Every time I see your team playing this game it reminds me of how much I want to play it :) Looking really good so far!
and here we are... ;-) more to come...
Ah, never thought to see you here.
Big fan.
2 minutes in, already better than No Mans Sky
shhhhh ... dont be like Sean .. just shhhhh
I Agree
Have you played it? it's way more fun than no mans sky
just got my refund, its fun but there is nothing to do after about 3 hours
There should definitely be some kind of combat. I know its more of exploration but it would kind of give you something to be afraid of and be cautious. It doesnt need to be just full of combat but it would be nice to have some sort of combat system. Heck even space combat would cool. Just other space explorers...some you can trade with, some you can exchange research, some that will just attack you to take all of your stuff. I have so many ideas for this game. I love the look and the way everything works. Love the fact that everything you interact with is 3D and not just some stupid menu.
I agree.
$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$
Will there ever be support for farming? Specifically, the farming of organics could both be realistic and useful.
A farming feature would be amazing...
Go Away you can't really farm in space unless you have oxygen
MrScrapy nice ;)
or a vacum so you dont destroy terrane getin gorganics
Go Away yeah that would be grand :O think about your own hall full oft plants ^^ maby producing oxigen
1:05:12 "you're useless to me right now"
*runs away*
lol
Hahaha! xD
You can see how much thought went into the design of the user interaction, really amazing for such a small team.
I really like this game and it's just what I'm looking for can't wait
Sono Yamia I hope they add water or oceans into it that would be awesome
Yeah, then they can make some boats and subs. The only thing this game is missing some sort of adversity other than nature.
2 days sono 2 days i cant wait either
im so excited for this game
@Degrasword yes. Yes i have.
I hope this game grows and develops into something magnificent. I pray you all find great success! Thank you for creating something fresh. I hope you continue to interact with fans and interested persons and listen to feedback. These people would help mold it into something great. If it was on Xbox One, I'd buy *INSTANTLY*
Di General (Why do people always argue in my reply/comment section) it will be in xbox one on December
This is golden! To watch you guys playing the early build of the game... Fortunally I got into it quickly after release, and gave my colleague a copy so we could play together... Now you anounced the 1.0 release during E3-2018 for december 2018... just wonderfull guys!
Amazing to see how Astroneer has come since 2016. Well done guys!
its very nice to see a game dev playing their own game, even better LIVE on TWITCH answering normal viewers questions, not corporate bullshit pr journalist inquiries. Many teams can learn from you guys in this aspect alone. I wish you the best of luck on your projects and i will keep an eye on this!
You are doing an exceptional job with these livestreams. Your passion for the game really shows and you're great at balancing gameplay, answering questions and speaking about development. I can't wait to finally get my hands on the game!
Really awesome! I cant believe Astroneer will be released today! I am following this game for a complete year now and i can't wait to play that game this afternoon!
Wanted to say, been watching this a long time, and that no mans sky comment is a total JOKER. Obviously you guys have tougher skin than to even consider that as a real comment, but this game looks so great, myself and a few friends are eager to jump in in December. Thanks for this extensive play through, and the music is wonderful, really lovely.
its the little things that makes me look forward to this game, one of them being the compass that surrounds the astroneer, minimalist UI, inventory is right on your back.. Can't wait to play and make videos in December.
I love it how the "ui elements" have a different scale, but they seamlessly transfer from the backpack to the game world. That's a brilliant detail.
This game is amazing! This will be HUGE!!! Stoked to see where you and the team take this.
Watching in 2019! I so love to go back and see how it all started, Adam was streaming regularly.. guess this was 'before Joe' Time... ;-) 2 years and so so many people have been falling in love with this game! Discords and chats and 'Looking to play with others' section has given me many friends from all over the world.. I'm still not a great player and have not done everything there is to do in the game... but boy! What a ride!! Thanks to that ever expanding team and the great interviews and vlogs and streams we have seen... Feb6 is around the corner! Whoop whoop! ;-) Greats from Holland mates!!
Thank you for doing these videos. So good to see devs showing what's going on and answering questions. Looking forward to early access in Dec. Keep up the great work.
Love the potential that this game has. I've had a blast playing it since it became available on Steam. Keep up the great work!
