    The Special Action and Intelligence Committee for Transportation operates under the DOTr, with enforcers deputized by the LTO.

    8:13 There are so many MMDA enforcers there everyday including pasay police, and they can't stop people from loading and unloading in that part. But when Gadget Addict and the "crew" comes, all of a sudden no one is loading and unloading. It means the MMDA enforcers assigned in that location are not doing their job, instead ticketing color coding vehicles, cause its fewer, and easier. They know they won't get much out of ticketing jeeps and motorcyles

    • @migueldelacruz5054

      That's true. I pass by that area everyday and see enforcers just sitting and chatting.

    • @GadgetAddict
      @GadgetAddict  5 місяців тому +8

      That's the problem.. operation teams can't be everywhere at once.
      Yes things will improve while they're there, and with enough tickets issued, they can make a lasting difference
      But ultimately, for the biggest impact, it comes down to whether fixed-post enforcers in an area will be as equally strict and diligent in their enforcement - as well as whatever orders they're given from above.
      The irony is, those who work the hardest, are often the ones who get bashed the most. While those who do nothing, continue to fly under the radar 🤷

    E trike drivers should at the very least be required to have a valid ID on them. Its weird that LTO doesn't require them to have drivers license when its a motorized vehicle. I see children on the daily driving 4 wheel electric vehicles swerving in and out of lanes.

    • @zivrodriguez3724
      @zivrodriguez3724 5 місяців тому

      Certain e trikes already require license. Not all motorized vehicles require licensure. The e-trikes that require license exceed a certain amount of speed and weight (typically exceeding 30 kmh for heavier etrikes, or 60kmh for lighter etrikes), making them akin to motorcycles. The ones that do not require licenses are below a certain amount of speed and weight (below 30kmh) making them more like electrically assisted bicycles.
      It's a good alternative to using cars and motorcycles and in my opinion should be incentivized instead of vilified.

      Unfortunately that's how it goes in a lot of areas. And I guess that's why you see so many road fatalities, and injuries in general.
      It's a very difficult job, to bring order to the chaos.
      Sometimes people just don't want to put in the effort, or simply don't believe there's a big enough benefit to enforcing the law. And I guess sometimes it's a matter of manpower.
      Ultimately each driver or rider should be responsible and do the right thing, whether there's an enforcer or not.
      But if people never see any kind of enforcement, eventually a lot of them will give up on the rules.

    I really hate that registration plates are not “required” to travel.
    I know LTO lack/have a shortage of proper plates but vehicles, SPECIFICALLY motorcycles, should have readable identification marks.
    I specifically called out motorcycles because 99% of motorcycles I see don’t have proper plates. Even if they do, it’s untraceable.
    Before you motorcycle drivers react, I’ll point out that 99% of 4wheeled vehicles I see have proper, readable identification plates. Even if they don’t have the official plates, they have conduction stickers/plates. It’s easy to identify them.

    • @GadgetAddict
      @GadgetAddict  5 місяців тому +1

      I've lost count of the number of times they've apprehended a motorcycle without a plate, or with a "for registration" plate, and then when the rider opened his compartment, the actual proper LTO plate is inside.
      The initial violation for flagging them down is not related to the plate, it's usually something like riding without a helmet.
      I agree that LTO has made a big mess of plates over the years. But at the very least, a temporary plate should be attached - with the correct details on it. And that is actually required by law.

    We need more police everywhere not a dummy enforcers, there are many college criminology graduates why dont govt. Hire them since they earn in in violation fee

      I'm not sure why you call them dummies. What's wrong with them doing their job?
      Anyway, I think there's around 200,000 - 240,000 PNP personnel, is that right?
      So for sure, if they have spare manpower, they could put more officers on the road, I guess under HPG.

      @@GadgetAddict you said before there are many hard headed violators the solution deploy police not dummy enforcer beside they cannot do anything if criminal violators, higher rank in govt. will dictate them beside we are not there when it happens we need a strict policies no one is exempted.

    Why does the Philippines government allow Lipa City Batangas, Batangas City to have so many moto riders not wearing helmets, Not wearing shoes, 3 riders, modified mufflers that are very loud and obnoxious too many undiscipline people. I mean What the hell is wrong with the Philippines. Our Van driver almost hit a 14 year old girl who just shot out of a side street. She told us she was 14 and first time on a motorcycle.

    To minimize the number of violators. MAKE THE COST OF THE FINE VERY PAINFUL. These 500, 1000, 2000 Pesos is not going to work. MAKE IT 5000 first offense, 10,000 2nd offense, impounded for 6 months for 3rd offense etc and you are going to filter the vast majority of these violators..

      Unfortunately many commuters got used to drivers being willing to just pick them up and drop them off anywhere they want. And now they consider that as a normal practice.
      It can be hard to adjust, but it's possible. Just like in the EDSA busway, with the strict and specific bus stops.

    Free e-trikes usage is doomed because of the Filipino's tendency to go wild with a loophole, to which e-trikes aren't required registration and driver licensing. By not undergoing any formal training, e-trikes inevitably will break traffic laws.
