      Hi Liam, I just have the standard size jet in mine. Not sure what size it is as I never had it out but I will check it out later for you.
      The idle mixture down the front of the car I have at around 1 and 3/4 to 2 turns. This randomly needs adjusted with changes in temp etc.
      I think the clip on my main jet is one nick above the centre slot. With my bike this leaves it a slight bit lean but it starts a lot easier got this way as if I put it into the middle slot it’s quite hard to start hot.
      But just remember all the bikes react a little different and you may need to experiment a little

      Hi William. You don’t need to use the clutch on the way up the gears as long as you unload the engine by letting off the throttle briefly and on the way down you do it by letting off the throttle then quickly give it a small blip of the throttle to match revs to the increased engine speed and that’s it. By doing this you match the engine and gearbox speed and is completely harmless to the gearbox. I will have a video on it coming shortly including how to make it sound like a quick shifter.

      @@UnleashedSkaters ok. I would try just changing the front sprocket for a while. This should give u a nice increase in speed without sacrificing acceleration too much. Sometimes gearing them up too much can mean the bike hasn’t the power to make use of it so just try one at a time and see how you like it.

      No not really unless you have a lot of power. I tried a 17 and 30 on it and it left it so high geared that I could do 67mph in 3rd and it couldn’t take 4th without dying down. Have a bigger carb on it now to try and make use of this gearing but just trying to get it jetted and find tuned. I’ll keep everyone posted on that

    • @DarrenMcKinney1
      @DarrenMcKinney1  3 роки тому +2

      It is not necessary to use the clutch on upshifts as long as you let off the throttle for the split second you change gear and on the way down you just blip the throttle the second you change gear.
      If you get some practice at it you will see what I mean and it can make riding more enjoyable too. Let me know how you get on with it if you are going to give it a try

    Thats odd,
    My M2R Kmxr140 does 65mph with original gearing screaming its tits off. I rekon if i swaped the front an rear sprocket i could get it to do 75mph easy, butit would drastically change the acceleration and torque.
    All depends what you use the bike for, i race my mates around tracks and jumps with mostly corners, so i need the torque and acceleration, if i wanted it for every day road use, id change the gearing to get a faster top end for duel carriageways and main roads.

      Yes, I have a Kmxr160 and they do seem to Rev higher and have different gearing than the rf160’s. The rf160 would be more powerful low in the Rev range where I find the Kmxr160 would pull better higher up in the Rev range. I like the Kmxr better for the off road stuff as it just seems better suited to

      Most of the bikes are the same fitment but unfortunately you’ll have to check the sizes on your bike to make sure they are the same and check it has the 428 size chain like mine as some have a 420 profile chain. It will say this number on the chain somewhere and it the distance between the 2 bolt holes on the sprocket that have to be checked.
