It is good that your teacher is patient and encouraging, rather than yelling and criticizing every mistake you make. More a lesson on how to teach!

Very true. Lot of guys in the business who are owner/operatirs & have done a lot of work themselves for years are impatient & end up running off new people just starting.

Thanks for the Videos! I’m a concrete contractor here in the states and we do things very different than you guys do. It’s cool to see the different ways of screeding!
You are damned good with a screed board and You do an exceptional job of getting it flat! And while screeding you’re sealing the concrete as well. Not a bullfloat finish of course but more of a seal than we get with 2x4 screeds.
You guys do a better job setting up than we do here. You use more rebar and it looks like you pour thicker slabs on the average than we do. Our commercial concrete better equates to your residential set ups.
Just curious.... most of our exterior concrete walks and driveways are 4” thick. Everything I’ve seen you pour looks thicker?
What additives do you guys use for your warmer climate?
We pour 5-sack mix for most slabs. Liquid air entrainment for exterior. I use a hydration additive when we get to 85-90 degrees Fahrenheit. When it’s cold here we will use calcium or a non calcium Excelerator. You seem to pour using the same slumps as we do. 5-7 inch slump depending
    Thanks again for Vids!

HciContractor thanks bro for watching and also thanks for your awesome comments it’s good to see what people do differently in different countries . In Australia we have a lot of rules we have to stick by when we pour concrete . Most of our mixes are pretty basic we have between 20 MPA and 45MPA and will use 20 mil stone most of the time . Between 60 and 100 slump 👊
