You’re welcome! Since creating this video, we have also discovered soooo many free options on UA-cam - just search free TV artwork. So many options! Merry Christmas! :)
The only recommendation I have is to scrape a couple of small notches in the back of the corners and apply staples on the back instead of a nail through. The glue alone should suffice, staples would take strain off, a nail won't, if it was loose the nail would eventually let the bottom sag. Curious if counter sunk magnets would work to hold it in place instead of double sided tape.
Thank you for sharing! The glue/brad nails seem to have worked perfectly as two years later everything still looks good as new. I’m sure there are many ways to do it though. :)
First and foremost, I would like to thank you for the full instructions on “how to make your TV frame”. I’ve been searching UA-cam for quite some time and I finally came across your video, it was so easy to follow. I do have one question my TV has a sensor in the middle of the bottom portion of the Samsung TV, what did you do to access it with the control? Thank you. sincerely newbie.
Thank you for your kind words. I’m so happy to know you found our video helpful. Believe it or not, the sensor works fine through the frame. I would definitely recommend that you test it before you go too far with your project. But we have never had an issue with ours. Have fun!
Thanks for showing this. My first thought was also to make my own frame as the Samsung selection is really poor. I mean, why don't they have any ones that are a bit more ornamental like a real picture frame as you have made here?
This is:so helpful and informative! Could you share where you found the decorative box to hide your center channel? Finding a good solution for hiding that would solve a big problem for us. Maybe make it your next video?
I’m so happy it was helpful. I searched high and low for the perfect box to hide our speaker. I did finally find it at Home Goods. I like your suggestion about making a video about hiding all the things. Maybe we will do that. Merry Christmas!
Renee… beautiful ! So much nicer than the BLACK picture on our walls …LOL!!! Technology can be a good thing 👍 Now I’m caught up to your current videos…. Withdrawal time….☹️
This is a wonderful project👏 It looks simply stunning 👍👍 May I ask did you drill a hole for the remote sensor? Thank you for sharing 👍👍 Stay safe healthy and happy 😃✝️🇺🇸
Thanks so much! Glad you feel inspired! No we did not drill a hole for the sensor… It is not needed. Works perfectly fine through the frame! Have fun with your project! 😍😍😍
You didn't have any issues with remote after adding frame? Does your frame cover the "receiver" on bottom right? Some reviews of the Deco frame even say the remote didn't work as well Thank you
Thanks! I used Vintage Gold by Fusion Mineral Paint and a custom glaze using Fusion’s clear glaze and the color Ash (2 parts glaze + 1 part ash). Fusion is available on our website. 🙂
You said the Velcro is attached to the side of the TV instead of the front? It looked like the Velcro was on the inside face of the frame, facing towards the TV. If it’s on the outside edge of the TV and inside edge of the 1x1, how do you get the frame seated? Doesn’t the Velcro get caught as it starts to go onto the TV? Thx, turned out great!
Ok I went back and looked. The Velcro is on the inside edge of the mounting frame and the side of the TV. I didn’t want Velcro on the front of the TV. Hope that makes sense. :)
This is helpful! I’ve been noticing the sticker shock of frames before ordering the tv and thought maybe could make one. Two things I have questions about… how does the frame you made affect or come into place with the sensor that I think is on the bottom of the tv to detect light and motion in the room? Does it clear it or interfere with it? Also if you look at the tv from the side does the new diy frame stick out from the wall or is the wood flush? Thanks so much for your advice I’m considering getting a 2021 frame tv
So glad you found this helpful! I was worried about the sensor, but the frame doesn’t interfere at all - the TV and remote work perfectly fine. And the side view with the frame is flush with the wall as any piece of framed art might appear. We absolutely love it and have zero regrets. Making your own frame is definitely worth it! Hope that helps. :)
Our’s is the 50” size. As long as you measure using the inside of that outer edge for your moulding pieces, it should work just fine. We really love how ours turned out and we are still using it today. Let us know how it goes!
Thanks! We used “Testers” brand spray enamel in metallic gold. The glaze is a 50/50 blend of clear glaze by Fusion Mineral Paint and their coal black paint. 😊
Thanks David. The speaker is in the white wood basket/tray on the mantle. The receiver is sitting on a vintage shelf right next to the fireplace. We ran the cords using white conduit to camouflage as best we could. We are fortunate to have an outlet right there - It works well! Let us know if you need anything else. 😊
We just purchased a 65 inch flat screen Samsung TV, are old one was on a stand and this one we mounted on the wall. As a big Art lover and not really a TV lover ( hubby is) I’ve always thought it would be great for art. My question is this is not considered a “ frame Tv” it is pretty flat, can one still put a frame around it? I saw them on line with a big sticker price for the frame tv, and thought of purchasing a frame but realized it wouldn’t work as our new TV is not technically a frame TV, although I’ve been downloading beautiful art from You tube and it works beautifully but I’d love to have a frame around it. Can one build a frame for a regular Flat screen?
There is some fabulous art work on YT for smart TVs - love it! Yes we believe you can use this tutorial for any flat screen. You would just need to use thicker moulding pieces for the back of the frame to fit the depth of your particular model. You can also check out the Jami Ray Vintage channel - they did a video on building a frame for a regular flat screen. Have fun!
I don’t know why I’m having such a hard time with this…so if i measure the inside part of the tv and its say 45” wide and 32” tall does that mean I cute the moulding the same lengths ? Wouldn’t the 45° cut mean you need a little more than the tv measurements
Yes. Those dimensions are the inside of the corners of the 45 degree cuts. The overall outside dimensions will be slightly larger. Sketch it on paper and it will make sense. :)
When making your own frame aka DIYing it, do you simple measure the inside of TV's (border closest to the actual screen), and you just cut the wood with those measurements? It doesn't make the frame smaller?
That is correct - that way the frame sits just on the inside edge. Otherwise it sits on the outside of the TV and doesn’t look right. Let us know if you have other questions. :)
@@harvesthillcottage Just the video I needed! What was the width of the trim you used, please? Was it one piece of trim or did you add another piece for decoration and dimension? Thank you.
@@harvesthillcottage So the sensor does automatically work with your frame on, or you have to start and stop the TV by yourself when you want to put the art mode on ? nice job
Thank you for showing what art it's included with the TV.

