old machine in the thrift store. thankfully I have two other machines at my disposal, but I like my singer 248 in the cabinet 😭😭😭
@@AideninBroland oh no! That's a shame. If you feel confident in your handyman skills, drill out the sheared screw. Either way, hope you get your issues resolved 😁
Omg I’ve been looking for hours and finally a video that shows how to cut out a jacket lining with the fashion fabric facing on it! Thanks
Oh wonderful, happy to have been of help. Hope yours turns out well!

Very cool jacket! Jim would be proud.

haha. Well I'm glad you watched anyway, Indeed, you got this!
I get confused with the holes and the turning inside out but I think I need to try and make my first one.

I really love your jacket! Is the pattern self drafted?
Well thank you. Yes, it is completely self-drafted / cobbled together based on other UA-cam videos. 😏

They're store display mannequins.
Why is this so long?
