I’ve seen people struggle with the silence of meditation a lot. I’m always saying… “if you hear those voices, that thought clutter, CONGRATULATIONS! You’re doing it!” So much of meditation and getting out of your head is first to acknowledge and recognize the voices. Only then can you begin to change them or dismiss those that aren’t serving you!
Thank you for sharing!
Thank you
I am a 14 you kid who is into competitive shooting and I have been having problems with getting into my own head and it really has Been effecting my shooting and today I had a archery shoot, and your advice worked and I was able to go on and win the competition today so thank you 🙏!
i was watching this video thinking “i wonder if meditation will help” and then i remembered when i was a kid up until now i could never meditate because i was always thinking to much, but this comment answered my question , thank you
@@jadestallone6043 Thanks for the gratitude.
I used to ruminate a lot trying to figure everything out and trying to find an answer to everything and I can tell you it leads to nothing lol 😂 there are no answers only self discovery of how fucked up trauma can be. Learn to let go and be. No need to think. Just go do and live
Words to live by!
As someone with ADHD, I can't thank you enough for this video. I never ever heard of this method with "channels" and it kinda redefines how I see the world and my thoughts. Thanks a lot
You're very welcome!
Praying helps me
This reminds me of a monk who spoke about training our "monkey mind," simply by taking a moment to focus on our breath. And like you say, not necessarily "stopping" our thoughts or feelings, but recognizing each thought; we acknowledge it, and let it go by returning our attention to the breath. This is something I've attempted to use in living more mindfully, and I think the channels metaphor here might help me expand on that!
Keep going, you got this!

Thank you so much. I began crying after channeling my thoughts of me and my gf and our plans for our future. I will try to channel myself to those positive thoughts of me and my girlfriend more and more.
I’ve practiced this over the past few month’s. I used the word ‘Uptime’ to myself as a daily reminder.
Recently I’ve noticed I’ve dropped the Uptime word but still practice my uptime. I find myself smiling when I do uptime. It’s so freeing not to be stuck in my head.
Thanks for a great video 🙌
That's awesome to hear!
Thank you for this!
Wooaahhh that channel technique is crazy! Felt like my brain got instantly rewired!

Thank you sooo much for such a great advice! ♥ I have been doing CBT for years (treating CPTSD), I have also tried practicing grounding techniques for a while but the way you worded it, this idea of "channels" was the most helpful way I ever found to calm my rumination
This has helped a lot. Like wow. Thank you for teaching us this technique
please never stop making these videos they help me a lot
Just try and stop me! :-)
I'm glad to see I am not the only one struggling with this!!! Meditation is difficult for more than just me. That's a relief.

