I love to hear Patti say "soil", "oil" and "boil"---what a lovely voice and sweet southern accent! This chat was fun and informative! I could almost smell the smoke from the bonfire! ❤️
I am attempting a bit of veggie gardening for the first time this year. Because of our living situation I have to do container gardening. I fully expect this to be a comedy of errors/"learning experience" as I am without doubt a big city girl. I have decided in anything like this. Sense of humor is required.
I finally watched the whole show without falling asleep! LOL (No, you weren't that boring, I was that tired!) I always had a hard time with peppers, but tomatoes were really easy. Where I had a garden in Canada I had really good soil, but further back on the property it was all clay. (wish I knew about that sheet rock trick back then!) I soooo want a garden again! But just not sure I want to put the work into it since we are looking to move. :(
My hubby tried to grow tomatoes in a Topsy Turvy but the tomatoes were small and he does great with tomatoes in the ground or big barrel. We have perfect weather unless we have extreme dry or rainy weather. Love your shows and have fun!
You know why your daughter was nervous right? How long do we spend educating our kids on... never meet a stranger from online? LOL That means the message sunk in.
Loved your live show. Next test brands of marshmallows ie which turn into ash, which fall off the stick into the fire etc LOL. Sorry about the question on growing garlic. I know when and how to plant garlic but mine never develop. Any resources to try to figure out what the problem is?
Please help me, I am almost out of my mind. I know you are away at the gathering right now but when you get a few minutes I do need some help with my mouse infestation. We have tried to find out where they are getting in and blocked up all obvious cracks and holes. They are in every room in my home. I am trapping at the moment but it is a very slow process and given how fast they breed I feel I am fighting a losing battle. I hesitate to resort to poisons as I do have a dog who has the run of the house. Also I am concerned about the food chain and if a mouse gets the poison and then goes outside and dies it could be picked up by a hawk or owl etc., I am at my wits end so please, please if you have any ideas I sure could use help. I am so close to resorting to a poison right now. It seems it is a very bad year for them and I am not alone with this problem in my neighborhood. So , if anyone has any ideas I would sure appreciate it, Thanks.
Well, with dogs you do need to be careful of poison but honestly I think that's the only way you are going to get rid of them them unless you are absolutely vigilant about putting traps out night and day for weeks or months. Not sure what to do about your dog as it could be really bad for him if he gets a mouse that ate it. Maybe see if there is some pet safe poison out there. I'm not sure.

I live in a apartment and container gardening.. They do great on my patio. It has a solid roof above it but gets sun from a angle.
I was hoping you would talk about gardening soon. Can you show us your square foot gardening?

How do you keep moles from eating your salad and all other veggies that grow in the ground?
If you compost in place, will I tie up the nitrogen?
No because it's only a bit in each spot.
Where are the marshmallows?
Hi😆
You are finish. I miss you today
In AZ, right in the middle of the desert compost works well here. I’m so surprised it doesn’t in Colorado, maybe the high altitude, not sure.
We just don't get enough rain where we are at.
I hope you watched out for alligators Tawra!
