looks better than No Mans Sky - and i could be mistaken- but it looks like you can see the other people youre playing with. well done.

It has this early "access label" on it, which drops all questions and complains that "No man's sky has".
But the chances of meeting another player in the vastness of space is so slim!

The lighting from 09:40 to 09:50 is epic. From realistic hand-held lights to realistic sunrise in 10 seconds. Not sure if the current version is even capable of that!
The visuals never cease to blow my mind. Love the low poly direction!

The game is in 1.0 now and i'm coming back to this video after a long time just to see how the game has changed. All of you developers that have worked on the game have done an amazing job... Including the ones that were lost to the stars along the way.
First game I've really gotten hyped for in literal years. Thank you guys for having this passion!

This is old. What you see here has been scrapped to make the game more "cartoon-ish" and slightly more simple. I am not sure if they will re-add some of the things here. Just give them some time.
The style of the graphics fits really well, It is soothing.

Wow, 2 years of Development and it all came from this... Its actually a sweet feeling thinking that System Era has come so far updating and improving the game to the point where the full 1.0 release is just a few months away!!

This is one of the few videos where the devs don't overly praise their game. These devs are really letting the game speak for it self. I can say one thing confidently this game will be in my cart soon.

This is quite impressive. It's very polished for a pre-alpha demo. The models and animations look really clean too.

I just loved how astroneer used to work, I wish it still looked like this.

Cant wait for this to come out!! 1 suggestion though, eventually add orbital mechanics, it would make the game 1million times better.
or at least you pilot the ship yourself rather than automation. As in there aren't any orbits, the inverse square law happens a lot quicker, basically instead of orbit, totally no gravity so you just float.
I play this game on the early access and I love it it amazing walking around and fly to each planets you guys have done amazing job

you guys are doing an amazing job! I love this game. It has so much potential.
So besides crafting and walking around and destroying terrain. Is there a goal? Any life form interaction? How in depth is the building? Can I make a farm? Can I put vegetation on a planet?
Not bashing just curious because after NMS, I just can't trust anything anymore.
adurga100 they do plan on adding stuff to it this is the beginning stages of the game and it already looks really good

Here is the list of things they are planning. They have scrapped most of the things you see here in this gameplay and replaced most of the building, models and others. But the game mechanics stay the same. I am not sure if they will re-add the things seen here with newer versions or not, but I feel that the scrapping was a downgrade, however, I still have hope that the game won't turn into No man's sky.

1 year and 7 months since this video! I've been playing Astroneer a while and the art and building concept is so different from what it is today. Looking at this video now, I think I like this video's base building more. The launch pad looks so much more better and the lines connecting each segment looks less cluttery than the chubby tubes in today's game.
I'm wondering what ever happened to the ice drilling and water idea? Will that be released in a later update (along with the raspberry/food-looking item from those purple aliens on the moon)? Can't wait for the next update!!!! Great job on this game System Era!

The reason people ask a lot of questions about flight is Kerbal Space Program - which has excellent, gritty, immersive flights and landings but you feel the lack of a real outpost building gameplay. So in a sense this game could realise these hopes.
I would love to see this game on the switch! Imagine the local multiplayer fun!

Very cool. Little suggestion is maybe add a LoD effect to the ship when it flys back and forth so it looks like a bit of a bright star in the distance.

I love these! The game looks cool, but I probably wouldn't have liked it as much ifnyou guys haven't done these videos. For some reason they just made me look into the game more. Please do more game dev videos like "building a planet".

Played the Xbox one trial today, bought the game 5 minutes later! Love the idea. My only complaint so far is I fall through the world quite a bit. And dieing has no real penalty other than needed to go loot your body. Also, love the music and sound design, so relaxing!