I am still in awe with how beautiful that frame turned out!
Aw thanks!
Absolutely Beautiful

That's actually brilliant! Thank you for sharing!
Thanks - happy it inspired you!
Thankyou for this, very well done, well explained, and the end result is stunning and inspirational

You can find fancy TV frames online, but they are so expensive. It wasn’t hard to make and I love mine! God bless!
Amazing👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻...why don't u sell it??🙏🏻
Aw thank you! If only we had the time to make more. 😊
Gorgeous 👌👌👌
Really enjoyed your video.
Thank you Lara! 🥰
I love a framed TV! Been meaning to do my own since I saw Jami and Zeb do theirs. I just haven’t gotten around to it. Great job and cool tv. 😍
Thanks! I love it too! 😍😍😍
Thank you guys. Good work.

Thanks! We removed the original Samsung frame first. :)

@@harvesthillcottage That’s great, a lot of other video say to drill a hole so the sensor works. This is perfect then 👍👍 Thank you for the fast reply.

You can adjust this frame for any TV - simply use larger mounting pieces. Thanks for watching!
Awesome! When you measure the inside did you add the width of the trim as try length for the 45 deg cuts?
Thank you! No we simply measured the inside and used that measurement for our cuts.
@@harvesthillcottage thank you for your reply. I appreciate that!!

where do you have the receiver to your Bose speaker hidden? I have the same one, and like how you have it covered.

When I built the frame and placed it on the TV in art mode, the picture immediately dims. Any suggestions?
Hmm we never had that issue - recommend consulting the owners manual to trouble shoot. Hope you get it figured out!
You probably didn’t notch out the ambient light sensor on the bottom right.
When making your own frame aka DIYing it, do you simple measure the inside of TV's (border closest to the actual screen), and you just cut the wood with those measurements? It doesn't make the frame smaller?

What about the tv sensores?
The sensors works perfectly fine through the wood frame. We’ve never had a problem with that. Thanks for watching 😊
Does it not interfere with the signal from the remote?
Not at all :)
Great video. Where did you buy the frame?
Thanks! We made the frame from a moulding piece we purchased at Lowes. 😊
@@harvesthillcottage Just the video I needed! What was the width of the trim you used, please? Was it one piece of trim or did you add another piece for decoration and dimension? Thank you.
Hi there, so happy you found this video helpful! We used one piece of molding that we purchased from the hardware store. It is 2 1/2 inches wide.
How did you not obstruct the sensor?
Hi Amanda, the sensor works through the frame :)
What size is your TV? If it's the same size as mine then I can use the same measurements
We got the 50” 😊
About to bite the same bullet and get a LG OLED
You won’t regret it 😊
does this fit over the sensor button? mine sticks down about 1/8" on bottom of tv
It does cover the sensor but it doesn’t seem to interfere at all with the functionality of the TV. :)

I was afraid of that too, but it doesn’t interfere at all. Works perfectly! Thanks for watching. 😊
Too confusing thanx anyway
