I've watched a LOT of videos on this topic and this is by far the best explanation of the differences, possible issues and available treatment options. Thank you
I’ve been battling this for 9 years. It seems when I do a lot of work moving up and down, my groin pain flairs up. Here’s my history: 54 years. At Age 7 had a double hernia and repaired no mesh. Age 15 had a groin injury playing Soccer. Did not require surgery however was very close, very painful. 9-10 years ago I was doing leg press and I was going a bit heavy and I felt a sensation in my groin and it caused some discomfort for a few days. I ended up making an appointment at the world renown Shouldice Hernia clinic in Toronto. I was examined by two surgeons being that is one of their protocols. Both said no hernia. No bulge, no hernia. They do not use ultrasounds as means to determine a hernia. I had an ultrasound and an MRI before hand. The ultrasound Detected a small hernia protected by peritoneal fat. MRI was Inconclusive. I’ve had ultrasounds a few times after and all came back the same result. I still get the pain from time to time if I overwork my hip. It’s hard to determine if it’s an old injury coming back to haunt me? It doesn’t hurt to cough, it doesn’t hurt to lift things, And it doesn’t hurt to do anything really. Sometimes the pain is intense but goes away with rest. The two surgeons told me it’s probably a sports hernia. Being that I’m told that it’s a femoral hernia I do not want to have mesh put in my body for fear of worst pain that I’m already feeling. I’m still in excellent shape but don’t want to deal with that type of pain. Is there a way to fix these hernias without the use of mesh? I’m just hoping that it’s scar tissue from my old inguinal hernias. I do not want to go under the knife if not necessary.
I went to jiu jitsu this morning and during warms up we were doing some breakfalls which is where you fall backwards and break your fall by simultaneity slapping your palms on that mat. After several reps is starting feeling a tightness in my lower abdomen below my belly button to the right. At first I thought maybe it was by belt but As warm ups progressed I know it was muscular because every time used my ab muscles I’d feel a very sharp localized pain in the area. I hope it’s a strain and not a hernia
So the past few months I've being getting groin pain or testicle pain but now it seems to be more active. it comes and goes. Today I rang the doctors and they said it possibly could be a hernia, so I have a scan soon to find out. I don't have a bulge anywhere or I can't feel one. I'm hoping it's a hernia and nothing serious. Scary stuff because the pain is near my left testicle. Very in depth video thanks for this. 😊
@@projectzgb7482 thankyou. Has the problem persisted for the last two weeks ? I’m gonna go get checked tomorrow. Did the doctor seem really concerned or not really ?
Can an old scar in the pubic / groin area cause a weakness ?. Ive had this on and off for a few years, always when it resurfaces it causes irritation around the old scar. And the groin feels tight. I do have hip impingement, but on the opposite hip.
