The landing nets are provided by Grafham for example, with the boat hire along with the drogues. The aim is to try and prevent invasive shrimp and other species being brought to the water by individual anglers' own nets and drogues.
The rule is at Rutland Water that boats are allowed close to the shore, aslong as they are 50m from the nearest bank angler - unless there are restrictions such as nature reserves etc that are mostly restricted within a buoyed off area.
That CDC shuttle cock style fly shown at the end almost looks like it has a tightly wrapped foam body? Also, unless the photo is deceiving, that is a white foamed FAB? Cheers,
Brilliant 🏴 well done guys
Some fishing from the Menteith ospreys 👏 👏 👏 second win in 3 year's from the Scottish lads.
Superb angling Peter
Great comp....great venue...
Well done the Ospreys- Brilliant achievement.
As an ex bank angler here, really pleased you covered so many parts of the lake. Wonder how old hall bay fished?
What is the green net that everyone seams to use?
Greys

On a normal day boats are not allowed to come close to the bank. Was this rule changes for the competition?

Enjoyed that Rutland certainly was on the best of form.

Some dreadful casting xD
Was just going to write the same comment ! Well spotted 👍. My book says that amongst so called ‘professionals’, they are fishmongers not fishermen.
