    1st pro tip - don't use phone for sound, use xlr mic. 2nd - use at least one light (on cam) or make a fill light and bounce it. 3rd tip - never place a person who you gonna shoot in front of the window, especially if you don't have some nd-filters - it will blow up you white level in post. 4th - try to figure out if your camera should be a bit higher than the speaker to avoid of seeing a double chin if there are two of them. 5th - put your handy on mute or switch it of and rec at least 10 seconds of the "silent" room space before you gonna talk to be able to clean it the post. cheers

    Can you make a video about how to edit interviews? That would be so helpful.
    I find it so hard to edit when you dont want to show the questions being asked and only let the guest talk, then cuting from one question to another.

    • @CinecomCrew
      @CinecomCrew  7 років тому +1

      Very important is that the speaker formulates the question in his/her answer. For example: 'What is your favorite food?' Answer: 'My favorite food is pizza'. When he/she answers with 'Pizza'. It's indeed hard to edit.

    I disagree with Jordy here, The talent does have to tell the story the same because the "words" will not make sense to 2 different shots. The tone, the pitch, how they are projecting their voices and most importantly you have you watch to see if the words even make sense to putt together when you edit the story that they are telling can make it challenging! That is why it "is" important to have 2 camera angles at the same time.

    This is the very good video and important as well. Cinecom will always upload editing and VFX videos, but today they uploaded the tutorial of how to shoot an interview-5 pro tips, who ever the interview they must be knowing these tricks and tips. If they dont kow the tricks of shooting it, the shooted video will not be intresting. Thanks a lot for making and uploading the video....

    I'm trying to come up with a creative interview setup kind of like "the hot ones" but instead of eating hot stuff, we would be playing games on tge Nintendo switch. Because i travel it would be the easiest thing to setup for us to do. Any tips on how to shoot that? Angles? It would be outside so what about that?

    Hi, thanks for the videos, it has helped me a lot to understand how to make videos. I'm a hairdresser and I'm going to start recording video lessons, we'll use two DSLR canon SL2, one to film the whole complete space (me, the model and assistant) and for that purpose what canon lens tells me? the second camera will be used to film only the head of the model to better show how I am cutting the hair of the same, and for this camera what lens tells me? in short, a lens to film three people and another lens to just to film the model's head. It does not have to be lenses with good focus because the background of the scene is totally white. I need good, inexpensive lenses to film my course.

    Thanks for these tips! Does it matter if I have stabilization on a camera for shooting video testimonials on a tripod? Is it ok if I leave the camera running on a tripod while I talk to my subject and not operate/adjust the camera after it starts recording? If the answer is "yes," then is stabilization therefore unnecessary?
    I own a Sony Alpha a6400 that has no in-body image stabilization. I'm planning to either buy a Sigma 56mm f/1.4 (no optical stabilization) or a Sony E 50mm F1.8 OSS (SteadyShot optical stabilization) for shooting testimonials. I almost bought the Sigma because the image seems sharp and the aperture is higher, but I'm having second thoughts because I'm not sure if stabilization is important for video testimonials. Do you have any recommendations for which of these lenses I should buy?

For Example - I have Canon 60D as my Main Camera and the other one is I use my iPhone but when I go for editing there is much different between both the footage even when I set all the setting same on both the devices. Any Solution ? or Way? BTW- Tips are Awesome.

      if those two has the same resolution and framerate, it's quite possible to just color correct it and the color grade it to make it look similiar. but, it's always better, to use same type of camera/sister series.

      Get the Color Finale plugin and a Color Checker Passport Video. One of the best investments I’ve made. My GH4 and a7sii look almost identical now.

    • @CinecomCrew
      @CinecomCrew  7 років тому +1

      I'm not a big fan of those camera personally and that's indeed because of the fish-eye lens. When you can do best is do the interview twice and just move your camera. I also do that often when I'm shooting alone. If it's a short interview I even create 3 or more positions.

      i dont like fish-eye lenses. when you come very close to objects it will be very strange and bad to look at. i get sore eyes. i like to use gopro in movies if it is first person. i hope that gopro will release a camera with a normal lens.
