      Very unprecise and a bit sloppy.
      If they don't want people near them, they should have barricades and ropes like they do with the tomb of the unknown soldier in Washington DC. That is military. That is precise soldiery. And SHE on the horse is not in any way tough looking. Pathetic political correctness.

    As a former soldier who has done public duties, tourists have no idea, and think we’re just pretending, we’re actual serving soldiers, show respect!

    I saw this earlier,
    SHE was leaning up against him, without even asking him if she could have her photo taken with him. He pulled away and roared at her. These tourists are getting out of hand now and it should be stopped. The rare serving soldiers not waxwork dummies.

      She wasn't deliberately laughing in his face at all. She was naturally highly embarrassed at the situation she suddenly found herself in. And that is the crux of the matter in an artificially contrived situation such as this. Mixing the tourist on vacation with army personnel on duty is like trying to mix oil with water. The two ingredients will not mix.

    I always wondered why getting a photo of the Royal Guards and their Mounts isn’t enough… tourists have to go right up to them and get a photo next to them. These are soldiers serving their country. They should be treated as such. I’m from the states and couldn’t fathom behaving like this toward an American soldier. I absolutely commend them on their amazing ability to handle themselves.

      Im American too. And I think people like you and I are a rare breed. Especially now with social media and everyone who’s grown up with a phone on their hand being a narcissist. I’d be so uncomfortable standing in this vicinity seeing what I’m seeing in this video. I guess because he looks like a toy soldier, people think he’s just a tourist attraction? They have a sign that warns people of the horses, maybe they should posts signs to leave the friggin guards alone too. Sheesh.

      I visited the Tomb of the Unknown in DC one time, and watching how some of these people behave here with the soldiers, I just imagine what would happen if a visitor to the T of the U tried to pull some of the same stunts. Disrespectful does not cover it..The Guards here, should not be subjected to such close contact with the public..Not everyone is a " nice" person these days.

    Why do they think they have the right to touch him? If he touched them, they would be calling for the nearest police officer. Be polite and respect others' personal space. Remember the golden rule. Do unto others as you would have them do unto you. Applies in this situation also.

    When these guards are out, there should be no one traipsing around them. If they are guarding, doors should be shut, side walks closed, etc. It's terrible what disrespect the UK endures by these tourists. It's cultural death by a thousand cuts.

      What on earth are you talking about? "Doors should be shut"? "Sidewalks closed"? Have you ever been to Horseguards? It is a public thoroughfare .... people pass by going about their daily business. Also, the Guards on duty there are a tourist attraction, they're not guarding anything!

    First of all, why is the middle gate open? Secondly, the foot guard should be able to stand nearer to the middle gate for safety. Being surrounded by unknown tourists should be a concern. If his duty station is in the middle of the sidewalk, then an armed police officer should be in the area for crowd control. Imagine how it will be for the king's coronation, not to mention in the summer months. Something needs to be done for all of the guard's safety.

    This poor soldier as people from all sides closing in around him where were the police to hold back the crowds, people are so inconsiderate getting into his space it's shocking ! This should not be allowed for public to get so close. They don't care as long as get their photos.

      @NattieChristopher My late father was a Grenadier guard and was a smart man all his life. He could not abide men with their hands in their pockets etc.
      I am not stupid and realise the guards wear casual clothes when not on duty.
      It is just the general malaise of crowds in general. Everyone is totally free to wear whatever they choose.
      Please do not preach to me about military matters, as many of my family have been officers either in the army or held high ranks on the police force.
      On a lighter note, I had to 'learn' how to iron, beginning with my father's white gloves! He had continued his career on the police force for thirty years.
      He spent five years in North Africa during the War, still staying very smart!

    A few years ago I was in Edinburgh and visited the castle. I noticed that one of the Kilted Guards on sentry duty shouted at a tourist to "stand back", so they seem to have a similar problem to us in London.

    Surprised to see a small portion of the video featured in one of the British Tabloids yesterday, also the the NYPost, the headline said the girl was terrified by the Guards shout!! Pity they didn't show the complete video where her 'Terror' made her run off laughing...

      The Beefeaters in the 'Tower of London' don't just shout. They are fully fledged constables, with full powers of arrest and can put you in a cell for causing a public nuisance. Literally locking you in the Tower. 😉😉

    Why are the armed police officers not clearing the unruly, rude and crude people away from the horses and guards? These horses and guards ARE ON DUTY; THEY ARE SERVING THEIR COUNTRY, THEY ARE NOT PHOTO PROPS. THEY ARE NOT THERE TO BE MOCKED. SHOW RESPECT AND KEEP YOUR DISTANCE.

