I found the folder on my phone and deleted the duplicates years ago. Worked perfectly. Im trying to do the same thing now and delete those copies, but I cannot for the life of me find it on this newer phone. It's my phone, let me see the files!
@abhichi it truly depends on what model phone you have the only way I know now is to transfer file to a external hard drive via a laptop but still it never get fully clean it's as if it duplicates files for what idk?
I agree with this comment. This process created more files with the same pictures and added a lot of them just "here and there" now I lost more space and I keep receiving offers to pay a monthly fee to get more space for pictures. Several people have tried to help me recover my photos after I followed this video. All of them tell me they don't know what the heck I have done to my phone. What did I do? I watched this video and spent approximately 40 hours total working on recovering space....that's what I did and that quadrupled pictures into different spots, deleted tons, I lost videos, ect.
I deleted 600 something raw files from my SD card because it was starting to get full, just a massive amount of data. It locked up at about 100% in the moving to trash phase. After I use device cleanup and it closed the app there were six hundred something raw files in my trash and I emptied it. Literally maybe 30 minutes later I tried to open my gallery in it said "free up some space some features may not be available" and when I looked both my phone and my SD were at 99% full. Even though my SD card should have had at least 40 gigs free after I deleted that folder. Why isn't there a built in defrag program on these fucking computers we call phones?

I just did it on my A32 5g. I used smart switch and transfered my info onto my tab s8, factory reset it and then transfered back all the apps from tablet to A32 and in the process it allows you to pick and choose only what you want to transfer back. It was fairly painless and took about an hour but it cleared all that other storage. It's the only sure fire way.
I'm a content creator, so I go through ALOT footage on my phone (galaxy s10e). Either way, I couldn't figure out why my "other storage" was so freaking high! I unfortunately factory reset my phone, which kinda helped, but the issue came back. Long story short, if you are rotating a bunch of clips from horizontal to vertical, then "video editor" app is saving a bunch of background data in "other storage" just in case you want to revert a media clip to how it used to be. Go to storage settings and clear the data for that app (not just the cache). Hopefully that helps somebody out there struggling.
@@oliviaboatwright3826 not on the video editor app. But if you're scared of doing that. Then the second option is to get "media guardian app" it let's you see duplicate files on your phone that samsung doesn't consider to be duplicates
Here's another one you should do. Try to go to apps on the setting and set it to see the system application and look for "package installer" once you find it go to the app and select the app storage and clear all data. This should clear up some space and won't change a thing at all
@@Winterbear013 yes it will if it's downloaded it will never delete stuff thats already been downloaded from "package installer" or "files" just removes the storage thats been installed on the package installer nothing changes but free space
There is no solution. I have gone to multiple service centers even had a chance to discuss this with Samsung engineers. Only solution is to format. Thats it. Kindly pin this comment for everyone out there having this issue

Hi in my storage on my Samsung galaxy A21s it has on other 15.43 gb taking my storage I can't download apps and I have to close every app when I go onto zoom to get a 1Gb to use it. I have some apps on the sd card too. It doesn't matter how much I clear cache it won't give me the storage back please let me know I only have 98% left out
Yes. I think this is a "game" from developer android or whatever product company to irritated us and forced to buy a new phone periodically. I mean how can they easily labeled file as "other" while it consume 60% of the storage....
I figured out that the huge amount of system storage is Samsung's way of getting us to keep upgrading to their newest, costliest phones. There is no other explanation. My Samsung Galaxy 10 had 32 GB of storage, and 18GB was system storage. Storage quickly filled up. I upgraded to my A32 5G with 64 Gb of storage. I have 16 GBof a]s I have installed, and less than 3 Gb in media and documents... 19 GB... and yet I keep getting a warning to apps because there is 60 GB of the phone's 64 GB that are used and I am running out of storage memory! WTH? The only explanation is that the sustenance bloatware intrntionally increases to use up all the storage space so we have to keep buying new phones with more storage.
@@pmarengo21 I had similar suspicion. I have galaxy A23 with 128 gb storage but it has 40gb of system files. Some years ago, windows 7 on my laptop didnt have so much system storage but there is a lot more i could do on computer than my phone. This phone has 6 gb Ram but i cant even minimize folders and work on 2 things at once like i can do on computer. This kind of problem arises when companies become too big. When companies are small or just starting out, they try to impress people and gain customers through innovation and useful services. As they start getting big, they take their customers and success for granted and think they can continue to make profits by selling low quality products through deceit and manipulation. Samsung and google have played themselves out. I am thinking of buying huwai phones now.
I have 1/2 the apps and I backed up most of my pictures and videos and how 128gb is filled 128gb, 107gb "other". It's crazy. I see a push for cloud storage, problem is, on my account, I'm not allowed to remove my information that I pay for. Google are criminals

Well, i bought a brand new phone and I checked "other" file is just below 1gb. That's good, let's see a month later. If it's increases that MUCH, then android OS were truly F##### up. Ps: My older phone has 18gb on "other" files while maximum storage is 32gb. Pretty much deleted everything (games, whatsapp ect) but 18gb "other" is still there. How can they easily labelled files as other while it consumed 60% of max storage? ? I think the phone company was playing s### so they forced us to purchase app to clean it, or even forced us to buy new phone periodically.

Guys basically "others" folder is the data you download in apps and the cache stored in apps. The other day I deleted like 10 gb worth of cache and the others storage went down like 8gb. So clear your cache😊
I don't even have this Other folder on Galaxy a235G (US version). My Files app shows Internal memory 53gb taken out of 64. When I click at internal memory, then select all (almost 7000 files) the Details of selection shows only 5.6GB occupied not 53! Where the hell the 47.4 GB got hidden? I can see the folders in Internal memory but there is no "Other" folder.
@@SergSpace yeah sometimes old phones don't have these "other" files and don't show cache in internal storage. My father had the same problem. After I manually cleared every cache from settings , his phone was smooth as hell. Try clearing out cache.

Oh, Im here again. Same issue. Didnt know I had watched this video. I suppose there are no incentives for phone and app manufacturers/developers to make things that last, so they just use all the space and give you only an option to buy a new phone. I have used to much time trying to free up space on this phone, and I have moved all the apps that the phone allow to the SD card. I have delted all the apps that I dont use, and some that I do use.

This video was a waste of my time. You never shown how to get this Other storage to clean up. You just keep sweeping screen back and forth. On My Galaxy a23 5G Phone I found that A+ Gallery app (Image/Video viewer) was taking almost 20GB Internal storage space. I cleaned Up Cash in that up. It didn't help much and Clear Data sounds like it's going to delete all my Images. So I just Uninstalled A+Gallery. It cleaned up 20Gb on Internal Storage. Then I re-installed it. None of pictures disappeared and I freed my internal memory to 52%. It's 33GB occupied out of 64GB now. It looks like Media app can cash data on it's own. I also cleaned Up WhatsApp Sent folder using My Files app. But it wasn't major weight, though.

Here's another one you should do. Try to go to apps on the setting and set it to see the system application and look for "package installer" once you find it go to the app and select the app storage and clear all data. This should clear up some space and won't change a thing at all

This kind of problem arises when companies become too big.
When companies are small or just starting out, they try to impress people and gain customers through innovation and useful services.
