Blue FE and TE skids will be in the next shipment in 2-3 weeks.

Hey Jeff, I just ordered the mule link guard by bullet proof design to pair with the husqvarna factory carbon infused skid plate and after seeing this product. I feel I have taken the wrong approach to the skid plate/linkage guard setup. 200 bucks for the skid plate and 90 for the link guard when this is 160 total. Is there an advantage to the mule link guard? Or should both and pick up this skid plate?

      should I return both*

      Sean:
The Husky skid is wimpy compared to the AXP and that combo does NOT slide well over rocks and logs. Return it and go for the gusto!

I've been using the stock skid plate and AXP's linkage guard on my '18 TE250 with no issues thus far. Not sure which model skid plate you have there but is there much more protection over the stock unit? I've had the AXP extreme on another bike (yz250fx) so familiar with their product in that regard. Thanks

The stock skid is thin, flexible, has wimpy mounts and lacks side case protection. Other than that it is ok for areas that are not rocky.

Jeff, can you find out and tell us why AXP uses HDPE vs UHMWPE? I love the idea of having a quieter (than aluminum) synthetic skid plate, but I have impression that.UHMWPE is way tougher than HDPE. Asking you - instead of AXP - as you seem to speak as if your reputation depends on cred.

I'll ask AXP BUT the the HDPE is practically indestructible. If you can actually destroy the HDPE material (not the weld), I'll replace it at no charge. BTW: I've been in the MC industry for 48 years and my reputation is solid.

I've run an AXP skid plate I got from Slavens and it's tough as nails.
No way you are going to break it xeeded.

UHMW wouldn't be necessary unless you want teflon-like low friction. HDPE, especially at this thickness, is indestructible.

Your bike would have to catch on fire and melt it in order to destroy this.

You guys need to stock the regular AXP skid plate without the linkage guard again.

We're glad to stock whatever our customers want but skids for linkage bikes without linkage protection do not sell well. Why do you not want to protect the linkage? Help me understand please.

@@slaverace1 I generally prefer a dedicated linkage guard like the fastway linkage arm which replaces the entire stock linkage arm for a unit with built in protection.

@@slaverace1 After comparing the two some more I really like how the extreme version curves up on the sides around the frame rails. It's totally secured without the linkage flap too so I can just hacksaw and dremel it off if I ended up wanting to. Haha. Think I''ll just get the extreme.

Many guys use the Fastway linkage guard with the Xtreme AXP skid so it slides easily over logs.
