- What a long (fun) trip it's been. On July 20th, 2007 we put up the first StewMac UA-cam video (it's here if you want to watch it: • String Spacing Rule )
This week we just crossed the 400k subscriber level! We are very very grateful for all of your support through the years, and we wanted to take a moment to say thanks and acknowledge how much you all mean to us.

You have one of the greatest guitar channels on UA-cam! Thanks for all you do!
We appreciate that, thank you!
I’ve been a StewMac customer for over 30 years and was reading Dan Erlewine’s Guitar Player columns before that. I don’t repair guitars, but I’m confident in maintaining and troubleshooting my own instruments in huge part because of Dan and StewMac. Congratulations!
That's amazing, great work! Thanks for the love.
Love the stewmac works, bought alot tools and video from them for past 10 years ago.😊
Thanks for sharing all your content. I’ve learned so much from Dan. I’m not afraid to do a fret dress, or even a fret leveling now. I’m no pro, but I have managed to make my guitars play much better thanks to you guys. A dedicated customer and subscriber, thanks guys and gals..🙏🏼
The day I found Stewmac was a great day in a life. 🎵🎵🎵 ☮️ & ❤️
You are not Stewmac, and have no guitar
Did you ever hear of the Federal Trade Commission? Well soon you will lol.
you guys are genuinely amazing, and have been helping me on my journey through treating my own guitars with the amount of respect they deserve!
my guitars feel, sound, and play better than they ever have, and i thank you for all the guidance and help in the incredible videos you guys put out.
Thank you to StewMac for making the best products.
Anxiously waiting for Dan's guitar restoration episode #2!
Yes! It's currently in the editing stage - stay tuned!
So glad Dan is still at it!!! Love me some StewMac
Thank you for the free StewMax subscription when I ordered some sanding papers and micro mesh pads. Congratulations on 400K subscribers.
A friend and I have been watching y'all since VHS days. Loved your tapes! That ES-335 makes me drool and reminds of the '59 model I foolishly traded. Congratulations on your 400th subscriber. Really looking forward to more videos. They are great!
LOVE all your videos and I really miss my time working in Gene's shop. He was a great teacher and is an awesome person! Glad to see he's back at StewMac!! Hope to see him one day when I make it back to Ohio for a visit. 🙂🎸❤️
Congratulations !! You guys rock!! I am a big Dan’fan!!!
Thanks for the stewmac team and Dan ❤ I've learned so much about guitar care, repairs and more since I started learning guitar in 2011. You all helped the community to care repair and enjoy guitars 🙏
Great to hear! Thank you so much!

Dan and the crew at StewMac are the best in the business, and these videos help us learn the right way to use the quality tools you sell. It's an amazing resource to learn from masters of their craft, and it's also an appreciated way to promote the products StewMac sells so that we can do our best work.

I am slowly becoming a repair Tech. All knowledge must line up with what Dan says. Thank you so much. Jim. Big shout out to the Traverse City Guitar Company the whole gang there helps alot.
Quality product deserves recognition. Congrats!
Congratulations. Well earned! Thank you for the videos.
back in the early 80's Stewart Mac catalogs were so hard to get . i was told about them by an older friend, if you went to a music store they wouldn't even give you one. nope no way! cause this is where they got all there stuff from, they would say you were cutting their throat . but i found a old book store that sold ever book magazine you could imagine, and they had a copy .from then till today . its always been Stewart Mac for all my guitar stuff. they Rock ! oh lets not for the videos they put out today .such a great help. Stewart Mac , Thank you for years of great products service and videos. your the best !
Thank you StewMac for teaching me how to take care of my guitars! I've learned so much from Dan. Thank you, Dan. You're the best! Congrats on 400k subscribers. You guys deserve it!

Congrats on hitting this milestone... looking forward to even more milestones to come and your great educational content on the craft.
Happy 400k. Congratulations 🎉
I love your videos. I have learned so much. You helped me repair my guitars. I love all the information your videos provide, as well as just the content.
That guitar is BEAUTIFUL. I can't wait to hear what it sounds like. ❤
That's awesome! Thank you so much. The video will be out soon!
As a celebratory gesture, we should plant 400,000 Jacaranda trees so we can get some Brazilian Rosewood circulating. Of course, all 400,000 of us will have to go to South America for a few years to plant and nurse them. Pack your bags!
Congrats on hitting the 400k subscriber milestone! I am hoping we all together can keep love for the great instrument that is the guitar going into the coming generations of musicians strong. It all does start with getting the best out of the sound and playability of the instrument and we appreciate what StewMac does to help us with that part. Rock on guys!
Uncle Dan is awesome!
The ceramic guitar video is one of my favorites on your channel.
Oh yeah, that was a good one!
Been follow you guys for years. I love your content! thanks to all the StewMac Team!!!
CONGRATS from Germany! 💐 Gerd 👏

