*snap* Great point Kev, I was thinking on not that but just how amazing and consistent Ant is. He like Slug is always evolving they're art, most good musicians I enjoy do this. But Ant and Slug in my opinion have never in between to different sounds if you know what I mean. Jus seen em about two weeks ago in pittsburgh and like every album tour they do they translate that ever changing sound beautifly.

Anybody that doesn't like this because of the "pauses" or the "spacing" needs to stop listening to Slug. Any real Slug fan knows that most of his songs are about the lyrics and his message. His flow was phenomenal not to mention his lyrics.. This is passion, this is real Hip-Hop.

+Peter Camacho I agree. He already proved that he had flow on his earlier albums like Overcast!. His newer albums are about the lyrics and the story he tells. If you're listening to rap just for the flow and the beat, or the bass and the movement if you will (:D), you aren't listening to it for the right reasons.

People complaining about the flow and pauses but I don't think rap is about fitting as many words as you can into every every measure. I got a really chilled, lax feeling about this one, really effortless stuff. And as a photographer I appreciate the metaphors about stealing the moments. Great shit slug.

When I first Bought the album I was sceptic about what i heard. But in the full context- music, atmosphere, message, story and such- it really is Atmosphere @ its best.
It's a statement based rhyme, heavy on the metaphors, says em slow so they sink and can be comprehend - most still go over my head lol

I'm a bit new to Atmosphere. I didn't know they were releasing a new album when I first started listening to them a couple days ago. Their earlier music is perfect. Such good songs with good topics and themes and just perfect beats to go along with it.
I've listened through their whole discography and literally spazzed out when I found out today that they had released a new album. I bought the album immediately on iTunes and I'm so happy I did. It's really, really good. Artists like these two are rare nowadays, and I'm happy I found their music.

I'm glad Atmosphere didn't go bozo on us. I mean I always knew Rhymesayers is one of the only few who ARE Hip-Hop, but nowadays older rappers be doing shit that benefits commerce, but destroys their art.
Ant really shines on this track. He's still got it. I believe Slug does too, but it might not have shown quite as much on this one. Great song though, and a great album. Glad Atmosphere's still keepin' on.

Been an Atmoshphere fan for a long time now. Atmosphere has undergone a lot of changes to their sound throughout the years. Some changes were tough to go through. I can safely say this might be his best work yet. Slug's still got it.

FINALLY! A new Atmosphere album. I was so hyped when I heard "Bitter" on Pandora. "Bitter" was good, but Ant fucking KILLED it with this beat! So good!
Good flow doesn't mean spitting out rhymes as fast as you can, good flow is created through a combination of rhyming, following the beat, and spitting a real message. Slug's rhymes match this beat perfectly, and that along with the metaphors about stealing moments make this song a freaking masterpiece.
I really don't understand how people think these are bullshit lyrics these are awesome and some good metaphors are in there.

I just wanted to share my perspective of one of his lyrics and see if anyone else agrees because I keep going back and forth about what I think he means.

Some of my friends think he means he would try to clean up his past, but I disagree and think that he means that he wouldn't care to use it to change the past but rather leave the past alone and do something "fatherly" and use it as a "vacuum" to clean up (around the house maybe? lol) . As the rest of this song seems to talk about growth and references to who/how he used to be, I think it's a cute and clever line that shows he's happy with the present and has other priorities and things to take care of.
He means cleaning up the past. Sorry.

Not all rap is the same.
Rap is just an instrument. Hip hop is the genre, and some of its sub genres are actually meant to mean something, lyrically. So yes, it does resemble rap, and its finest branch at that.