You extremely helpful what you do is amazing!
I'm so glad!
This is actually awesome! It is simple to practice but very affective!
Moving forward, we will have to keep flipping through channels automatically to be morepresent?
Incredible
such a timely video!
Thanks!
I know this is just mindfulness, but the way you explained it really resonated with me. I like the metaphor of channel surfing. Thank you!
Glad it was helpful!
Been an overthinker my whole life. I'm going to try this and see if it works.
Dr. Aziz... I can't go to your events anymore. I was too eccentric, and too much suffering from ptsd. But your material I'll never forget
Hang in there Liam, and do whatever it takes to keep moving forward.
I enjoyed this
Thank you Sarah!
Sir you’re underrated subbed and like wishing you success and happiness ahead inshallah
Thank you so much
Amazing advise .. with a busy mind we are tired fast. Wondered why I was when I exercised eat well and am still tired. Can’t wait to try turning the volume down and up in other channels Thank you!
You got this!
Don’t every stop helping people ❤️
I won't!
Well, my life certainly has led me to this.
I’m embarrassed a lot of times mostly every time I’m embarrassed by my low level. I am at my learning level.
Thank you, focusing on sound works best for me. Keeping my eyes open is to distracting. Lol Have a great day!
You too!
Very useful sir
Thank you!
Great Aziz ,, why not live in the head …, what’s wrong in that .. why it’s mistake…🙏
I noticed how easi it is to get lost in those eyes, Aziz 🥰🥰👁️👁️
LOL thanks!
I swear this guy reads minds
I'm reading yours right now… oh my!
Get out of Your Head and Into Your Life by Dr Steven C Hayes is a great book!!
Thanks for the recommendation!
I’m in a very difficult place right now. I have a covert stammer so it’s not visible but do struggle with my speech as I’m ALWAYS in my mind 24 hours a day and it’s so mentally draining. I have tried everything - CBT, speech and language but I cannot get out of my mind. Start a new job soon on the phone and I’m so frightened. Your video is great, I’ve tried these all before
But it doesn’t stop my mine from being so aware on my speech
Whatever happens, know that your struggle makes you stronger. And that strength doesn't always show on other people. But you become strong, you overcome and live with hardship, and this in itself is an accomplishment. Keep fighting and only YOU know how strong you are.
@@Rpgreat thank you!! 1 year in and I’m actually in the best place I’ve ever been believe it or not🙏🏻
What if you had none of these 3 examples happened. What if you heard nothing, felt nothing, and didn't focus on anything. I am an overthinker when something happens but at any other time absolutely nothing is going on like someone hit the mute button on that remote you eluded to.
That's an interesting position to be in.
Hello there Dr. Aziz, I've been struggling with non stop mind chatter for a while. I have tried the method described in the video last week and it worked like a charm so thank you for that. The only problem is that I used it everyday and days later the calmness/thoughtless state became very hard to achieve. I thought maybe if I applied it constantly, that would help change the brain structure (Default Mode Network) due to neuroplasticity but I think I might have abused it. What should I do? Thank you in advance doc.

Hi, if you don't mind, it would really be helpful if you couldmake a video on how people with shyness and/or social anxiety should behave at parties, clubs, events etc. Especially if it's the first time and there is alcohol/drugs/smoking involved. 🙏🏽🙏🏽
I have many videos you're on my channel dedicated to that, and a quick search will pull them up for you.
I'm trying to get over a girlfriend that moved far away, that's one of the worst pains a person can over think
In the listen thing I heard music white clouds by decaf to be specific? What dose that mean)
Soo handsome ! 😍
I keep thinking something is going to happen to a friend and and he going to died on me and keep overthink it .
Dr Aziz, is this the same kind of process that Eckhardt Tolle teaches? Also second question if possible, I was wondering as the author of 'Not Nice' , I was wondering what's your thoughts on Dr Robert Glover and his book 'No more Mr nice Guy'? Do you agree with what he tends to say, or would you say you differ on the process? Thanks a lot!
I'm not familiar enough with either of them to make a definitive comment.
You are adorable, that’s what I was thinking.
I was literally scratching my ear during the 15 seconds of silence…
👍👍👍
You're welcome!
most people just can't sit with themelves without any thinking of thought
Dr sahab when I sleep even then thoughts keeps grinding me
This is something very common often lead to anxiety.
motherfuc%^&^ thoughts just enjoy like hell .........
in the 15 sec silence i thought: Nice beard Aziz."
LOL thanks!
I noticed that you're very good looking in my 15 secs of silence, hehe
the outro is quite loud compared to the video's volume.
Sorry about that!
Not done with vid but I noticed that 15 seconds is a long ahh time 😂
Car sounds🚗🚔..beep peep🤖
LOL ??
Unrelated to the video, but, dr aziz, i must say, you look ten times hotter than a couple of yours ago. You gooo doc!
But your videos and advices seem to have always been awesome!!! (I'm a new fan)
Thank you so much for the confidence boost!
That first 15 sec. thing... what I noticed the most was you looking at me....
I avoid eye contact and try to subtly move out of their range of vision....
I heard a bird chirping, and then I heard something in the background
First
Yes!
I listen to only two people satguru and you.
I'm honored!
Change the channels.
I'm not sure what you're trying to say here?
I am going deaf on people for voice in my head.
I'm not sure what you're trying to say here?
Thank you for this!