You guys have the best customer service! Such an amazing resource too.
Hello there from Brazil!!! Congrats, you guys!!!! Thank you for great tools, learning and the videos you make!!
Nice to see the OGs thriving!
Thanks for all the great content. It’s been very helpful for my guitar making journey
Congratulations!
I’ve been a subscriber for many, many years and have been a professional working bassist for over 40 years. And while I’m not a guitar repairman or luthier, I love watching a master like Dan at work. If I could request though that you do more videos on bass maintenance and repair. That would be great! Thanks so much for for sharing your expertise.
How long have i been a StewMac client? Too long to remember 😊 thank you for the great products!
congratulations and thank you!! I've been subscribed for 5 or 6 years now and I absolutely love every video. Dan is lovely and an absolute master at the craft, I've learned so much that I'll soon be accompanying my friends' band on a major gig as a stage manager and guitar/bass tech, and am now even doing setups for other musicians as a side income!! not to mention how much I have saved on my own setups!! thank you!!!
i wish you guys many more subscribers, you are literally part of my top 1 best channels on youtube
Congratulations!!! I've been a subscriber for ages!
Awesome! I like to think this extra revenue from subscriptions may be what’s helping to lower some prices that I’ve noticed lately. That’s a great thing. I guess technology is advancing and things are getting better but I still miss my old Stewart Macdonald catalogs made from newspaper type material lol. I loved seeing those in the mailbox…
Yeah... we loved the catalog too. We spent a lot of time discussing it. It was hard to let it go, but printing and shipping fees kept going up and up and up, it was outdated almost immediately, and it was really hard to see if it was worth all the effort and cost. We decided it was probably better to shift our resources into other areas... like making more YT videos. 😎
@@stewmac I understand completely, just another little something I miss lol. Maybe because I hate getting older haha
Love the videos!
I am definitely a fan of Dan’s. I do setup and maintainence works on my own guitars. However I am unable to do major repairs and mod works for the reason I do not have a workshop and heavier tools. I do hope Dan can demonstrate on simple repair works with minimal tools in your future videos. Thank you very much.
Nice to see Dan still alive and kicking.
Great to hear that tomo is coming back, loved the videos with him
Keep those instructional videos coming. I still have much to learn and toys (oops -tools) to buy!
Congratulations! And I think it's always great to hear Dan actually playing guitar so can't wait for that.
🙂👍🍺. Cheers
Congrats on over 400K subscribers
Thank you guys for the great content. I learn a lot every time!
The videos are great! I’d like to occasionally see some more advanced videos, maybe multipart, that cover some of the most extreme repairs.
Noted! Thanks for the suggestion, that's a great idea. We'll put that on our list!
Congratulations! Great channel.
Totally Tom Hanks! I didn't think about that till you mentioned it.
that's awesome. congrats
Congrats for the best channel🎉
Keep up the great videos! Love them!
I love dan! Great to see him! Where's Eric been lately?? Keep up the great work stewmac!
Very very good
You all very welcome
Love you all thanks you all
Awesome 😊
Dan is the grandpa I never had!
🤘
👍
Dan, I imagine even people with no interest in guitars would find your videos absorbing.
Do it Gene Hanks! " "There's no crying in fretwork!"
I came close many times in my early days when I was learning!🤣
😆 that's hilarious
Still waiting for another Q&A with Dan so he can answer my question: Does he still have Bloomfield's Goldtop that he traded his '59 Burst to Bloomfield for???
I just wanna hear Gene say…”momma always said life was like a box of chocolates”…🤣
Your videos are so awesome, I thank you for sharing so much valuable info, your repair vids are top notch, I cant tell you how much I enjoy watching you, thank you,
i have a question about pick up swap..does just cutting out the pick up and twisting the wires together work the same ??? or will i be loosing quality of sound ?
When you started making black & white film were they silent or talkies?
I love all the vids, I watch them for relaxation and entertainment. Too bad the Ryan Adams Harmony Buck Owens acoustic videos were pulled :(
Help get Dan Erlewine a wikipedia page
Aquilla ukulele Low G strings break. They say it’s the nut groove. They say the High G string is thicker than the Low G. They say once you file the the nut for Low G, you can’t use the High G. They say to tighten the string off the nut to prevent breakage, is this right? What size files should I get for my Ukulele? What are your best nut files? HELP…..
400K subscribers WOW Congrats
Thank you so much 😀
