I’ve seen people struggle with the silence of meditation a lot. I’m always saying… “if you hear those voices, that thought clutter, CONGRATULATIONS! You’re doing it!” So much of meditation and getting out of your head is first to acknowledge and recognize the voices. Only then can you begin to change them or dismiss those that aren’t serving you!

I used to ruminate a lot trying to figure everything out and trying to find an answer to everything and I can tell you it leads to nothing lol 😂 there are no answers only self discovery of how fucked up trauma can be. Learn to let go and be. No need to think. Just go do and live

As someone with ADHD, I can't thank you enough for this video. I never ever heard of this method with "channels" and it kinda redefines how I see the world and my thoughts. Thanks a lot

This reminds me of a monk who spoke about training our "monkey mind," simply by taking a moment to focus on our breath. And like you say, not necessarily "stopping" our thoughts or feelings, but recognizing each thought; we acknowledge it, and let it go by returning our attention to the breath. This is something I've attempted to use in living more mindfully, and I think the channels metaphor here might help me expand on that!

I’ve practiced this over the past few month’s. I used the word ‘Uptime’ to myself as a daily reminder.
Recently I’ve noticed I’ve dropped the Uptime word but still practice my uptime. I find myself smiling when I do uptime. It’s so freeing not to be stuck in my head.
Thanks for a great video 🙌

I’m in a very difficult place right now. I have a covert stammer so it’s not visible but do struggle with my speech as I’m ALWAYS in my mind 24 hours a day and it’s so mentally draining. I have tried everything - CBT, speech and language but I cannot get out of my mind. Start a new job soon on the phone and I’m so frightened. Your video is great, I’ve tried these all before
But it doesn’t stop my mine from being so aware on my speech

Whatever happens, know that your struggle makes you stronger. And that strength doesn't always show on other people. But you become strong, you overcome and live with hardship, and this in itself is an accomplishment. Keep fighting and only YOU know how strong you are.

Hello there Dr. Aziz, I've been struggling with non stop mind chatter for a while. I have tried the method described in the video last week and it worked like a charm so thank you for that. The only problem is that I used it everyday and days later the calmness/thoughtless state became very hard to achieve. I thought maybe if I applied it constantly, that would help change the brain structure (Default Mode Network) due to neuroplasticity but I think I might have abused it. What should I do? Thank you in advance doc.

Dr Aziz, is this the same kind of process that Eckhardt Tolle teaches? Also second question if possible, I was wondering as the author of 'Not Nice' , I was wondering what's your thoughts on Dr Robert Glover and his book 'No more Mr nice Guy'? Do you agree with what he tends to say, or would you say you differ on the process? Thanks a lot!