Okay, there was a comment at the 1 hour and 36 minute mark which stated "this game looks just a bad as No Mans Sky." This personally makes me very angry. If you don't like the game, just don't comment on how you think it looks bad, you haven't played it, and it really probably disheartened the Devs since they have put so much hard work into this amazing looking game and I can't wait to get it. It's just really rude to just say that when they're showing off their hard work to all those people, me included, who thinks this game looks like it has a lot of potential, and from these small snippet of gameplay, I think that this looks at least 10x better than that £40 that I put in to No Mans Sky, and the simpler and cleaner "UI" really brings me in. This game is going to be great, I can already tell, and will keep more of an audience because of the co-op and it being in Early-Access will mean that it will have a time for improvement and people knowing that will mean that it will keep its audience throughout. I just can't wait to be a part of the development, and will definitely be pointing out bugs and telling the company improvements they could make.
Back to the comment. I hate the toxicity of people; people shutting down people's morale and feeling of achievement with a small phrase. If I was going to give a message to those kind of people: just don't comment on it. If you don't like the look of that game, that's okay, but other people do, and the Devs have big dreams for this game; so let them dream.
+EternalDesigns well said. The whole toxicity surrounding NMS has been astronomically apalling and it has been leaking to other "space exploration games" as well.
I've generally avoided the NMS hype, played with it for probably a few hours on my friend's copy of the game, then accepted the fact that (although it's sad, because I really wanted to see the game succeed) it's just a glorified Screenshot Simulator 2016, quietly buried the game in my memories and moved on. No need to shit on other people who actually liked the game, or even those who wanted to build on what NMS failed and come up with something better, like the guys at System Era are doing right now.
It's just so fucking stupid having the whole hate circlejerk of NMS leak out to other games, especially with promising Early Access titles like Astroneer. To those people who are still trying to compare this game to NMS, just stop. You're literally comparing apples to oranges.
resir014 can we just forget NMS I personally still have hope for Hello especially with that foundation update being released grit gives me hope for the future. But why can't we just forget about no mans sky for the time being and leave people be. This game looks amazing and similar to NMS but these devs made a desicision that made NMS fail and that's PR and price.
Hello made their game 60$ for an early access beta because they were too excited to just release their game, system era did exactly the opposite which is the difference that will really bring this game to success
I would say the "No man's sky" level quality is a high standard for a pre-alpha, most games would not look nearly as pretty, and there is a lot of time left before it even goes into "beta", let alone a feature complete version. that it is comparable to any "full release" game is quite the accomplishment.
Well, i love NMS and think this game looks great too. It's all about having realistic expectations and not overhype every single upcoming game...
I think Astroneer has some real potential. The devs seem friendly and the game itself seems unique. The art style is simple yet imaginative and i am honestly looking forward to future updates.
I like the way he focused on the planets when landing,so we would no see all the stuff on the planet surface loading in..Smart move.
Love this game, got it yesterday on the xbox one, love the searching for items in caves and exploring. Keep up the great work, looking forward to bug fixes, def a game worth keeping and helping the Devs out by reporting the bugs / problems in the game.
love how you can dig and build up the land like play dough. love it, for sure getting this early access
this game looks SO amazing
just the animations mechanics and textures and all that
excellent
good job keep it up
When he said he was Canadian I felt a connection also loving the game so far looks amazing can't wait for full release
I think the thing that would make this game an incredibly compelling is unique, specifically designed worlds. I feel like once the game get going and in full stride; something like community submitted worlds and world editors would give the game an insane sense of depths and replayability
I'm saving my money, refraining from bf1 for this game. Don't let me down!
I was literally, waiting for 30 whole minutes just waiting for someone to ask the mac question. I am so glad they did tbh
You guys have come so far, don't stop now!
Oh man, I'm so excited for this game to drop tomorrow, buying it asap, keep up the great work!
Bleps! Agreed
Good job, I would recommend adding more resources, a little hopping vehicle, some little building blocks just some simple cubes, maybe make the wind blown rocks deflect off the cubes, and I'm assuming there will be 'moving' life forms other than the cyst trees... I think this is a great and beautiful game so far and I believe you will make it an even better game.
best wishes, Travis
I love this concept, I can't wait to see what they do with this game. Also, I love how fast he said "no further comment" when it came to No man's sky. That's so funny
adding even more content into this game and it will be a great great game indeed.
One of the thing that make game like Minecraft or Shadow of Collosus so endlessly playable is the background music. Even in its earlier form there was always this amazing score that really convey a sense of loneliness and tranquility that every 45 mins or so you sort of stop what you're doing and just look around and listen to music. I am not trying to undervalue all these other important aspect you're focusing on; but I definitely think that background music and mood of the game is just as important.
I saw this on steam but didn't advance as far as the product page. I'm glad I saw this video about it.
I have space engineers and similar games but this just looks friendlier than space engineers.
Probably will crash less than SE as well....
