Landon Donovan was an average player. He was perfect as the face of American soccer because even still today you can see how far behind the country is when you watch the Euros. Copa America is 2 or 3 tiers below what you see in Europe.
I wasn't shocked at AM13 not making the roster. At best, I figured she'd be an alternate for leadership purposes. Otherwise, she just has not looked like the AM13 of the world cup 2019. She is so specific at the 9 position that there's just too many others who are better atm. And she just doesn't have the versatility so many of the other players do have.
Well, Landon, Alex's career is fine. Olympics has only 18 roster spots. There is always the World Cup with a 23 roster size. She's been to 8 Olympics and World Cups. She's had her fair share. She's getting older and maybe it's time to hang the boots for the USWNT? Love Alex, but that's life. She's not the first, and definitely not the last to be left off a roster. Mallory Swanson was left off the 2020 Olympic roster. Caitlin Clarke is left off the 2024 Olympic roster when her stats proves she deserves to be on it. Happens to men and women in all sports. That's life. Alex has had a great life and professional career. She's a mom now also. All happy shit. She's fine.

I thought by it was a shitty thing to do!! Coach knows that this would be her last chance to (assuming she’ll retire soon) do put on this stage!! She should have been on the team for all she has done for women’s soccer!!! She’s the BEST!!!

ALEX MORGAN Prefomed the last 2 years not good even for her club so what is the big deal about it? any time she will be back on a rosters for the uswnt team as long as she shows a good performance.
Landon should not have been left off the 2014 World Cup team. Klinsmann was trying to make an example of him. In this case Morgan has been great but the right choice was made based on her current form.
Klinsmann was the best hire in team history. Landon was never good in terms of World class players. He didn't even see the field in Germany. His shitty selfish attitude does not work in the team game of soccer. His Ego was way to high for his limited abilities.
Alex has been a HUGE part of the USWNT’s success in recent years, but she’s not the powerhouse she once was. The kick and run style of play is finally over and unfortunately, that was her best asset. Beat the defenders to the long ball and finish. She’s lost a step and isn’t a good dribbler or passer. Enjoy Motherhood.

Rightfully, Alex Morgan does not deserve to be on the USWNT. She is one dimensional, slow and lacks the quickness and agility of faster younger opposing players. The crest and the flag, rules above all. There is no I, in team. ie - Megan Rapinoe used the press conference before the World Cup to announce her retirement and made that presser all about her. Vlatko Andonovski made it happen. That's bad coaching. Do not focus on individuality. That's why they lost in the the World Cup. They did not display team chemistry.
