How The TT Won - Featuring Robert and Joey Dunlop
Вставка
- Опубліковано 16 тра 2024
- This video tells a story of passion and pain. The story of how the Isle of Man took on the FIM, and with the help of the riders who had dedicated their lives to road racing, turned a potentially disastrous situation that could have finished the TT forever, into a springboard to ensure the future success of the event.
It also looks at the early racing life of 2 brothers. 2 characters who changed the world of racing forever, but in very different ways.
They left a lasting legacy that will I think, live on forever.
Never did a family love racing like the Dunlop's, and never was there a more challenging race than the Isle Of Man TT.

I have no Racing background in cars or bikes but if there was 1 bad arse'd Bike Race this one would be the one I mention
only for the limited video I have seen. In it's own ways, stuff like the Baja Races I might also mention but they are there
own type. I think you said something about Dakar Race & I'm only guessing that's like the Baja race, being in Desert or
hot/dry terrain. But for bad arse'd street type race..... Isle of Mann is the one that stands out over/beyond anything but
I know very little except these MEN put it all on the line, everything as in, "Life -n- Death". This is the longest video and
most minutes I've ever watched any motorcycle event. Looks to be a made for tv type broadcast. Possibly someone
videoed it off the cable network & had it all these years? Whoever allowed you to show this, thank them from a guy
who didn't know anything about it. peace & take care
@@user-dv7hb2sc9m cheers my friend, he is a gent, you can thank him yourself if you like www.youtube.com/@vhsarchives357 and thanks for watching, it means a lot
Yeah BBBu , from the start I discerned something within you I liked & that wouldn't change even if I never bought a
bike. I came from a place -n- time where words had meaning & people shared something deeper than they're able
to do today? Don't ask me to explain any of it but you have an honest sincere demeanor about you & I really don't
mind telling people when I sense it. And I will go over & thank the man even though I know nothing about it except
the stuff I already mentioned. We all have people who don't like us out in this world so be blessed when someone
steps up on the good side of things. I may be late to look at your stuff but I will be coming. Chat soon, peace

So many names from my mouth, brings a tear to my eye.I'll raise a glass to the memories of all these great men.May they never be forgotten and always respected.
always remembered, heroes one and all
The best description of the TT I've heard is 'Think of it as a horizontal Everest, hundreds have died but still they come ',and long may they continue to. ❤
I like that one 🙂
Thank you for bringing back so many memories! It's real treat that this wonderful footage is still available for us to enjoy. 👍

At 16:00 the unforgotten Klaus Klein. RIP
well spotted, a sad loss. I have been working on a fallen heroes video for the main channel, but it is a hard one. trying to balance the joys with the heartache isnt easy. have a great weekend my friend
Great video which brought back so many memories. What a sad year that was. I was there that year , not for the first time, and for many more after. I stopped going after the tragic passing of Joey but have been back a few times in recent years for the classic bikes at the Manx GP. 45 years after my first TT and I'm still addicted to it. Long may it continue. Thanks for the memories
glad you enjoyed it mate 🙂 Theres plenty more on the main channel too, hope you will look around and find something your interested in. there is more on the website too. and there will be more to come. Cheers for watching.Hope you will climb aboard. Ride Free 🙂

The TT is the ultimate form of motorsport.
in some ways there is no argument on that, having said that, watching real road racers elbow to elbow around a tight track like Tandragee could be called the same. it demands ultimate respect by the racers. road racing is just better than anything else, full stop 🙂
An outstanding tribute to the TT; top lad, have a sub 👍

Michael has the chance to equal his uncles total of 26 wins this year.
He went well at the NW200, just gone.
Visited the TT 3 times. Very unique experience.
Sat in a hedge all day, a few foot away from the racing.

This is on my bucket list , I've been to a famous city for a James Bond movie and a Steve mc queen film.
But this race and Le Man's are my bucket list leaders
The TT has cost the family Dunlop, a lot , Robert and his son William.
But also Joey being killed in Russia.
not quite Russia, but a sad loss one and all, and do it mate, i cant remember hearing anyone say they regretted going
BareBonesMC dropping the History again. As always thank You for Sharing. 🇺🇸💚🐐🪖 #goatarmy

True story, my close friend and business partner is Joey's first cousin, he recounted the time Joey took him to the local pub for his very first Guinness when he turned sixteen.
and let me guess, His life was never the same again :-) his soft humble words changed the life of so many people including me, that he will never be forgotten. A true giant of a man.
Great find and upload though I miss your voice. Keep them coming.

Cheers mate, and all the best
What 2 stroke engines did they have in the old side cars
Konig and Yamaha TZ were the best, but Mick Barton used Honda for a while that i know, and i am sure there were others who had different preferences,
Joey aka the GOAT
The once and future king
I'm a little confused. I'm certain some of the video showed Joey Dunlop on what appears to be a Honda VFR 750 R RC 30 however these were not raced at the TT until 1988. I saw a couple of short clips of the much modified 6 X competition version of the VFR 750 F which was raced in 1986.
the clips at the beginning i wide format were from Dundrod and may have been later, as to the rest, this was how it was released, i did no video editing at all, i just added the intro, so if that is where the RC30 you saw was that explains it
The RC 30 followed on after what Honda learned from Joey's works F1 bikes , that's why they look similar.
@@jeffrobinson8430 Thanks for the clarification. I read that the RC30 was an improved machine based on the factory RVF endurance racers. I have a personal interest because I own a RC30.
these comments are all very interesting, Cheers for adding them. as i have often said, if we could amass the combined knowledge of all the subscribers we would have the most comprehensive motorcycle encyclopedia ever 🙂
Truly death defying.
indeed, cheers for watching mate, enjoy the ride
Knew Joey and all. Used to be spanners for RH.
and RH would be? Ron? if so we might have met mate, where are you from?
RoRo's back then were maydays waiting to happen
??? am i being dumb? lol wouldnt be the first time 🙂
I love how the Dunlops were cleaning those parts in diesel fuel. Don’t they know that’s dangerous?
PMSL, you know joey would have had a cig on as well :-) No fear
Why is it dangerous.... i do it every day cleaning parts ..will diesel jump into my mouth and kill me?
@@loicansquer6329 lol, i still remember the first time someone dropped a lit match in a tub of diesel in front of me, and the terror as he calmly explained diesel doesnt combust on ignition, it combusts on compression 🙂 the thought still send shivers down my neck though 🙂
@@loicansquer6329 Just kidding around , I’ve got the Ulster Scot Blood in me so we’re always pulling peoples legs lol
how the tt won ??
How the TT stopped the FIM from making them irrelevent then, OK?