I never had crashing issues on SE, but I only played it for 17 hours total.
I literally put over 12 hours into Astro yesterday, I find that it's so much more fun and interesting.
when im here with 277 hours on SE cx
id just recommand playing with friends or something. like actually Talking with someone while playing the game. if ur not it might get a bit boring to fast. ( thats why i Love games with multi and dont like single player games so..)
It would be awesome if you add other danger factor than running out of oxygen. Something like comet storm or other hazardous elements (plant or alien) would make the sense of exploration more interesting.
I would also like there to be unique structure / resource that encourage exploration rather than just survival.
if you look at some of their past streams, they have sand storms that throws debris, poison plants... they've mentioned of adding more but are focusing on the core game atm.
just reminds me of the good ol days of minecraft in its early days.
Hey Robert
That really awesome. Yeah - I just saw some stuff about hazardous plants in the case. I'm really excited for this game.
MrDJCoulton for sure ^_^ this is just the base of what we're getting, they can and I'm sure they will go up from here
I've been playing on Xbox and I really like this game. Can't wait for it to grow and expand.
No joke, I am more excited to buy this game than I was about the birth of my own children.
:-P
(Okay it was a joke, but not by much!)
theQiwiMan if I were your kid, I would understand if you put me up for adoption to play this game :)
Ha fingers crossed your mrs doesn't see this
theQiwiMan it's coming out tomorrow
MrSaCh GiRv so you think they would release it at midnight?
kind of hoping for a smoothing tool or someway to build building like structures to "live" in
there is a smoothing tool in the latest build
BobsNotYourUncle Awesome
who else came back for the memories? loved this series its crazy how for the game came
I’ve come back because I sadly never knew they had a UA-cam channel. I am so haooy I found this.
is there any antagonist in this game? like dangerous alien parasites or any wild life.
I mean the game looks very cool, but the game needs something that get you kinda scared to go on a trip unprepared... that's my opinion
There are a some dangers, but they are plants and weather...so far
Plants, Weather, Toxic Gas, as well as suffocating from lack of Oxygen; so far.
I think the idea is that environment is your biggest danger in this game.
there’s a planet with sarlok pits does that cut
Honestly, this is the game I had never seen coming and a game that is going to become a huge title. I'm really amazed at how well the size of the game doesn't hurt the result! Your vision is something Nintendo would love to have everyday.
Yep, I bought it and I really, really enjoy it. Just hire you have it, it's already a game that draws you in and keeps you pushing forward for more. Once you're nice and settled in on a planet, building a wall around your entire compound is great to keep your work going while the winds kick up.
Yeah, this game is going to WRECK other space games in the same genre. If you've got slow internet, just buy it already... *at its current state, 486 MB download!* Once it's completed, I really see this game going north into a AAA price range.
I can't wait to see optimization as well as support for Intel HD520/HD620 graphics. It runs at a constant rate of 8 FPS on my ultrabook with an i5-6200 with the HD520. Let's you know that there aren't any optimizations made for Intel graphics as of yet. Still, it's great on my GTX 980M gaming notebook with its CPU/GPU both underclocked.
BTW
To the Devs:
What is your e-mail address to contact you on polishing the game and found bugs?
I like it so far, The game will freeze here and there but so far its looking good!
agree the crash too
Man, when the designer cycles through items to build on structures, it resembles the Windows "critical alert" sound. Ek!
Awesome (pre)alpha. I watched the whole vid a second time today, can't wait for december.
Holy shit, Astroneer is exactly the game i want to play.
Gather stuff, build stuff, explore stuff.
I was so hyped for Subnautica, but I was kinda disappointed by the fact they didn't go for multiplayer or co-op. Games like these are maybe to be played with friends, there's no fun in exploring stuff all by yourself. It's more exciting if you share the experience with someone.
its so cool to see what the best game of the world has become in 4 years
the art style kind of reminds me of Terra-tech in a way, simple but still quite appealing. looking forward to playing this in the near future.
I really want to say thank you for this game. It reminds me the feeling when I first play Minecraft. I like the idea of 3D UI and beautiful design overall. Btw I played 5 hours so far, no crashes, no bugs.
Dang, this has come a long way since the announcement!. Its looking really great!!.
very impressive.
Game mechanics seem to work well for an Alpha.
Would love a save game key though, just to be able to save often in case of a crash
Seemed to save pretty often on its own, e.g. when you enter or exit a buggy (no pun intended).
yea only noticed after paying for a while :)
wait u Payed for the save cx i think u mean Played cx
Can't wait to play, but I think the spaceship should point towards the way it is accelerating.
so cool and amazing game cant wait
Very chill and relaxing game, bought my 20$ pre alpha for Xbox one and I'm loving it.
