Draycote Water Opening Day 2023.

The 2023 fishing season started on Wednesday 1st March 2023 with lots of anglers taking to both the bank and the boats looking to land their first Draycote fish of the new season.
In this video fishery manager Tom Bird interviews both bank and boat anglers to gets hints and tip in order to help anglers visiting in the coming weeks.

What tackle set up used on this water, rod length, line weight, leader, tippet length, fly patterns.

Hi Paul
The majority of the anglers use 9ft 6in & 10ft rods. In a range of weights from #6 #7 & #8 with #7 being the most common. In terms of leader, tippet length and fly patterns it very much depends on the conditions and time of year. Early season like the video leader strength wants to be nice and strong 8lb Plus with most people opting for lures and fluorocarbon.
