Not only that l, but ai heard other bands doing the same thing before, and a lot better (ballads, slow songs, different style from what they were known for etc). I love all of Watain's work and regardless of recording style there is an alive, dark and primal energy present in everything they do. But the fact that this record was done live gives that energy a truly palpable quality and it makes so much sense given what Watain is. Truly one of the greatest voices given to the spirit of black metal.

They can do this haunting, eerie thing just as perfectly as the ferocious, predatory, unchained outburst thing. They are also very good in combining the two. They are like a giant emotional avalanche that just carries you along. Their unique sound is also like the perfect balance between raw/oldschool and modern.
This is a great song with a lovely and darkened ambience. maybe it's poiting to a new level that Watain can reach easily. They're a drinving force on the genre today, and this song shows the reason for it.
