To further describe why this happens: physics objects in games like this have "awake" and "asleep" states to conserve processing power. Getting out of the vehicle causes the pole to go "asleep" and once back in, because your car is inside the hitbox of it, you can drive further into it. Once you perform the ground pound, both the car and pole are disturbed and because both of their hitboxes are overlapping, it causes both of them to try and push each other away which makes them fly away.
