While a lease payment isn’t cheap….at least a couple hundred grand per month, Mr Damon should be able to foot the bill easily as several of his peers have Globals/Gulfstreams etc. Don’t know what I’m talking about? I have nearly 40 years experience in this field including 15 years working for Bombardier! In all that time I probably had less than 5 customers who actually owned or paid cash for their aircraft. Most of them lease and flip aircraft every 3 to 5 years. I agree a fully optioned out model can easily reach into the high 70 millions, but a baseline model with conservative options such as no dual HUD’s, no synvis, no enhanced vision, no Ka band connectivity etc and you can keep the price down. The current Global series has very reasonable operating costs for an aircraft of this capability. Direct operating costs (DOC’s) are about $4200/hr, total operating costs are around $6700/hr. Based on the standard 300 hours/year average of this category aircraft.