    Many do not know boundaries, thus disrespect the Kings guard. He is not there to have you lean or put your hands on his person, learn proper respect, he is on duty, and he is a force to be around, they are professional guards/soldiers, if you visit UK learn proper social skills around them.

    So many people have no respect for the King or his guards who are just doing their job. They are not things on display like statues or monuments. I am an American and would ask permission to take a picture or pet the horse before doing either as they are working in a military position.

      It’s sad that all tourists didn’t think like this and have total Respect for these guards/soldiers,who are time served and still serving every other 6months of each year. They often come home in ⚰️⚰️⚰️from the war zones. So YES. All tourists should have respect or stay at home.🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿

The Royal guards haven’t just worked for their position as you put it. They not only had to pass all their training, to get in the army. They have to go through gruelling training, in all elements,using live ammo,and all the rest of it,then be absolutely strong enough mentally too. Only a very small percentage make it through to the Royal Guards. They deserve utter and total Respect. For they are not just time served soldiers, but also have to go to the frontline for every other 6months of every year,where many come home in ⚰️⚰️⚰️This is their reality.!!! So all you visitors out there, do your research instead of coming here and treating them like they are there just for your purpose. Either have Respect for them or don’t come here and inflict them with your childish,disrespectful behaviour. 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿

      @Davide Luce With very many Scots, Irish and Welsh amongst them! I think it was the dress uniform which was being referred to, not the soldier-and I would not describe any of them as "average."

    The middle gate shouldn’t be open unless the bollards are up, which they are not. Definitely a security risk, you would think they would be ramping up security right now instead of getting lax. The tourists around the guard were pretty respectful until the group of teenagers showed up. Naturally they looked offended when he shouted at them for doing something wrong. That last girl who came up was probably the most disrespectful with whatever she was trying to do. I don’t blame him for leaving, whether the bell rang or not. Tourists should not be allowed to get so close to the guards or horses. These troopers did not complete difficult training in order to be mocked while on ceremonial duty.

      The middle gate isn’t always open if they’re expecting protests or they have a lot of police security due to higher alerts. A lot of recent videos posted of these guards (still wearing the winter coats) by this UA-camr and others show the center gates closed except when changing the horses on the hour.

      I guess the mounted guards would be watching and could move their horses forward the same way police horses would if there were a problem. They can also use those swords for defense if they absolutely had to.

    Some of these terrorists have an entitlement issue, where they feel like it's their right to take a picture with these guards and, where they're touching all on them, touching their horses and leaning on them to take a picture for their own amusement...like seriously 😒 glad he yelled at her that's right, back up off of me!!!!

    There is nothing to indicate the young lady was bringing this guard a red rose. She never attempted to hand it to him at any point. She was only holding the flower.

    When is this circus going to be stopped? These men are working soldiers not a Disney act or an Alton Towers attraction! The horses are not in a petting zoo, they are working too. The guard in this clip is a young man at his place of work. People crowding him and sticking their phones in his face is so disrespectful. I hate anyone in my personal space. These people are beyond stupid if they think that such behaviour is acceptable. Well done young man for your service and for being so patient.

    When I went to Athens they have guards outside of the palace. I took some photo's but didn't dream of getting close to them, I was at least fifteen feet away. You don't need to get close with todays camera phones or cameras, they have zoom on them. People should show some respect! I think this is dangerous for the guards in todays climate, and the armed police are usually stood around chatting!

    Omg’sh, I can’t imagine what these poor guards go through on a daily basis having to deal with all of these people. I wonder why they don’t have the red rope’s like they do at museums and for movie stars, you know to keep the public outside the lines. I think the Royal Guard would appreciate the distance, although, it looks to me like that horse wasn’t minding all the love he was getting!     The public shouldn’t be able to touch the horses. Its clear when the horse brushes off the stranger’s touch; albeit a soft touch from her, its not a horse at the local farm. Also, growing up, I never once heard these guards speak. Says volumes about our culture now. Kudos to this soldier for standing his ground.

      It's a tourist attraction and has been for many years. The guards know it and so does the government. Police can't push people away for wanting to take a photograph.