This game looks fantastic. Are there plans to implement airlocks and atmospherically sealed base structures to live in?
The game looks amazing - dare I say this is what everyone wanted from No Mans Sky
I love how this game is progressing, amazing work guys! I hope people stop comparing this to NMS. Regarding future platforms, is ps4 ever going to be possible?
Kegan Holtzhausen Agree people should stop Camparing it to No mans Sky and not over hyping Astroneer. As for your question not at the time being until they add a game preview like Steam,Xbox and Windows 10 sorry man :( Not sure if Sony did add a game preview program or not I'm a Xbox Player so yea ...
May I ask how you came up with the visual style? It is spot on - one of the things I always feel it's worth hiring a good artist to do (unless you have this kind of talent in house).
ikr
This looks very interesting and I'll be watching the development.
I bought this game yesterday. Played 4 hour. Its just amazing. Sometimes i had fps problems but its ok.
The perfect game: Asroneers with fauna, scanning, lore
love the vehicle mechanics.. so squishy, so entertaining looking
I'm loving the game play and streams. I'm Def going to buy into the game preview. I've never paid into a preview but this game is the exceptional.
10th 2017 and we still don't see any of those "rail system" stuff. This ought be called "Cubeworld 2.0".
hey hey, just watched both videos and was wondering if there is closed alpha or something =) i am a big fan of survival games and this looks great =) (Release is dec 31 right)
it's december 16th i saw it from steam
I think it would be awesome if there was an automation feature. Maybe similar to Kerbal Operating System (KOS) from Kerbal Space Program. Will there be mod support?
man, it's been half a decade and i still want mod support :c
This looks awesome!
Love the game so far! Played it for several hours last night. :)
My only complaint so far is that the fall damage is brutal, especially when the game kind of sends you airborne fairly often. I found that on the 'moon' with the lower gravity it was really easy to end up falling off edges you meant to walk down, and even with the lower gravity the fall damage was still really high. Haha.
So impressed with this game! Been following for a while now and I still get the same magical vibe from it as day one.
I was wondering if the box for research was a temporary asset?
I found out about this game 2 days I ago and I'm hooked keep doin watcha doin
Bought it on Xbox and I am LOVING IT :)
Can your spaceman float around (swim) in any anti gravity scenarios?
This game looks to have great potential. I will be picking this up in December on preview (Xbox One)
Also just got to the part where you added multiple rovers together to make a train. Will the power transfer between the rovers connected?
best thing youtube ever recommended me
I love how the game plays and looks so far. keep up the great work. you said during the stream that you are working on making it a play anywhere game, when do you think it will be ready for ps4
actually they are focused on PC first then Xbox One they have not said anything about Ps4 yet.
Honestly, this is the game I had never seen this coming and the game I know is going to become a huge title and I'm really amazed at how well the size of the game doesn't hurt the result! Your vision is something Nintendo would love to have everyday.

To the Devs:
What is your e-mail address to contact you on polishing the game and found bugs?
This is awesome , buying now , also sound effects are so damn cool
I MISS THIS SO MUCH
Pretty sharp haircut bruh.
Also I'm excited for this game, looks fantastic.
love the art style, looks really promising!
so excited for this game. The guy that said it looks worse than NO Man's sky didn't watch the beginning
Love this game, been playing for 2 days on Xbox and just wow.
danqrl yeah I have Xbox and the three games I want for Christmas are this, Subnautica and Stardew valley
Definitely buying when it comes out
Wow this game looks amazing! Glad it randomly popped on my YT page! And the developer seems nice wich is good, mb it wont get stuck in alpha for 4 years! For sure gonna keep my eye on this
Love this game, guys. It is smart, entertaining and cool as hell.
Finally, part 2!
amazing stuff, this looks really fun to play. insta cop on day 1
This game looks really cool!
"I guess you will have to sit down in December to find out." -Adam in 2016 "Well I don't care, go and figure it out." -Adam in 2017 (my theory)
the lack of interface is really nice i like the style of evrything
love the art style, bought ;)
I want this series to keep going, however, I understand that developement should be first priority and not Let's Plays.
Boy, have we come a long way from this
I love this game and I haven't even played it yet, I did a marathon of watching all the videos that exist of it so far lol. When will it be out?
I love this game! gonna buy it day 1 !GO TEAM ASTRONEER!
I feel like the space ship should give a noticeable improvement to the range you can fly between planets
