That skid plate cost me 1800$, the water pump area cover sits close to the brake pedal (I had one from 2020 on my 2006 yz, and on multiple occasions I actually stepped on the skid plate ahead of the brake pedal and it feels EXACTLY like your stepping on the brake but you never slow down and i ate shit a few times in corners….. meant to cut it off but never did then on a long rough bouncing downhill one day I thought my brakes gave out and I went straight into a quarry lake submerged my old bike in 6 feet of water. Talked to a few other guys I know and they all have done similar things with the axp on the yz250’s. It’s not a problem on my beta.
I've got hung up on that same part of the skid plate going for the rear brake. Heated up the skid plate and bent it some and it seems to have helped. Really my only complaint about the AXP skid plate.
