One thing I loved in GT3 that never returned was the way the drivetrain and aspiration style events came back in each series. Some people didnt like it and called it padding, but i loved the way you had to find and think about faster and faster cars for FF/FR/MR/4WD to do each of the event styles. It meant by the end game i was still searching for (or tuning up) cars of each type to try to take on the highest level of the challenge. I was disappointed in 4 when I realized that once you finish the beginners cup you never really need to consider a car's drivetrain type again.

Oh gosh GT3 was soooo far ahead graphically compared to EVERYTHING back then, thx to the perfect use of the PS2's complex but very pixel fillrate heavy/high bandwith and FAST architecture. That's how the heat haze effect was made possible! Gameplay wise, this game is BLISS, especially with the FF wheel from Logitech. I was 13 and thought I was driving a real car haha! Also, GT3 still to this day has the best versions of Trial Mountain, Deep Forest, Grand Valley, SSR11 and SSR5!

I disagree gt3 is the best gran Turismo. In my opinion GT4 is the best gran turismo

This Gran Turismo has the best version of Grand valley speedway, I miss that track but GT7 ruined that track as it’s not as fun

"This makes Gran Turismo 3 the only full GT game to date where you couldn't shop around to pick up a cheap, used car at a bargain price." Yeah, I know you wrote this in GTPedia before 6 came out, but you must've given it some thought as you recorded it in 2024?

The presentation of this game is really special, and as a kid it really got me. The way cars were sold with specific photos felt like a car magazine, and the way the tracks had their unique icons and videos in the menu felt like you were diving into a racing vacation.

To this day when i see the in game HUD in this game it gives me a blast of nostalgia like you will not believe. I miss the days when the in game HUD changed dramatically from one GT game to the next.

It took me almost 25 years to finally play GT3. Coming from GT2, it's massive improvement in GT3. If there's one thing I'd complain for GT3, it's the rather small car dealer compared to GT2.

If PD gave us all the tracks from GT4 without modifying their layout in GT7 but upgrade their textures and graphics to GT7 standards with a proper career mode then GT7 would be my new favourite.
With the way GT7 is now with the way the altered the original tracks and cafe mode replacing career GT7 is an ok game that I haven't touched with 10 months. Also I want the ability to restart my progress but pd thought it was a wise decision to have single player progress saved online. Yes I know I can start fresh by creating a new PSN account but that's a stupid way of doing it.
From time to time I like to go back to games and start fresh.

Gran Turismo 3: A-Spec is and was and still is the best
as for Gran Turismo 7 and Gran Turismo sport it is a mistake a joke a lot of bull, junk and more
i play Gran Turismo 7 so i know of a long list of issue that still makes it the worst
here is one update 1,31added what's to all GR car so on most track the acceleration is dead that GR4 cars can not beat GR4 cars
the same go's for GR1,2,3 AND one 4WD 1lap dirt track were the AI is stupidly strong

Seeing the demo in a game store and the sparks flying at Seattle over the curbs was bonkers. Forever etched in my brain. Really crisp graphics. I appreciate the DTM and GT300 footage. :)
