I disagree that their albums are getting better. I find Slug's flow as of late getting more and more boring. But the beats are always great and I still have mad respect for them. It was Atmosphere that turned me on to underground hip hop to begin with so I owe them every bit of gratitude for that. I do really prefer when Slug was spitting more technical flows though. I'll always have the old records for that though.

Before this album dropped I heard Virgo and was completely thinking nothing could top it. Then I heard Graffiti and chills ran down my spine. I was so able to relate to the lyrics. Now I'm hearing this for the first time and holy shit, this album is straight up fire. Sean aka Slug is almost 50 and I can honestly say he's only gotten better with age. Sometimes I feel like I don't like Atmosphere anymore, because Slug's lyrics have changed, and Ant's production has changed. Then I think about myself, and how long it's been since I first heard Atmosphere, and why I became a fan in the first place. And I realize that Atmosphere hasn't really changed- they've grown and evolved. That's why their music is still relevant, that's why it's still so enjoyable, and that's why I'm still a fan.

Ive Been listening to atmosphere since I was a teenager. I Listened to his music to help me get through some pretty real things, and it was there for all the mile stones. Becoming a teenager in highschool, getting high for the first time, Getting laid, discovering myself in my teenage years, and doing stupid things thinking I was lashing out at society, like tagging stuff, The loss of my first real love. the death of my own father at a young age, Working dead end kitchen jobs, battling alcoholism 6+ years ago, meeting the women who is now my wife, the birth of my daughter, and as I got older he just kept dropping these new albums that recorded his own personnal milestones, and it fealt like i was kind of following a pttern, and i wasnt alone. Then I went to see him live about a month ago and it was the best show of my life. It Actually got kind of emotional realizing I wasn't the only one who had been feeling that way. Most of the crowd was in their 30s, 40s, and 50s.
Atmosphere is so underrated… The poetry is so strong.
